oh my goodness. I missed so much....
I went to dinner with some friends last night. I ordered the new york strip and gave away the "potato, cheesy, broccoli risotto". They sliced it real thin and presented it in a feathered circle. I really think it was only half a steak and I was still hungry when I left. (Luckily it wasnt my turn to treat.) Just chillin right now with a big bowl of ground beef. Gonna go back through the thread to see whats happening! |

Hey Al,
Do you brown all of that beef, just like you are going to add hamburger helper or make sloppy joes? Then eat it like it is a bowl of cottage cheese? That sounds interesting!! I may have to try that! -Dustin |

So it seems that I have 2 new things to try out... canned chicken and browning lean beef. Do you brown those lean beef or get the regular "fatty" beef and just drain out the fat?
I am not going to weigh myself until the end of this month... I'm not going to touch the scales or obsess over it!! -Dustin |

No have never had the steak ones--don't think we have them. I have turkey and chicken! Oh and I had bacon once or twice--little cubes that I think are prob for caesar salads--- were good!!

I think I will stick with 2 cups of green tea, then. I had 2 cups so far, and that tea is making me run to the bathroom to pee. I just remembered why I don't drink much tea but it tends to make me pee more frequently than drinking lots of water!

I just browned my beef in a pan-don't need oil cos it has enough-pretty disgusting if you don't wash the pan straight away!!!!
The one I got was 20%fat! And yup I just ate it right out of a bowl--it's soo good, real comfort food, no comparison between it and chick. or tuna!! I have to stay away!! |

Lean ground turkey is good too if you don't want the fat of the beef!! It's drier tho! It's hard enough to get here!!

Thanks! I will run to the store tonight and pick up a package of 20% fat beef and drain it. I have this nice strainer that I use to strain tuna.
I wonder how tuna and beef will taste if mixed together.... nah! -Dustin |

I do my ground beef too and I sneak a little minced onion and a little ground pork sausage every once in a while. . I drain and rinse it and it has virtually no fat. If you get the fresh ground pork sausage from the butchers. . it is very, very good and ads just enough kick to the burger that you'll want to eat the whole thing (I've also used some of the others too)!!! I can't stand the grease so I have to rinse mine! Great with mustard. or hot sauce. . . MMmmm. .now I'm hungry thinking of it. .i swore it off for a few days. .so I'll delight in my chicken. . I'm grilling up 10 pounds tonight. .Lemon/Pepper Last edited by IM2fat; 03-02-2010 at 09:16 AM.. |

Hey everyone! Thanks for the warm welcomes! I have a few questions – I’m thinking about doing stillman’s modified, with intermittent fasting thrown in (stop eat stop program). What do you guys think? I haven’t been eating a lot of meat lately, mostly processed food and carbs and fruit. So I think I need to break it up with some fasting before I inundate my body with so much meat.
Also, how much working out is everyone doing? I like to run and do the santa monica stairs, but I know my body will be burning fat already, so I don’t want to overdo it. Funny some of you should mention P90X. I have it sitting in my living room for the last several months and I have not touched it. I’m always down for a good work out, but P90X scares me! LOL |

Wowzers! It is only the 2nd and I have missed so much here!
![]() I am still hanging in there...Last week I lost about 4lbs, but according to the scale today they are all back. ![]() These 4-6lbs are going to be the death of me...they just keep bouncing on and off and I cannot shake them!! I am still doing cardio and strength training 6 days week. I love it...never thought I would say that. Sounds like everyone is doing great! Keep it up! |
