Hi Becky!! Congrats on the first week!! It will def get easier from here on in!! I think Stillman's is actually "easier" than Atkins--well what I mean is it trains you to like bland food and weans you off the good stuff, and there's no choice--ooh chicken or turkey!!--whereas Atkins--well yeah I've read those recipes with the cream and the butter- and the coco bark-yuuuuuuummmy!!Those cals in Atkins would have to be pretty high, prob better for treats in maintainance!!

Happy Sunday peeps! Just reading my newspaper supplement and there is an article on the Dukan Diet. I have never heard of it until today but I have to say I really like the sound of it...so much so that I plan to give it a go in a couple of weeks. It's a low fat, protein diet which has four phases. The first phase is similar to QWL. The second stage consists of two alternating diets: pure protein one day and pure protein plus vegetables the next. All phases require you to eat a small amount of oat bran daily which apparently swells up to 25 times its own weight once in your tum. Don't get me wrong, I love Stillman's but I know I will soon need to change things up a bit.

Yeah I like that top too--it has light pink on the top of it!! I might post a profile pick sometime---I'm slowly but surely getting braver!! Maybe on hols!! (vacation)
.....well its morning now and Im still thinking about your legs. They are exactly what I want! You took a big step by posting pics and I feel I should follow. I will get something together, but I am soooo nervous. I have so much working out to do, before I can look normal.

Want to add that you look like you were NEVER overweight. I look like the girl that went on a diet. Its embarrassing. I wear my cute clothes that aren't always flattering and I feel like people know I was fat and wonder how I have the nerve to wear them. Does that make sense? I've been trying real hard to accept myself and I just have to keep telling myself that no one else sees my flaws. (or if they do, they dont care about my flaws) This is the hardest part to get a grip on.

So, I think I'll put together some pics of me at various weights. It's funny, I never look like the same person twice. Whether its hair or weight, Im always keeping people guessing. (or Im constantly trying to come up with a new and improved look - sometimes it backfires,,haha) But! It gives hubby a new girlfriend every few months. hehe

thanks again for taking the plunge. here's hoping your confidence grows more and more each day until finally you just see that hot chick in the mirror!

Keep staying strong and remember, no bites, licks, or tastes. Its the kiss of death on QWL. It will set you back an entire week (or more). you can do this!!!

Hi makeme!!! There is a thread for the dukan Diet here. Not looking forward to losing ya, so stick around anyway if you do decide to try something new. Would love to know how it works. I love QWL because there is no thought process involved, no phases or directions to worry about and remember, same thing day in and day out. but oh so boring and bland!

Home with the kiddos today (poor hubby is workin on Daddys Day). We're gonna do some play-do, hit the pool, and hopefully make it to a festival a few towns away. looking forward to it, since my Sundays with them are soon to be over.... Its ok for the summer, but once they go back to school, I wont have a day off with them. Life can be so unfair.. OK..blockin it out now, gonna have a fun filled day!!!

and I didnt get to eat my kobe beef last night. hubby forgot to take it out and I was too hungry to start cookin when I got home. Finished up the turkey and said no to the wine (and cheezits, bratty )

I think Im hungry right now. what would the neighbors think if i fired up the grill before 8am?? who cares, right?!?!

Love yous!!

Morning Al! Thank you for the congrats I've been rearranging my itunes this morning while editing the commandments, and I downloaded some FREE couch to 5 k podcasts. You can either chose one with or without music, but they all give you the prompts of when to run or walk, and there's a different one for each week. Once I've got them on my iPod and I have my running shoes, I really won't have any excuse not to start it. Anyway, thought you might want the podcasts too.

Morning Makeme! That diet sounds interesting. I'm tempted by South Beach once I'm nearing goal... Don't leave us yet! Give us more details about the diet, I'm interested.

