I am having difficulty but I dont feel like I have the right to complain. Its really tough being at goal and not knowing how to handle it. I know (and Im reminded by some) that I dont need to lose more, but I still want to lose more. Then Im told Im tooo skinny and its my excuse to eat garbage. Its really been tough. Much tougher than starting this diet last July and sticking with meat. I need to be in control and QWL is the only thing I can keep in control. Adding cream in my coffee is driving me nuts!!! Sorry Im rambling.... Im so confused about what to do and how to handle it. Not looking for answers just whinging....
The sugar is warping your brain, Al. . you are on a buzz which is causing you to think irrational and disturbing thoughts! I think, for you, because you have so much control . I would suggest adding a few carbs back into your diet. I would still eat the low fat meat and stay away from anything high fat (like the ATkins diet allows) and start adding good veggies/greens first. . In one of the books, it says to add 5 grams per week.. when you are at goal and then taper off if you have a gain. You can't live on meat for the rest of your life and I know your family is concerned your are not getting the right nutrients. I really have been reading up on the long term effects of certain diets. . and low carb is the way to keep your weight off. However, every one of them stresses that you must add a variety of greens, grains and protein to be successful. Treats should be treats and should not happen every day. My problem is one slip causes other slips causes binges. . We can't do that any longer. For the rest of our lives. . we have food issues and we need to control them. . Also, don't weigh yourself every day and don't drive yourself crazy. You know your body and you know how you feel. Weigh in once a week and guage your carb intake on that. . Carbs under 30 a day should still result in weight loss. . I am considering the every other day rotation with veggies, myself. . If I remember correctly, i was losing when I had some very lean ones..

Al: have you read Atkins induction? I think if you did a combo of Atkins/Stillmans. . (like I said. .minus the fatty meats, cheeses) and stick to a few oz of cheese, some nuts, berries and veggies. . .your mouth will have a party and you will feel like you are cheating but I think you will level off once your body gets over the shock of carbs. You have been off carbs too long for it not to react. . but look how fast it come off after your trip when you got serious again. . I need you to do this for me so that I can handle maintenance when I am there. . We will stick by you. .you can do it. . you are less of a woman than I am!!! I mean that in the most loving way possible. Let's kick these dumb a$$ cravings and carbs to the curb and think Healthy! You've lost the weight now lets get you Hot!!! SSSSSSSssssssss

I'm a fine one to talk, aren't I? You have the metabolism to pull it off. .I just know it O. .and take your vitamins.. we want you to have fine hair and great nails when you sizzle.

Wow. .I can't say that I've honestly every been hungry, hungry unless I've skipped one of my meat feeds. . After 3 days of QWL. . the feeling goes away. . maybe you can do it longer? I think I'm more emotionallyl hungry than physically. There are a lot of times at at my office working and someone will heat up lunch and then I have to do the same thing because I smell it. . But thinking about it. . I'm really not hungry. . just bad habits that take time to overcome. Breakfast used to be first thing in the morning for me. .Now it is more like 11 when I actualyl start feeling hungry. I had to stop eating first thing due to my meds. . so it works out. Now I need to get out of the night eating habit.. I find myself wanting something just because I'm unwinding from the day. wish I could learn to skip anything after supper. .I'm working on it. .

5 hours later and 5 more pages! This is a very lively place indeeeeed.

I can't remember who said what so thanks to any shout outs! Going back to boyfriends and weight, all I can say is screeeeeeeew them and their freakishly fast metabolisms. I like my skinny men, always have and always will though. So it's my own fault for shacking up with those who eat three times as much and weigh three times as less.

I want to eat everything in sight, which is what I'm doing, as long as it's legal. Calories are wayyyyyyyyyyy high today. I really can't wait for the lack of appetite to kick in. Now I feel really really full, but not too guilty as I haven't eaten off Stillman's.

Menu:

B: 3 boiled eggs
L: 3 boiled eggs and 400gms chicken breast cooked in chicken broth
D: 6 boiled eggs and 200gms hake cooked in chicken broth
Liquids: 1.5 litres lipton sugar free iced tea (0g carbs), maybe 1 litre of diet coke, and 3 litres of water.

Total calories: 1925

I'm pretty sure I'm done for the day. I'm going to go brush my teeth and jump into bed to prevent and more eating!!!!!!!!! Greedy little piggy needs to learn some restraint!

Keep up the awesome work girlies!

It's this spanish cheese called Queso Blanco (white cheese) and you can fry it. Being that I'm half Puerto Rican, my Dad always has it in the house. Salty But 0 carbs. My sister fried it for the first time today and Omg, you put it in a non stick pan and it was such a Tasty 0 carb treat.

