Day 7
I may have made an error in eating something which I thought was cottage cheese when I bought it, but it turned out to be something else. Not sure what. It was good. But probably not something I'm going to repeat until I have a massive sweet craving and I'm worried I might derail. As a result, whether it was more psychological than a physical reaction, I ended up eating a lot more than usual. Though, nothing too drastic. I will weigh myself tomorrow despite feeling that I will have gained about 2 lbs. I know that would be unrealistic. I need to deal with the gains as well as the losses.
Menu: B: 1 boiled egg L: 3 boiled eggs. Chicken broth. 500gms Queso fresco batido (what I thought was cottage cheese) D: 200gms chicken. Chicken broth. 3 boiled eggs. Liquids: 1.5 litres sugar/carb/calorie free iced tea (I don't usually drink this, because I'm suspicious of it, but it tastes soooo good). 5 litres water. Total calories: 1168 So... how is everyone else today? What are your specific goals? |

I doubt it very much. I walk to work, which is 40 minute brisk walk on Tues, Thurs and Fri, and 1 hr 20 mins on Mon and Weds. So I'm relatively active. I might try and start jogging in June... but that's getting a little ahead of myself. You'll lose weight without exercise on this diet.

ok back for check in....i think i may have screwed up, but hopefully not too bad.
Had the boiled eggs for breakfast. For lunch I had turkey slices with 1 slice of cheese melted on it. And for dinner I had some pork loin i put in the crock pot, also had about a spoonful of ketchup... Did 30 min of my ellipitcal machine and drank 3 liters of water so far... Did I screw up on my menu?? |

Myers - what type of cheese? and was it low carb ketchup? I'd try and avoid them in the future, but I wouldn't say it was a screw up. It's only your first day.
Here's the rule about cheese for Stillman's: 5. COTTAGE CHEESE, FARMER CHEESE, POT CHEESE made with skim milk and no whole milk. And here are his comments about condiments: You may use common seasonings such as salt, pepper, spices, other herbs, cocktail sauce, horseradish, ketchup. Don't use any creamy or oily sauces or dressings. No mayonnaise, no salad dressings, no oils, no fats. However, I'd be careful about both cocktail sauce and ketchup as they are high sugar and high carb nowadays. Bear in mind that Stillman wrote this diet in the 60's. He doesn't mention mustard or hot sauce, both of which I use with no problem. |

That's great news about the loss Myers! Nausea is normal. It'll pass, don't worry. Keep it up! Do you have any mini goals? 150lbs is a lot to tackle all at once. It helps to have some smaller goals, and is great for motivation as you meet them... But everyone does it their own way so tell me to shut it if you don't agree
![]() I've had a killer headache tonight... I think it's from not drinking any diet drinks though. Last edited by kamills; 05-25-2010 at 03:47 PM.. |

Hello, I just started Stillman's on Monday. In Sept. of '09 I started Atkins at 209. I hit 176 back in Feb. but I have been stuck at 178-185 since then fluctuations all the time. I was doing research this weekend and came across Stillman's. I am 180 right now and hoping to break this weight stall.

Hi Terry! Welcome to the challenge.
Today was really difficult emotionally. I had to really battle not to break. I am feeling a little frustrated with the small increments of weight I've lost in my last two weigh ins considering the lack of food! Hopefully I'll see a loss tomorrow. Weight: 211.2 Menu: B: Vitamins L: 3 boiled eggs with mustard. Chicken broth. D: 250 gms chicken breast. Chicken broth Liquids: 500 mls diet coke. 5 litres water. 3 cups tea. Total cals: 615 Swebb, Meek, Sassy, Becker, where are you? Check in girls! |

Is that about average??....Its almost 10 am here and I havent eaten anything cause the though of eggs makes me gag lmao....but going to eat anyways so im not completely starving later.
Kamills: your doing great! Dont give up!! A pound or 2 lost is better than weight gained!! HUGS girlie! Terry: Welcome!!!! |

Hi Myers. That is a fantastic loss. I am losing nearly a pound a day (averages out). Maybe if you're sick of the eggs, eat more fish and meat...? I'm down to 3 eggs a day, but could eat more. Don't seem to get sick of them! Im not a breakfast person so usually skip it! Are you finding the diet difficult to stick to so far? KUTGW!!!!!!

Hi Al, Glad to see you are staring the challenge in the face. I didn't weigh myself on the first two days, but have weighed since day 3, and lost 6.4 in 7 days. Hope to keep it going over the weekend, even though it'll be more difficult while visiting my boyfriend. A good test of my willpower, I say! So Al, what's your first goal? And by when?

You can do it Kam! Just think meat!!! Will you be dining out or staying home? It'll be tough but dont stop a good thing now! You are on a roll!!!
Goals..Let me think..I'll start small... Must continue to drink my coffee black. Must drink a plain bottle of water for every bottle of crystal light. Must not include beef until I lose 10 pounds. Must do some form of exercise every day. Walking to start. |

Great goals Al! BF already knows I'm on a strict diet, so no eating out and I'll be doing all the cooking. I'm pretty determined not to get waylaid at the first obstacle on Stillman's, and my BF is supportive, so it shouldn't be too difficult. I am my biggest obstacle, that's the problem!

CONGRATULATIONS Myers! That's incredible. Keep it up and don't do what I did.
![]() I am the bearer of bad news. I broke, big time. But am back to it again. No more eating until tomorrow. And I can't weigh again til Monday as I'm away for the weekend, but will be able to check in. Keep me accountable for staying on track, PLEASE! I think I need to stop weighing everyday. It really gets me down when I don't see the scale moving, or like this morning when it goes up for no reason whatsoever. I'm so sorry. I feel like such a failure right now. |

You are so NOT a failure!!! You have come a long way already!! I used to be less than you and just gave up and now im over 300 pounds!! We all have bad days and fall off the wagon. Just dust yourself off and get back on track. Maybe you are restricting yourself too much with the food. Does doing regular low carb help you better?? Maybe induction foods will work out better. I know this is a stillmans thread but its just a few of us in here anyways lol.......chin up girlie!!! HUGS!!!

I get too tempted on Atkins induction. I like the simplicity of Stillman's. Now that the binge is out of my system, I'll get right back on track. I realise that it wasn't worth it. Plis I'm kicking myself even more. This morning I went to get waxed and my beautician (who I haven't seen in two months) said I'd lost a load of weight. So at least that's giving me the motivation to continue.

The first two weeks on this diet yeilds great results, and then the good doc promises up to 5 pounds a week if following the plan strictly!!! I think I lost 16 pounds the first two weeks when i started. I have such a good feeling about you! You are gonna rock this! I completely forgot to check out this thread earlier- so sorry! Im usually hangin in May's Stillman thread! Keep up the good work!!! So today is Day 2 and Im still feeling good. Cravings were through the roof last night but I kept my fingers busy online here. No cravings now, but the real temptation is when I get home. The plan is tuna in a bit and then turkey for dinner. I drank 2 bottles of plain water and 2 Crystal Lights. Trying to drink a bottle of h20 and then reward myself with the CL. Gotta get those ounces in somehow!!!! |

Just checking in.......
I am down .5 pounds - I need to lose 1 more pound to meet my mini-goal of 40 pounds in 2.5 months.....I am almost there!!! Then the next mini-goal is to be in ONEDERLAND by my birthday in July.....I might have to actually start exercising to make this goal happen ![]() I, too get frustrated by small losses and gains but I TRY to look at the overall loss and celebrate THAT.