On a separate note... how is everyone doing on the 10 lb challenge we set at the beginning of June? I'm only 5.4 lbs in, but I really think I can get it in the bag this month. I remember that Lisa's already completed it and is on the second 10 lbs. Where is everyone else at?

Hehe, well I can't wait til they're falling off me. I was this weight nearly three years ago when I met my boyfriend. Funny that I didn't feel all that fat back then, but I do remember doing the watercress soup diet every few weeks to keep my weight kind of stable.

Oh that sounds very interesting--and doable!! Actually think that was in our papers a few Sundays ago-my Mum texted me and asked if I knew it and was it the one I was doing...but I didn't know anything about it! Sounds good tho--I like the idea of a day with, then a day without veg!! Again it's all like Stillman-low-carb, low-fat!! Nothing bad in it!! I do wonder how Atkins could be good for life--I think it just has way too much sat fat and it never trains you to eat any other way--you still really like and want the taste of fat. I know you're not allowed say anything against Atkins on LFC!! I think the good Dr. Stillman was def before his time!! And is the oat bran like oats as in porridge--yup it does make you very full!!!

Oh Al-seriously how can you want my legs--no you don't! I don't want them
I only posted them to get an honest opinion-because I really can't guage how I look anymore, and look I posted them when I knew there was hardly anybody on and I deleted them straight away!! I am rather clever don't ya think!!. Don't feel you should post anything just because someone else did. I don't post any but some people really like to do it. (I would really like some of their courage and self-confidence)
It totally makes sense I feel the same and I think I look like I have lost weight (kinda deflated or sthg) and yup that everyone will know it. But you're so right people don't look nastily--ask yourself--do you??? Nope you don't. You look and compare yourself and everyone is always thinner/taller/smaller/prettier/more tanned/blonder....etc etc than you!! (I mean in your mind, not in reality, I'm crap at explaining things) And that's what everyone else is doing too--I can guarantee it!! I'm glad you're wearing cute clothes-you deserve to and I bet you look hot, gorgeous and very pretty in them--I've seen the pretty smiley face peeps!!!
I think for all of us it def is gonna take time to get used to our new "figures"--you know the change in the head is def way harder than doing the diet and exercise thing(it's def my struggle too at the mo.) But it's great we have the support cos I really think if you've never been overweight you just don't get it!!

Oh I love that feeling when they're too big!! Actually mine are kinda like that now--but I don't really think they're that flattering now--give me a weird(er!) backside! I can't buy jeans in Germany cos of my short legs!! That would just be way to much material to chop off!!!

Hi Kamills...South Beach will be my maintenace plan when I get to goal...I think it is a good and healthy plan but at the moment I am looking for super fast weightloss...that is why I chose Stillman's. I will keep you informed with regards to the Dukan Diet. I will be checking out the thread Al mentioned earlier. Also, as I said earlier, I will NOT be leaving here and that is a promise...I love you guys way too much.

Hi GT...I think it's the day with and the day without veg that really won me over. The article says that "each cycle works like the injection-combustion of a two speed engine, burning up its calorie quota". This phase boasts losses of around 20 pounds every two months while the first phase claims you can lose around 7lb a week.

I wear my cute clothes that aren't always flattering and I feel like people know I was fat and wonder how I have the nerve to wear them. Does that make sense? I've been trying real hard to accept myself and I just have to keep telling myself that no one else sees my flaws. (or if they do, they dont care about my flaws) This is the hardest part to get a grip on.hugs:[/QUOTE]

OO.. Al. . That is exactly how I feel. . .We really need to get over it but is so darn difficult! I still wear my clothes way too big and often wondered if I'll ever get comfortable enough in my new skin to wear more flattering clothes.. . Yep. .the flaws that we see are invisible to everyone else. .I am pretty sure my tight outfit I got for next weekend looks nice ..I just want to be comfortable in it. . but, if you really want to know something. . .it wouldn't matter what I wore. .I'd still fee self conscious. . We need help! Are there any therapists out there?
