Well, I felt motivated and got my evening workout in. I took my bike out for an hour ride around the city. The bike will probably be out every single day now through fall. I love riding around the city, especially since it's pretty flat so it's a pretty comfortable ride and I find that constantly stopping at lights and stop signs then going again is a pretty decent workout. Just a few blocks away I can get on a bike trail and ride my bike a few miles along the river with great views of the city, lots of geese and watching the rowers in the river, it's so peaceful. Since we're all in this together, I'll share with you my experience tonight while exercising... I rode all over the city and at one point a car drove by me and a 40something year old man yelled out "you need a bigger seat mommy". Seriously. Seriously... Who does that? You're 40something, yelling things out your car window which clearly makes you a giant loser. Fortunately, I have really thick skin, years of teasing as a child I suppose so it didn't phase me one bit... I just rolled my eyes and biked on. I've been guilty in the past of judging overweight people but I have NEVER had a single bad thought about an overweight person who was actually out there jogging or walking or biking or doing any sort of physical activity... I always thought to myself, at least they're doing something about it! What a jerk... Just wanted to share that with you guys. Like I said, I learned a long time ago to not let stuff like that bother me... spent my high school years terrified of receiving any sort of attention, I just wanted to blend into the background and as a result, I have absolutely no fond memories of HS. I got over those insecurities, so what, I've got a big butt and I'm riding a bike, but you're still a loser with a brain the size of a walnut and a car that was barely held together.
![]() ![]() Anyway.... I'm really not hungry though I only had 1 1/2 eggs this morning, 1 1/2 hot dogs (fed the rest to my cats, no appetite) and about 8ozs grilled chicken. Gonna try to get a little more chicken in before the night is over. TTYL!

Well, we are back. My grandies, 10 & 11, had a blast horseback riding. I always have so much fun with them.
I'm feeling kinda bummed. Talked to my DD about this, too, and she said, "Awwww...I'm sorry..." Here it is. has this ever happened to you? I wore my cute new jeans today. They felt a little baggy in the lower rear and that made me feel good. So, when I got home, I was thinking that I feel thinner! I actually feel like I'm losing fat in lots of places! So, I did the stupid thing and got on the scale (at 4:00 in the afternoon - I know better than to do that). Scale was up of course. So, I thought, no bother. I'll just get the tape measure out. Measured the usual 3 BWH. And they were all up! Half an inch or more on each one!!! What's up with that?? I know we had the conversation the other day about tape measures and how we have all these other nooks and crannies on our bodies that we don't really measure. But, holy cow! and I do mean that. Now instead of feeling thin and cute, I feel like a cow. Bummer squared. Anyway, I'm consoling myself with a big bottle of chilled carbonated water. I'm telling myself that I never measure the very tops of my legs. So, that's where some of the fat must have disappeared because that's where my jeans felt looser. I know some of the fat is gone in that place above the waist and below the boobs. Anyway, I digress. The fat burned thingie. I just know some fat must be gone! Or, this thought just came to me: Oh, no!!! Maybe it just moved!!! It left the tops of my legs and above my waist and took up residence in the BWH areas! Oh brother. Must stay positive! Must stay positive! Must not give up and eat the pan of brownies I helped the girls bake today!!!!!

Wow, Gwn, what a rude jerkface that guy was and you are so right. He must be a total loser. You are smart to just let it go. I feel sad for people like that. You have a lotta grace my Dear. And, I admire you for not yelling anything back!

On a brighter note: Do any of you have "The Doctor's Quick Weight Loss Diet Cookbook."? Copyright 1973 by Dr. Stillman? I bought a copy of his 14 Day Shape Up Program and have really enjoyed that. Good options for the times when ya just need some carbs. He even includes a glass of dry wine every day. I'm not gonna do that right now. I'm back to strict QWL, the original.
However, he mentioned the cookbook and I had never heard of it. Sure enough I found it on Amazon and so I thought it would be worth ordering. I will let you know what I think when I get it. Just wondered if anyone else has it and what you think. |

OMG Gyn---what a total w...k.er. How so unbelievably rude. I can't believe he actually did that. Some people are just so horrible. I would have burst into tears. Good job on the exercise....you just stick up two fingers at him!!
![]() ![]() Yam---stay away from the scale in the middle of the day---you are always heavier!!!! Yeah I know what you mean about the tape measure-I seriously don't understand it at all either. The scale, yes but not the tape measure!!! Since January I barely lost any weight-dunno, maybe 4lbs...and I was measuring and losing nothing-that was majorly depressing, but now I tried on clothes at home that were still fairly tight in Jan--now they are completely lose, so I have obviously lost piles of inches in the last 10 weeks...but it's just not showing up on the tape measure--as I say it's seriously weird!![]() I really believe tho that if you stick to plan, whatever the scale or tape says you are losing fat and getting smaller. Seriously only completely believing that after these 10 weeks....so I won't be whinging about the scale anymore....well maybe just a bit...can't break all my bad habits at once!! ![]() ![]() ![]() Be patient (says she!) and the weight will come off! ![]()

Day 22. The scale was my FRIEND today
I am down another pound. (No April Fool's here )Although my DH said he was going to mess with the "zeroing" on the scale before I weighed - just to play a joke on me......but then he thought better of that (smart man). So, I think I am one of the ones that need to eat more lean than fat - except when I begin to not feel so great. Then I guess I will add some extra fat for a few days, accept the fact that the scale won't move as much and go on. My clothes are a little looser but I am not yet down a size (I tried on a smaller pair of jeans yesterday ) but I have lost 17.5 pounds in 21 days (I need to keep reminding myself of this fact!) so I am overall quite happy.Sharon |
