YES! I noticed that, too. In fact, it helps with the hunger if I can visualize the fat being burned up and the ketones taking them to my kidneys and OUT forever!

Up until this weekend I was doing fine on Stillman's. But then the holiday weekend hit and JUNK FOOD arrived
I can usually take or leave this stuff but it is CRUNCHY and I think I am missing that aspect of eating. Also, the bar by the pool was going full tilt with my daughters and their friends. I did have 1/2 glass frozen Pina Colada (it was good - can't lie). I know I am knocked out of ketosis but today will be better eating for me.This weekend showed me that I need to be better prepared for the summer (when family and friends will want to hang out and party) and the value of letting those around me know that I am dieting and really watching what I eat and drink. I am lucky that my family and friends respect this - they know my health is at stake. Now I just have to work on ME respecting myself and sticking to the PLAN (IT WORKS). The high fat/ higher calories made me feel bloated and sluggish. I think my body was saying YUCK! I also think my weight loss was slowing down because I wasn't changing up my daily calorie count enough - so I am going to start upping my calories every couple of days by eating more LEAN meat and see if that helps. |

Successful Stillman's day for me. Though I have a splitting headache. Not sure if it's from the travelling and lack of sleep or after 2 days of not eating to plan. I seem to have had more headaches recently. Need to start tracking when i get them.
Menu: B: Boiled egg L: Pollock. Chicken broth. Sn: 2 boiled eggs with mustard D: Pollock. Chicken broth. Liquids: 5 litres water. 500 mls diet coke. 3 cups of tea. Calories: 592 Carbs: 5.1 Not much of an appetite and no cravings. Does anyone track their carbs? |

A Harley biker is riding by the zoo in Washington, DC when he sees a little girl leaning into the lion's cage. Suddenly, the lion grabs her by the collar of her jacket and tries to pull her inside to slaughter her, under the eyes of her screaming parents.
The biker jumps off his Harley, runs to the cage and hits the lion square on the nose with a powerful punch. Whimpering from the pain the lion jumps back letting go of the girl, and the biker brings her to her terrified parents, who thank him endlessly. A reporter has watched the whole event. The reporter addressing the Harley rider says, 'Sir, this was the most gallant and brave thing I've seen a man do in my whole life.' The Harley rider replies, 'Why, it was nothing, really, the lion was behind bars. I just saw this little kid in danger and acted as I felt right.' The reporter says, 'Well, I'll make sure this won't go unnoticed. I'm a journalist, you know, and tomorrow's paper will have this story on the front page... So, what do you do for a living and what political affiliation do you have?' The biker replies, 'I'm a U.S. Marine and a Republican.' The journalist leaves. The following morning the biker buys the paper to see if it indeed brings news of his actions, and reads, on the front page: U.S. MARINE ASSAULTS AFRICAN IMMIGRANT AND STEALS HIS LUNCH ![]() |

How to Break A Weight Loss Plateau
February 25, 2009 | Comments (9) Woman - Frustrated with Weight LossWeight loss plateaus are the bain of every dieter existence. There is nothing more frustrating than doing everything that you are ’supposed’ to do but for whatever reason the weight loss just stops. Before we get into ho you can smash through your weight loss plateau it is important to determine if you have actually plateaued OR perhaps you haven’t actually been following your diet and/or training program. The first step is to do a gut check and make sure your compliance to your program is where it needs to be. If you haven’t been 90% compliant then stop reading this article and get back to focusing on doing what you actually said you were going to do. If you have been sticking to your program but have stopped losing weight then we have a problem. Homeostasis. The human body is all about achieving homeostasis (check out this article in regards to homeostasis and weight loss), so what we need to do is shake things up and get our systems un-homeostatic (not sure if that is a real word). Here are 4 ways that you can disrupt homeostasis and blast through your weight loss plateau. You aren’t meant to do all of them instead just pick one at at time. 1. Increase Calories for 7-10 Days This doesn’t mean go off your diet. Instead, increase your calories (no more than 500 calories per day), mainly from carbohydrates to give your system a ‘break’ from calorie restriction. After the 7-10 day period cut your calories back down and your weight loss will start back up. This strategy works well if you have been dieting for a long time. 2. Crank Up the Intensity Often times we find ourselves perpetually dieting (see the Lifetime Fat Loss article for a great example) and can just never seem to get those last 10 pounds off. In these situations cranking up the intensity on all fronts (diet and training) for a set amount of time is a great way to blast through a weight loss plateau. With this method we are basically shocking your system out of homeostasis. This is a great situation for Warp Speed Fat Loss (and one of the reason’s we developed it.) 3. Change Your Training Program Sticking to the same training program for too long used to be a very common problem. Now with all the training resources on the Internet, being on a program for too long isn’t an issue for many people (but it may be for you). You need to be switching up your program (set, reps, exercises, how many days a week you train, etc) every 4-6 weeks. If you do need a new program we have a large archive of 4 week fat loss workouts and a new one every month in the Faster Fat Loss Zone. 4. Reduce Your Carbs -This tip is the opposite of the first one, but works just as well. Dropping your carbs down to a ketogenic level will strongarm your system into using fat as its primary fuel source. This metabolic fuel switch works best if your carbs aren’t too low already (>100g/d). To further enhance the effect of this technique use the ketogenic diet induction protocol where you eat 20g/d of carbs or less for 2 weeks. Weight loss plateaus are frustrating but don’t let them discourage you or stop you from reaching your goal. If you have truly reached a plateau pick one of the techniques above and put it into action. When you hit another plateau, pick another one. Continue doing this until you have reached your goal. Remember that for the most part weight loss is not a linear process. Plateaus are a normal physiological occurrence but using the strategies in this article you can beat homeostasis and achieve the body you want. |

I got through the day without eating it. As for igniting it, I didn't have to waste brandy, daughter and husband ate it and with their scary Scandinavian metabolisms, they will "burn" it off!!
Thanks for the funny story about the lion!!! |

Kamills, I used to get headaches from carb withdrawals. Sorry you have to have them! Coffee helps. I do track my carbs with the Lose It app. It gives a weekly rundown, too, which would be good if I wasn't cycling between plans!
Nermo, I wish I did as well as you with the Cucumber Of Doom. Instead, I had sweet potato fries and broccoli slaw, and a whole wheat bun for my ground chuck burger. I did manage to stay away from the really bad stuff like the Cheddar Ruffles in the pantry!!! Thanks to my "day as a European" I didn't go overboard although I really wanted to. Tomorrow will be a clean Stillman's day and I intend to get some fat melting done. Welcome, fat-consuming hunger!! (Picturing PacMan eating fat cells...)![]()
