BTW- My hours are not as crazy YAY!

I didn't end up making my french toast-less last night. Chris surprised me and took me to applebees. I had steak and shrimp!! mmmm He is so sweet! I sure him!

And on the 15th day the scale sayeth ......MINUS 3 pounds

This brings my TOTAL weight loss to 15 pounds in 15 days.

I got back on track Monday by eating several times during the day and DRINKING (water ).

My back is still healing from a badly pulled muscle so exercise has consisted of slowly walking the dogs 2x a day.

I can't see the changes in the mirror yet but my clothes are looser.

Wow congrats to all the losers!!! It is great to see that scale moving in the right direction. I am the same if not up a little. Oh well my own fault I ate steak last night and I am always up after beef for a day or two.

I am going out of town this weekend so I am not sure how much I will be checking in. I will try but Monday for sure.

Have a great meaty weekend everyone.

a little snippet from Yam Yam's link about ketosis. . .are you paying attention, Al?

"It is important to include vitamins and minerals in your diet, to maintain a healthy balance in your body and keep ketosis at bay. "

Still sticking with 'em?

I do take my vitamins and right now my body is in ketosis. I take 2 Flintstone's a day, Vitamin C, Calcium and Vit D and 2 Fish Oil a day.

Because I developed a kidney stone on Atkins I take Calcium Carbonite.

BTW - for those of you snickering about the Flintstone's - I take these on my doctor's recommendation

Hi peeps! I'm back on plan! Eating my tuna as we speak (type!)
Tried on clothes this morning that I had tried on at the beginning of January and they are really much much looser now!!!!! It really is so weird cos as I have continuously (hee!) said I am not losing on the scale!! But obviously I am def losing inches all over!! So I am over the scale for a while because how we look in clothes is more important anyway, right?? I shall keep telling myself that anyway!! I have no scale here anyway...and actually I find it quite freeing..so I don't think I'll buy one!!
Oh peeps I am so happy today!!! That's me dancing around to my iPod as I was cleaning!!

Thanks Yam for the explanation on Stillmans, might give it a try as my scale is a bit sticky in the last two weeks, admittedly Merlot could be partly to blame. My Light is back on for the day.Love your posts!!!

Thanks Al for the link, much appreciated. Thankfully I've never had to experience pregnancy first hand, but for a number of years I looked pregnant

I'm really enjoying this thread and am feeling inspired to try harder and maybe even cut out the red wine again, even though it has zero carbs, it could be part of the problem as to why my weight loss has slowed.

Hope you all have a wonderful fat dissapearing Day

Alan: Congrats and happy dance type rump shaking here for your 3 pound loss! Talk about a whoosh! Congrats!

Yep, the Merlot will set you back, unfortunately. It has minimal carbs but is digested and processed in the system like carbs. Unbelievably after 24-48 hours on Stillman the craving for it goes away for awhile. I'm wondering if it will come back after the first week when body is in ketosis. Guess I'll see. DH and I hardly ever go a day w/o it and that bottle he bought Sunday is still sitting on the counter! I did not even have to hide it from myself!

ROFL on the pregnancy remark! Same here and it would be a biblical type miracle for me at this time of life. Don't let those papers pile up and stay too close together. In my experience, they breed.

another pound!

Couldn't decide whether to read and catch up first or post first this morning.

I'll do a little of both.

I lost another pound! One more down. Already changed my stats and signature. I'm really stoked. 8 pounds since Sunday.

Thanks Yam, loved your dancing !!! You do realise that it is sinful to leave that poor Merlot unattended since sunday. You'll be had up for cruelty to grapes!!!

I know what you mean about papers breeding, my desk is extremely fertile in that regard!!!

Off home now, wishing you a wonderful day!!!

I was very, very, very good today.. Tuna for lunch. . small portion of ground beef and 2 boiled eggs for breakfast. . should see a loss in the morning. . I say should with clenched fists. . O and a prayer. .
Your stew sounds so much better than mine!!! I made another fake stew last night..should call it fake curry. Cooked up 3 pounds of ground turkey, added s&p, onion powder and dill. (dont know why the dill, just because it was there and it smelled good) Then I dumped like 3-4 TB of curry powder in and some beef broth. (would have preferred chicken broth) BUT it was yummy! My tastes buds didnt know what to do with all that flavor since Ive been eating so plain lately... I must admit I ate most of it!

Im back on tuna for today.....I'll try real hard for dinner too!

YES!!!!! Absolutely we want ketosis!!! You should read the article. It's really great. What the author is saying is you don't want any of the bad SIDE EFFECTS of ketosis, like dizziness, bad breath, fatigue, headaches. And, he explains those go away when you drink your water, eat protein regularly and take vitamin and mineral supplements.

One of the most encouraging things to me was he said even after ketosis is over (one to two weeks) your body will then have learned to burn it's own fat for fuel instead of relying on glucose (carbs). This is extremely good news because we are training our bodies to burn fat for the long run!
