Al! My big cheat for the day shall be grilled burgers with bacon today. .it just sounds so darn good and hubby really wanted to make something for our anniversary. . See. . I'm easy. . burgers! Heheh. . he should have known by now. .I've been eating crazy for 18 years. . always on some kinda diet. He actually likes this one, though cuz he can eat what I eat, too! We are going to have a salad too. .I really need some greens so I'm gonna have some. Nothing major . .just enough to enjoy it.

speaking of salad. . I'm reading another good book with good tips.. (can you guys tell I finally cleaned my book shelf?). . Anyway, . .this one is called: The Low-Carb Bible - your all in one guide to successful low carb dieting. . While it does not address the Stillman's Diet specifically, it covers Atkins, Suzanne Sommers, Sugar Busters and a bunch of others - O and South Beach. . quite interesting. . it is giving me some new ideas when I get to goal. . . it also specifically addresses the need for Calcium, fat which is needed to transport vitamins A, D, E and K and is required for absorbtion. It goes on to explain that not all fat is created equal (which we know) but that we do need some fat to lost weight. . the key is to keep it under control. . .Low dairy diets means losing out on bone-building calcium and vitamin D. Consuming fewer than five to nine suggested serving of fruits and veggies leads to reduce intakes of beneficial antioxident vitamins and phytonutrients componds found only in plant foods and considered valuable weapons in the battle against heart disease and cancer. another section states: If you do go low carb, make sure you check with your doctor who will monitor your cholesterol levels and your bone mass and will check to make sure you are not developing kidney stones. You need to keep up your fluids to help flush this out. Eating extra protein places a burden on the liver and kidneys. Your body does not store protein so these organs work harder to process it. The liver and kidneys rid the body of uric acid and ammonia, the substances that are left after the body digest proteins. This is why it is important to make sure meds or anything else you are doing does not add extra burden.. . and drink your water!!!

Just throwing that out there. . I think it can't hurt to check all this stuff out. . and be informed. .

so. . Take your vitamins . I've been after hubby to do the same. . Can't afford any bone loss. . .I've read that in several books

Im2fat, I think that's a great way of cheating. I'm learning new and better techniques at cheating, too. I used to binge on Swiss Rolls and candy. Now I cheat by eating fruit. It's a step in the right direction!

I have a birthday coming up in a couple weeks and need to find a good way of cheating for that one. I'm leaning toward the bingeing but that never satisfies, and only hurts, and hurts, and hurts.

Can you believe I sent DH to store and he forgot the salad. . O My.. I was just dreaming about it and he forgot to buy some :-( I was a little bummed but all is OK now as I am stuffed with burgers. . Mmmm. .they were good.. . . .just like my family. they are all full now and left me in the dining room all alone to clean up the mess.. (((sigh)))) so typical but I guess that's what it means to be the mom.. .my work is always waiting :-) do you ever wonder if your kids are going to "get it?".. ever? Mmmmm

That's what its all about.. Learning to control what we put into our mouths no ifs, ands or buts about it. I just wish I'd remember how it feels when I do eat something I shouldn't.. like about a half hour after. . I need that feeling as I spooning stuff into the pie hole. .. .

I got my results back from my blood work (2nd time) and everything is back to normal. . my cholesterol, HDL and all that related stuff is good, no problem with sugar levels and my thyroid is within the normal region now. . Mixed blessings with that one. . I was kinda hoping I had more of an excuse for my slow loss. . I guess I have to step up my game now. . .

Denise.. It is so on. . Bring it. . I've been doing shake weight this and shake weight that all day. My bat wings don't stand a chance

OMG AtIt I totally know what you mean-I lost six pounds the first week and then it ws stall city. Now you knw what YMMV (your mileage may vary) means-some people lose well on DANDR and some don't.

Stillmans is much quicker and oh so much more simple!

Calories are a personal thing. See GwnStfni's menu posts, she's rockin' it huge at 500-700 cals/day. Basically, lesss cals=bigger losses.

Thank you, I am so glad I found the ladies I could scream. Or eat

But you have the one secret weapon we will never have-testosterone.

Did you know that it enables men to lose weight thirty percent more efficiently than women? Testosterone promotes muscle development (buff manly men) while estrogen promotes fat development in an effort to protect the baby making machine (curvy baby momma).

NEVER go on a diet with your mate! It's potential suicide!

Hi at it,
Remember that I'm a newbie here, so one of the regulars will help you more but, the only food I saw that isnt QWL is the canadian bacon. Otherwise it seems fine to me. I know they recomend a lot of tuna and chicken breast.

Been there and doing that.

The one missing link is your activity. Without any you are at too many cals. The ladies, I'm sure, would agree-thighs are too much fat. I have read them stating this in previous posts.

With that said, there is one thing I have also seen on these threads that you ALL need to find out about.

****** SUCKS!

Google My Plate and sign up at Livestrong.com

It's soooooooooo easy. Everything food is on their charts. It never logs you out. You can input your fitness and water. It calculates your percentages of protein/fat/carbs in an easy to read pie chart. Here is my whole cheatin' day on it:

FoodServingsCalsFatCholSodiumCarbsSugFiberProt
Unclassified Totals 926.354.86668.193438.99.190089.17

Fitness Minutes Cals Burned
Totals 1068

PLEASE you all have got to try it you will love love LOVE it!!!!!!!

Testosterone, I knew that would come in handy. No problem dieting with the dw, she's a toothpick. She's eating her mothers day present now...strawberries dipped in chocolate.