I feel the same way, when I eat bacon or have a small salad or cream in my coffee, I feel that I am cheating. But remember, they are still 0 carbs or very low carbs. I have no problem losing on Atkin's. My only problem is when it gets real hot outside and I drink tons of water, I stay away from Salty things because I lose Very slowly. And as soon as I start Atkin's, I completely lose my appetite. I just eat to eat sometimes and I got to stop doing that. This is the cheese before and after frying it. mmmmmmmmmmm

The salad was amazing and very satisfying! I am glad I had it. Al, I think I got the wrong book... Was it the one before this that I was supposed to get? Are there two books with similar titles? This one is after you've lost most of the weight, right? grr

This is my plan. Yesterday would have been the 13th day but I had a salad and some fat (mostly bacon). 2lb gain on the scale today but lots of sodium was involved. I'm planning on going 8-9 days now as I have Memorial Day plans that will involve lots of drinking and grilling out, so that will be a high fat weekend. The cravings the first week were bad, I was always hungry, coming off Atkins but I'm rarely ever hungry these days and it's a beautiful thing. Don't have to worry about finding something to eat and saving tons of money!

mmmmmmmmmmm, it's kind of Like mozzarella sticks, minus the breadcrumb! It's still 0 carbs after you fry this cheese. The name brand is Tropical Queso Blanco, hopefully they sell it in your Supermarket.

mmmmmmmmmmm, I had to google that and it looks just like the Spanish cheese I eat. mmmmmmmmmmm, I bet it does have the same taste and texture. Does it kinda squeak in your mouth when you chew it lol? Thank God there is no more left in my house because I'd have eaten the whole thing.

For some reason, I either use a little bit of half n half (like 1-2 carbs) OR I use my fave, creamora (powdered version of creamer, 1-2 carbs) and it never affects my weight loss. I just make sure to drink only 1 cup of coffee a day, 2 if I'm realllllly craving it.
Thanks! I'm a big coffee lover. I think because I used it to help feel full when I first started losing weight that it makes it harder for me to give it up because I'm also psychologically addicted to it. I bought some half and half to keep at work so I don't fall victim to the skim milk if I'm really craving it, but I'm going to try to cut down. By cut down I mean, I'm not drinking any of it tonight!

Just downed about 2L of water today so far- bought my 3rd bottle so I have one to take with me tonight when I am out. I'm going to dinner, hopefully they will have a shrimp cocktail for me

Best cheese in the world for frying!! I'm done eating for the night! I feel like I ate so much, but I think it's because I ate too much fat/sodium today. Shame on me. I just had a bowl of tuna fish with chopped celery, onions and lettuce, hotsauce and 4 green olives stuffed with garlic.
I know I didn't go over in carbs but I over did it with the sodium today so I won't be drinking any more water tonight so that I won't retain any. I am finishing off my iced coffee that I made earlier. Garnetbeauty, I love my coffee too and If I don't have any first thing in the morning, I will literally get a headache. I stick with my powdered creamer, instead of half n half, unless I'm out of powdered creamer, because it's 0 fat.

I drink my coffee black but thought those of you who need cream or "flavor" might find this info helpful:

Liquid Coffee Mate coffee creamer comes in both regular and flavored.

Both liquid and powder Coffee Mate coffee creamers are Kosher according to the Orthodox Union (as indicated by the “O.U.” symbol). And both powered and liquid coffee mate coffee creamers are “low carb” diet or lifestyle friendly. The powdered coffee creamer has 1 gram and the liquid coffee creamer has “0” gram of carbohydrate.

Land O Lakes Mini Moos coffee creamer is a Grade A real dairy half and half coffee creamer that will add the right touch to your coffee drinking experience. Mini moos coffee creamer is made from milk but can be stored at room temperature and served without refrigeration. They are not a Kosher product. However, they are ideal for ‘low carb’ diet or lifestyle. Each container has ‘0’ grams of carbohydrate.

Also, try Atkins flavored shakes in your coffee - you can make a low carb latte

I do not give up my gum. I can't. I just Hate how my breath feels and tastes eating too much LC foods. I get trident or any gum that has 1 carb per stick. I eat half of it while at work and the other half on my way home from work. Sometimes, depends on how good I am doing, I have 2 sticks. Stress eating, Tell me about it!! And we all have stress in our lives, that's why we will be on this site forever!!

Thanks for the info!! I didn't know those little mini moos were 0 crabs!! My powdered creamer has 1 carb per tsb but I like my coffee light, so I use about 3 or more tsps. per cup of coffee  That's why I try to have only 1 cup per day.

For fast food I LOVE KFC's grilled chicken . It is my new "go to" food when I am out and about.

Here is the nutritional info:

KFC Grilled Chicken - KFC.com

Apologies to those on the list that are not in the States............

The only problem is that I can easily finish 2 of the breasts (SODIUM!!!) in one sitting...........

I try and limit myself to one POT per day

BTW - meant to tell you that in your photo you look like Alyssa Milano.

YAY Al you're back!!!

In the not so distant past I was what you would call an "emotional" eater. Mostly stress eater.........

So today I was STRESSED big time. While at the dog show 2 weeks ago my 11 month old, almost champion thought she could fly and jumped a retaining wall - not realizing that it was a 15-20 foot drop on the other side to broken up asphalt and concrete dumped there by the hotel. She broke both her bones in her right front leg - ACK!! No time for stressing as I had to rush her to the vet and then to an Orthopedic Specialist (remember I am out of town so I am relying on word of mouth). Long story short, the Orthopedic Surgeon is one of the best in the country and today I got the final bill - $2700!!!! NOW I am STRESSED. Thank goodness my pantry is empty and I have LOTS of cooked meat in the fridge.

I am hoping the WHOOSH Fairy takes pity on me tonight.............

BTW - After 12 WEEKS of crate rest, a plate in her leg and 2 months of rehab the puppy should be 100%. I know it could have been MUCH worse - and for that I am grateful.

WOW the insurance premiums would have been cheaper, maybe? If you do it for a living maybe your business insurance could help? Time to talk to a broker?
