Stillmans and..Charlie Horses?!?!? HELP!!!

I've noticed several days into Stillman's and I have had cramping in the back of my legs (calves). Nothing horrible just mild to moderate Charlie Horses.

Has anyone had muscle cramping issues on Stillman's?

I take a very good vitamin brand/ package every day. You really can't afford not to on this diet.

Maybe I need a potassium pill?

Any advice very appreciated.

It seems sometimes that can be caused by dehydration, and/or lack of various minerals such as magnesium, potassium, sodium. Often people are marginally deficient in magnesium and/or potassium before going low carb, then the fluid release that seems to come shortly after starting low carb causes even more mineral loss. Some people have said certain chicken broths help if it is a sodium issue.

The most recent Atkins book discusses this. When you lose all that water weight, you get sodium depletion as well. They now suggest drinking two cups of a salty broth a day as long as you are sticking to very low carb and losing quickly. I know this is not what Stillman originally said, probably, but it's silly not to take advantage of additional medical knowledge available now.

I had some additional sodium today so we'll see if that helps. I'll have to look into what you guys are saying. Can you refer me to the part in Atkins you are referring to?

It's in the New Atkins for a New You. I don't have the page, sorry.
