HI Brumby! Glad you joined! Well done on the loss so far!
About the ketostix-I always thought that too-if it was dark purple was it better, if it was only trace, how come?---but I've read loads of times on the board that it's like being pregnant-you're either in ketosis or not, you can't be a little bit pregnant or a little bit in ketosis!! If you're showing dark purple it prob means you're dehydrated, and if you're just showing trace then you're either drinking a lot or you're doing exercise and so the ketones are being burned off!
As for going bananas on QWL-dunno!! We've probably kept sane by coming here and venting!! It is def boring (I kind of like that about it tho-no thinking about what to eat) If you find it way to boring, Stillman has another one-Inches off diet-basically no protein, lots of veg, fruit, and whole-grain-It's on the stickies- and he says you can rotae the two untill you reach goal!
Good luck!

Good Morning!

It's day #2! I just fired up my crockpot so I will have a wonderful piece of chicken when I come home. I opened 3 cans of tuna and strained the juices out and dumped everything into a tupperware bowl.

I just keep telling myself 4 more days until Saturday!

Tuna tastes much fresher if I strain the juices and dump them into the tupperware container. I just finished a small bowl of tuna and they taste much fresher... just like those bags of tuna without water. I just put a couple packets of mustard on top of tuna and everything tastes great!

Too funny Dustin. .I did the same thing this morning. . opened 2 cans of tuna, strained while I was getting ready for work and threw it in my "pink" bowls with some mustard and out the door I went. I'm going to try a tuna/chicken binge to see if it makes a difference. The gosh darn scale was up again this morning. . I'm teeting between 153 and 155 and have been for months! so . .today shall be my new awakening. . I'm giving it one perfect week with exercise. .if I don't start losing . .Well . .I don't exactly know what I'll do. . but I think of something. IN the very least. . I'll let you all know about it. .

That mustard trick works pretty good with both canned tuna and chicken. Never heard of it before i got here so that's pretty useful. Also down another 3#.. yesterday was the hardest for those stupid sweets cravings (my achilles heel) but I MADE IT and there is no greater satisfaction than seeing that scale going down, down down I am excited to see what the rest of this week brings!

All right, St. Pauli Girl! It's a new day for you!! Boy, IM, you must really like pink! If you must know, my tupperware bowl comes with a blue lid!

I just had a cup of green tea. When I went shopping to fill my fridge with meats, I bought a box of Celestial authentic green tea. I did not put anything into my tea, just sipped it slowly for about 20 minutes.

How many cups do you guys think I can safely drink green tea? I have read about the benefits of green tea, but I don't want to be drinking too much to undo the benefits!

Brumby and Myaluv! I'm so excited to see new Avatars on board when I sign in. . Makes my day!!!

Brum: I thought the exact same thing when I started Stillman's. . How on earth can one stay on this diet without going bananas! (((have you read our posts. . do you think we are "normal???" j/k. .)) Anyway, I don't understand it myself. .but I think you just come to terms with it and decide that it is much better than filling your body full of all the garbage. I was a huge carb-O-holic and never thought I could give them up.. but. . I started feeling better, looking better and had endless energy. I realized it was the nasty carbs bringing me down. Now . .its just become a way of life for me... I am looking forward to eating fruits and veggies again and will probably add some grains. .but I think my days of processed foods are over. I really don't miss 'em. . so much easier to grab a packet of tuna or munch on leftover chicken. It does take some planning. .but almost everything in life does. I always make sure I have boiled eggs, tuna and some other cooked meat on hand. . We grill all year round so I always have chicken or pork handy. . My hubby is doing low carb/no carb as well. He's more of an Atkins guy as he does have veggies and he does eat cheese. . I try not to at this point. .I have to work a little harder than he does at it. .(men. .sheessh )

Anyway, stick with us. .you will see great results!

I know it sounds like I have a lot of pink ...but really . .not too much. (I'm lying of course!!) Trust me. .that is the only way I keep my stuff "mine". .My son was whining because he wanted to use my gym bag. . which happens to be pink. . so he took hubby's VD gift instead!! What a turd!!

DL, its convenient when you dont have time to cook chicken breasts, you can keep them with you at work or wherever and it gives a nice change from tuna (although I am a huge fish/seafood lover). I used to eat it plain or with mayo until that wonderful mustard trick so that makes me REALLY happy.

I love this site, everyone is so friendly and helpful. Super glad I found you guys.

Good morning everyone!! Sticking to plan and making it happen. Same weight today but I only count what I have Sunday morning so hopefully by then it will be down below 160. I have below 160 by my birthday so this is the week to get it done.

Getting There- I just renewed my license from 4 years ago and the lady said when she went to ask my weight, there is no way you weigh 250. Nope I came to the office just so I could change that and get a new picture! I was happy to get to say my weight for the first time ever.

Dustin- keep up the good work with the tuna, I tried eating tuna recently but the salt in it made my insision swell to bad. What part of Ohio are you in? I worked at Cedar Point in college so I do have a special place for Ohio in my heart.

I did not get my exercise in last night so I will try hard after dr appts today to get enough in for 2 days.

Tania

I dont know what the big deal is about canned chicken, its cooked (just like tuna) packed in water/broth (just like tuna) and its in a can (just like tuna). It makes excellent green chile chicken enchiladas and a fantastic chicken salad. There are some things in this world i would never eat (ezekiel bread, pemmican) so IMHO it's not that bad. It could always be worse.

No they don't actually weigh you. I think I weighed about 270 when I was there 4 years ago but I figured I would be 250 soon. So yes this is the first time I actually weighed what I said on my license. In 4 years when I need a new one It will be smaller again. My pictured did not even look like me, if I got pulled over I would have went to jail for trying to use someone elses license!

Hey bdladie,

I still can't get over how much you lost!!! I live in south west part of Ohio. It is boring part of Ohio when everything is flat and mostly farm land. But I like my corner because it is close to Hocking Hills so I enjoy the waterfalls and the cliffs!
