![]() THE QUICK WEIGHT LOSS METHOD This is a severe form of ketogenic diet.It is not easily sustainable for the long term. It may be useful in breaking plateaus and in those too impatient to allow their bodies to take the fat off gradually at its own pace. NOTHING ELSE IS PERMITTED ON THIS DIET--NOTHING! IF IT'S NOT MENTIONED IN THE FOLLOWING LIST, DON'T EAT OR DRINK IT. Eat all you wish of the following foods to satisfy hunger. If you eat until you've satisfied your hunger but haven't stuffed yourself, and then feel hungry before the next meal, you can eat again, but only from the foods listed here. In fact, you're better off eating smaller meals 6 times a day than 3 bigger meals as is the general custom. But you limit yourself to this extensive list of high protein foods. 1. LEAN MEATS, with all possible fat trimmed off. Includes beef, lamb, veal. Eat it broiled, boiled, OR baked. No butter, margarine, oil or other fats are to be used either in the cooking or the eating. 2. CHICKEN AND TURKEY with all skin removed. Broiled, boiled or roasted, with no butter, margarine, oil or other fats. 3. ALL LEAN FISH & SEAFOOD No butter, margarine, oil or other fats permitted in preparation or serving. You may have cocktail sauce, horseradish, ketchup-in moderation. 4. EGGS. Hard boiled preferably. Also soft or medium boiled eggs, poached, or any type of fried eggs made in non-fat, non-stick pans without butter, margarine, oil or other fats. 5. COTTAGE CHEESE, FARMER CHEESE, POT CHEESE made with skim milk and no whole milk. 6. AT LEAST 8 GLASSES OF WATER PER DAY, absolutely essential (10 ounce glasses). As much as you want of coffee and tea without cream, milk or sugar. You may sweeten with non-caloric sweeteners to taste. Enjoy all the club soda, vichy and non-caloric carbonated beverages you wish, as often as desired. You may use common seasonings such as salt, pepper, spices, other herbs, cocktail sauce, horseradish, ketchup. Don't use any creamy or oily sauces or dressings. No mayonnaise, no salad dressings, no oils, no fats. NOTHING ELSE IS PERMITTED-IF IT’S NOT LISTED HERE, DON’T EAT IT OR DRINK IT! The eight <10 ounce> glasses of water daily are in addition to whatever coffee, tea and non-caloric carbonated beverages you drink. This is an integral part of the specific internal process put into motion by the Quick Weight Loss Diet. Much more of your body fat is burned up than with most other diets. This leaves in it’s wake the waste products or ashes of burnt fat. [ketone bodies] They must all be washed out of your system by water which also serves to relieve any unpleasant dryness and taste in the mouth. Note: ketone bodies are not ashes, they are the by-product of incomplete burning of fats.Ketones are to fat as charcoal is to wood. Ketones can be burned for fuel by your body. Most people have feedback loops to protect against ketosis-acidosis. It is desirable to take vitamins daily with the diet, such as a once-daily vitamin and mineral tablet. NOTHING ELSE IS PERMITTED ON THIS DIET--NOTHING! IF IT'S NOT MENTIONED IN THE PRECEDING LIST, DON'T EAT OR DRINK IT. If you disregard the instructions and eat regular carbohydrates or sugar or alcohol, you will stop burning up stored fat as efficiently. Even one indiscretion, one mouthful of ice cream, for example, will set you back a day or two. You will lose the most weight on The Quick Loss Diet, most quickly, if you eat only to satisfy your hunger pangs rather than to gratify a desire to eat just for the pleasure of eating. This diet has practically no residue (fiber). Therefore it is likely that you may not have a bowel movement for a few days, although not necessarily so. In any case don't be alarmed by any such lack. [note: extra vitamin C or milk of magnesia is helpful in some cases] |

bigbass - I can tell because my breath is really bad (in the morning). I also buy "Ketostix" at the pharmacy and test my urine first thing in the morning. ANY change of color on the stix means you are in ketosis.

The scale was down 1 pound this morning but that is still UP 3 from the beginning of my high fat/ higher calorie weekend experiment. Maybe this is the start of the DOWNWARD trend. I am on day 2 of strict Stillman's and I can tell I am not back into ketosis yet.
If the weigh starts coming off faster in the next couple of days then I will call the experiment a success for me - if not, then I am not doing that again!! ![]() |

First of all, Tuna is not my idea of a breakfast food (smells too much like the cat food!) - but that was all I had this morning. I had bought several of the tuna flavors in a pouch and this morning I tried the "Tomato Pesto". Definitely NOT my favorite. The "Garlic Herb" and the "Lemon Pepper" are MUCH better.
These were from StarKist. If anyone has tried any other flavors or brands can you share your experience?? Sharon |

Reminds me of the obstetric nurse when I was in labor with my first baby, "Wow, look at those stretch marks! You'll never wear a bikini again!"About menopause --- The Cold Hard Truth that nobody ever told me: It can start when you are in your 40's and not get done til mid-50's. That's what my doctor finally admitted to me. I lost my 60 on Atkins just before the final throes of menopause (when it was "pausing" and not just the symptoms). Then gained 61 back. I'm losing on Stillman's, so you probably will be just fine.

I started menopause at 46. And it happened really fast. I guess I was lucky, never had all those mood swings or sweats.
I was just reading the chapter in Good Calories Bad Calories that discussed scurvy. Basically they took some men and only gave them meat....nothing else, like the Intuits. They had them in the hospital just in case they came down with something. This went on for months, and nothing happened. In fact the men got much healthier, lost weight, and one's gingivitus completely disappeared. All they ate were meat....period. So there is a minute amount of Vit. C in meat. And what they believe is that glucose actually blocks the absorbtion. That's why there is such an epidemic of people deficient in Vit C in the country, theorectically. Very interesting. At least after reading that I don't feel so squeamish about cutting out fruits and vegetables for awhile. Had a steak for lunch, and that was it. Sat there watching my friend eat a sandwich, fries and a my garlic toast and wedge salad. Didn't bother me one little bit. So my husband emailed me and asked me what I wanted for dinner....meat? So I said I wanted to be an Intuit. His reply is that he's going to try to find whale blubber at the supermarket....LOL

Ok menu today was 2HB eggs and 14oz of chicken, and exercise was 1hr aerobics dvd and 2hrs on the bike. Exercise yesterday was 3hrs on the bike. Dunno if I can keep it up-getting up so early is killing me!!
![]() Notice how I conveniently "forgot" to post my menu yesterday!!!! Well just let's say it involved going to IKEA (to buy chairs for the balcony-cos I'm sure ya'll wanted to know!) and well a slice of cake called Dime Cake ![]() ---oh peeps it was soooooo good! It had little pieces of dime bar on top!!!My friend was there going-have you never had it? oh try it-it's gorgeous! I was like "I don't really like cake or almondy flavours " (I don't!) She goes oh try a piece of mine-you have to-IKEA's famous for it!......so I took a small piece of hers....that would have been ok.....but then I went up and got a slice![]() -------oh it was so unbelievably good!! ....a bit rich- and after eating the whole slice I did feel kinda sick!!! But it was still good!!! And you can buy big cakes of it in the little supermarket bit!!.....I didn't!!!And you know it was so good I didn't even feel guilty eating it! He! The good Dr. would be spinning in his grave!!! ![]() Needless to say-I did not step on the scale this morning!!!!
