Forgot to explain my new avatar. It's a picture of a window display of hand-made, hand painted Venetian masks. DH took it and if you look closely, on the left you will see a reflection of me. It almost looks ghostly and it's harder to see with the avatar space being so small. I'm gonna post it in my album and maybe when clicked on it will be easier to see. I really like it, though!

NoSugar: Wow!!! 4.6 pounds down! That's amazing!
![]() ![]() ![]() I have some NO carb protein powder but I have not used it while on QWL. I was thinking because it's whey and whey is made out of milk that it might not be legal. Does anyone else use protein drinks? |

Al: I've been really bad about the vitamins lately, too. Don't know why. Some times I'm just rebellious, I think. Gonna dig them out today, though. They are all still in my suitcase.

I'm down another pound! That is four since Sunday. Gee, if I would have started when I said I was going to I would have already hit the ten pound mark! Oh well, I'm on plan now and plan to stay that way!

Thanks! We do travel a lot. Yesterday I was planning a trip for DD and her DH. They have 3 kids and we were talking about how great it is to get away and "rekindle" . So, they are going to Hawaii and I'm gonna keep the kids! I love taking care of my grandkids when I get a chance. Next week I will have all 5 of them here and I can't wait.

Found this interesting health video and the doc is talking about thermogenisis and metabolic rate. He explains about how protein causes the body to burn more calories than any other food. It's worth listening to:

I've been reading again. . . . here is my find!
There is a potion that magically strips away pounds from your body, improves your overall health, lengthens your life, makes you more attractive to the opposite sex, and keeps you lean forever. Even better, you can have as much of this magic weight-loss potion as you want, for free, and start stripping away pounds—perhaps even several dozen pounds this year alone—without exercise, without dieting, without visiting the set of Nip/Tuck. What is this magical elixir? It’s water. Really? Really. You don't even need to mix in that fancy fat-burning stuff from the vitamin store. In fact, the less you supplement your food and beverage intake, the more weight you’ll lose (and the more money you’ll save). Step 1: Swear Off the Soda and Iced Tea (Annual Weight Loss: 18 Pounds!) The National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey measured where most of our calories come from. Researchers broke up America’s food intake into 143 different categories and discovered, to their horror, that the category making up the largest percentage of our calorie intake—7.1 percent, to be exact—was not a food at all. It was soda. (Vegetables, on the other hand, accounted for only 6.5 percent of our intake. Chicken and fish together only added up to 5.7 percent.) To put that into perspective, if you ate an average of 2,500 calories a day, and you cut 7 percent of your calories, you’d automatically drop down to 2,325, a difference that would save you 1.5 pounds per month. You could be 9 pounds lighter in 6 months by going cold-turkey today! Another thing to remember: You're far better off eating your vitamins than drinking them. Step 2: Drink 8 Cups of Water Every Day (Annual Weight Loss: 26 Pounds!) Yes, the magic elixir really does have amazing powers. In one study, a group of 173 overweight women were put through diet and nutrition training using mainstream diet programs. Researchers then followed them for 10 months, with dietary and body composition being recorded up to 12 months after the classes. All women in the program lost weight, but those drinking more water lost more weight. Drinking more than 1 liter of water per day (nearly 4˝ cups) was associated with an extra 5.07 pounds lost in 12 months. And researchers from the University of Utah found that people who drink the most water have higher metabolisms. In a study, subjects drank 4, 8, or 12 cups of water each day. Those who drank at least 8 cups reported better concentration and higher energy levels, and tests showed that they were burning more calories than the 4-cups-a-day group.

Morning, peeps. . Well scale stayed the same. . Whatever.. stupid scale any-weigh. .I'm gonna stay on track. keep tracking and keep on truckin! I have a super busy day. . have a luncheon at noon (which I was in charge of ordering the food for) Guess what i ordered: A meat/cheese tray and a condiment, veggie tray
I packed Tuna and Talapia and Chicken just in case I'm tempted by the deli meat. . Either way. . it won't be the end of the world if I eat any. .Sodium levels will be up so I will try to stay strong and avoid it at all costs. . I can have 1 cup of veggies so all is good with the world!! Good luck, today everyone!!! I'm going to try my best to stay Pure to the Doc. . not even a bite. . smells are free . .besides. . nothing tastes good enough to mess with this bod!!! ![]() |

Hey guys!
![]() Scale was down 1.4 pounds today ![]() Getting closer to the 160s and I'm kind of speechless about it. So many of my clothes are baggy on me, I'm in a size 14, which still seems crazy big to me ha. I tried on my goal jeans (size 11) but they still don't fit, barely cover my butt! But I'll get there ![]() and boy I cannot wait, those are some hot jeans. Listen people, little confession... I haven't worn jeans in years. I know like 99% of this country wears jeans on a daily basis and I haven't worn them in years! When I was a kid, I hated the way denim felt.... but then in college, I started wearing them... Then after I gained weight, I had a hard time finding jeans that fit, mostly cuz I carry a lot of weight in my butt/thighs so when I would find a pair that fit there, I'd have a hug gap where the jeans didn't even touch my back, because my waist was always much smaller. So I gave up on jeans. As you can imagine, after 4 years of not wearing them, I'm getting really excited at the possibility of wearing them again!Okay, bbl!

Was just thinking there as I was typing that!! This really is a great thread, I love the way we are so happy for each other when we reach mini goals--it's great!!....and really funny too that we're so happy for each other, but don't really know each other at all. It's strange, isn't it??!!
