Well I am back again until I get this weight off. I am turning 40 at the end of the month and would like to hit this milestone in a better "weight" place than I am now. I started QWL this morning with a slight modification of only eating one meal a day, for today only. Need to flush out yesterday's candy buffet and salty ham dinner.
I ordered the Doctors Quick Weight Loss book yesterday from Amazon and it should be here in a few days. I am excited to have the hardcover copy, my paperback has seen its last days.

Hope everyone is doing well and has seen results, I have been on the hamster wheel and am finally getting off!

Very Important Info PLZZZ READ!

During a party, a friend stumbled and took a little fall - she assured everyone that she was fine and just tripped over a brick because of her new shoes. (they offered to call ambulance)

They got her cleaned up and got her a new plate of food - while she appeared a bit shaken up, Ingrid went about enjoying herself the rest of the evening. Ingrid's husband called later telling everyone that his wife had been taken to the hospital - (at 6:00pm , Ingrid passed away.)
She had suffered a stroke at the party. Had they known how to identify the signs of a stroke, perhaps Ingrid would be with us today.

Some don't die. They end up in a helpless, hopeless condition instead. It only takes a minute to read this...

STROKE IDENTIFICATION:

A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke...totally. He said the trick was getting a stroke recognized, diagnosed, and then getting the patient medically cared for within 3 hours, which is tough.

RECOGNIZING A STROKE

Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster.
The stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke.
Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions :
"3" steps,

Remember STR (first three letter of STROKE)
S * Ask the individual to SMILE .

T * = TALK. Ask the person to SPEAK A SIMPLE

SENTENCE (Coherently) (eg "It is sunny out
today").

R * Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS .

If he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these tasks, call the ambulance and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.

NOTE : Another 'sign' of a stroke is
1. Ask the person to 'stick' out their tongue.
2. If the tongue is 'crooked', if it goes to one side or the other that is also an indication of a stroke.

A prominent cardiologist says if everyone who gets this e-mail sends it to 10 people; you can bet that at least one life will be saved.

I really need to figure out why my weight loss has slowed down so much. Frustrating. Maybe I need to give up the red meat for a while

I think I will try Turkey, Chicken and Tuna for a few days and see if that helps.

I am eating several small meals a day and I usually have been getting in at least 96 ounces of water. I have cut WAY back on the coffee (3 cups instead of 24 ). This week I will begin getting some exercise so maybe that will speed up the loss.

Did anyone on here loss significant weight WITHOUT much exercise???

hey sharon,

I think you will see a loss soon, wait until you flush your system out! I have also lost a lot and now I have really slowed down! I think your body starts adjusting to this way of eating! I have cut out all diet soda and sugar free gum! I am planning to exercise. I am just running around all day at work and at home that when I have put my little ones to bed( a 8 year old girl who is going on 24 and a 7 year old boy) I am too exhausted! I am picking up belly dancing- I love it so it should be exercise and fun!!!!!

Ah!!! But therein lies the problem!!!! My hair does have a tendency to go very orange---oh I've had disasters!!! It's the irish red hair lurking about in my genes somewhere!!! I find it really hard to get light ash blonde---you saw it (kind of!) it's always more golden than ash!!!

Sharon, I think you're doing everything right! Yes, I lost most of my weight without exercising and my last go (7 years ago), I lost the first 40ish pounds without exercise. I think it's just a tiny stall and you'll be losing quickly again in no time!

Hi ladies! Day off today... Weight was the same, which I'm okay with. I am going to go shopping in a little bit and buy a new scale. I was actually secretly hoping to not see 199 today on the scale and then buy a new scale and find out my old one was off a few pounds and I really never was in ONEderland... what a cruel joke that'd be. lol. Yesterdays calories were at 1,000. I had 2 eggs, 3 slices of canadian bacon and coffee for breakfast, 5oz lean pork for lunch, 5oz chicken breast w/ 1/2 slice provolone & 1 slice deli ham for dinner. I know I slipped a bit for dinner, but I knew I was doing a high fat day today. Woke up and went for a pretty intense bike ride today for an hour... lots of hills and it was windy this morning and the wind was not cooperating with me, at all!

Okay... I'm kind of nervous about buying a new scale, I gotta confess... What if my old scale was like 10lbs off, and I'm really 210 agh!

Welcome Cat!

al, did you take your vitamins today??

Alright ladies... off to do some shopping and run errands. Have a great day everyone.

Getting There, did you lose all your weight doing Stillman's? How long can you go staying on plan? When I did it before I did Meat and Egg fast Mon, Tue, Wed and Atkins '72 the rest of the week.

I lost about 5 pounds per week (keeping my calories in the 1200 range and working out 5x's a week) It was a tough pace for me but it worked.

I wonder if I would have lost more than 5 pounds a week (I know it's too much to expect) staying on Meat and Egg fast for more than 3 days at a time, or if it helped me not stall by mixing it up with the Atkins '72.

Any thoughts?

Hi miggs! I lost the weight doing Stills plus a salad-so eggs, chick, turkey and tuna..and some lettuce, cukes tomatoes and peppers. Started in Nov.08-kept completely on plan til May..(no cheats) then I stalled so cut the salad...basically kept on plan (except hols!) til Nov.-then there were some cheats!! I can go for a long time really on plan....didn't really cheat since Xmas until I was at the airport a couple of weeks ago (oops!) I can manage it now-as in if theres a slip I start right back on plan. The no hunger thing is the best about Stills. I've always done the low-fat---tried upping the fat a few weeks ago but it doesn't really work for me!!
Well done for losing 5lbs a week--I don't think I ever did that--maybe I did at the beginning, didn't really weigh that much so dunno. The loss has really slowed down since Nov-was about 154 then---but in the last few weeks I've lost lots of inches so happy about that, would like the scale to catch up tho!!!
My cals are very low-about 800 sometimes lower--I've tried upping them a few times but then I lose nothing--and I do a ton of exercise.
A lot of people here are mixing up Atkins and Stills--I don't really like the fat-except mayo with my tuna(still can't eat it dry!), I'd rather have some veggie carbs!!
But hey you've got this thing down--you've done it before!! So all your thoughts are very welcome!!

Yeah it's tough--I def have had to learn to love exercise!!! Naturally I'm lazy!! But it so pays off--and it really has begun to for me now-so I would definitely say it's worth it--no question!!

Whew-eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!! Last time I posted there were 3 pages....lots of fun chatting going on here...wigs, bras, wardrobe malfunctions...lol! This is the place to be if you need a laugh or two! Love it!

My weekend was awesome! Took the grandies to an Easter Egg Hunt on Sat. We had a blast and besides all the goodies, as in candy, each one won a prize. Big baskets with sports stuff like a real basketball! And, we happen to have a hoop so, yay. Really needed a new ball for the kids and they love it.

Yesterday the whole gang came over. Kids, kids-in-love, grandkids, granddoggie (she's a darling little puggle). I made 2 hams totalling 12 pounds. It turned out super delicious. Thanks to Stillman, I was not hungry!! Stuck to several slices of ham, about 3 bites of potato and a small salad. We did have cake and ice cream for desert, but I only took a few bites.

We did another Easter egg hunt in our big front yard right before it started pouring down rain. Got very windy, Thunder, lightning. Temp dropped to about 30!!! Wicked, wicked weather. When the wind picked up I thought we were having a tornado!!

Anyway, I slept like a rock (more like a boulder? ) last night.

Now I'm working on cleaning up the aftermath. It's amazing how kids can totally wreck the house with all their toys, making play tents, strewing Mr. and Mrs. Potato head everywhere...making the closets their secret hide-away...(I give them flashlights for fun, but they throw all my stuff out and when they leave I have to put it away!)

Anyway, feel like I'm getting in some good exercise while cleaning up. I'm wearing my FIT-flops. Any of you have these? They are awesome. Your legs get a work out and if you wear them all day, the next day you can totally feel all your muscles (hurting) in a good way! You can buy them on amazon.com.

So, worried a little about the salty ham and maybe being bloated, so I was not gonna step on the scale today. Couldn't resist and guess what? I'm down another 1/2 pound! Woo-Hoo! Gotta remember to change my stats. I just feel like this week is going to be a great week and April is going to be Amazing!!I'm in the right place with all you Amazing Achievers!!

I have not started any formal exercising yet since starting Stillman's in March, but my body is telling me I'm on the verge. I just have so much energy and not that much of an appetite. So, the body is saying, "Move it! Move it!" Now I need to follow through, make the time and put my rear in gear.

Right now I gotta go get some work done, but will BBL for sure! Don't want to have to catch up on another 10 pages that fill up while I'm gone. Don't want to miss out on anything either!!

Hugs, Buds!!
