You're damn straight! I had to shake myself off and make myself move forward. I still have to learn how to take care of my emotional side without turning to food like I did last month!

Hey IM,
No I didn't see about those shoes from Kmart... Yes, I only wear mine at my company. That way, they are not exposed to the ice and snow. How much were those shoes at KMart? Yes, I really like my shoes... they are very comfortable to me!! Maybe I should buy a pair at K-Mart just to wear outside? When the weather warms up, I want to start walking at the park. The weather forecast calls for good weather later this week and I can't wait!! -Dustin |

Alrighty Folks-
I've finally decided to stop lurking and present myself: I'm 48 (as of January), female, and I've been doing the QWL since Feb. 19th. As of this morning I'm down from 207 to 196 and since the 19th I've only cheated 3 times knowingly; 1st I ate a mouthful of cornbread stuffing while fixing a nice Sunday dinner for my family; 2nd I ate a small sleeve of "heart healthy" nuts that I had purchased in bulk from Sam's Club six months ago and 3rd cheat was a ham and cheese omelet with a side order of bacon I ordered while at Waffle House with a friend. I don't have the Stillman book so I'm sort of just winging it and lurking around here looking for recipes but I'm a little confused on a few things if I could pick y'alls brains here a moment: 1. I bought the Ketostix and the highest I've tested was "Moderate" but as of this morning, I'm showing just a "Trace" amount of ketones. Am I somehow out of ketosis now? 2. Seriously, how long can one sustain a meat, egg and cheese diet before they go bananas? Should I be thinking of alternating with something else? 3. Can you use a spray of non-stick cooking spray like Pam or is that a no no? Thanks anyone and everyone for any help, advice and suggestions. (Also, to add to the "fish" puns: I actually enjoy eating tuna just for the "halibut"... )And I'll be "waiting with baited breath" for y'all's replies! ![]() |

Hey all,
I'm new (well not really, been a lurker for years), but I would like to join in on the March challenge. I was down to 140 lbs the beginning of December 2009, but have gained 8lbs over the holidays and the last few months (stopped running like I was a few months ago), but I am ready to get back on track. My original goal weight was 130, but I think I'm going to aim for 125 (the weight that is actually on my driver's license! )I purchased used copies of both The Doctor's Quick Weight Loss Diet and The Doctor's Quick Inches-Off Diet a few years ago. My 31st birthday is on the 11th and I'm having a little shindig on the 13th, so I was wondering how I was going to lose a few lbs by then, and what do you know, my eyes zoomed in on these two books on my bookshelf. So I decided to visit this board (which is where I first learned of Stillmans) as I knew a March challenge would be going on! So count me in! Good luck to everyone! The way I make it: I dehydrate thin strips of raw, lean beef or bison until crackling dry. Then I grind the dry strips roughly in my food processor. After that I pulverize it to fine dust in a clean coffee grinder and mix the powder with melted coconut butter until fudgy. Then I spoon it into ice cube trays and let it set in the fridge. My husband and son both love snacking on it and they are both really lean and muscular. Let us know how you go! |

P.S. As I understand it, traditional pemmican has been around since paleolithic times - so more than 10,000 years!

Subscribing! Going well here and still doing P90X. I switched over to the more challenging version today and I can definitely tell...ouch! I'm not losing though and have actually gained 3lbs since I started (pants are a teeny bit looser though).
I'm really hoping the gain cycle is temporary and I'll start seeing changes downward again soon. I do feel fitter already though and I'm starting to adjust to the new schedule. The diet is also going well - very clean and no more that 50 net carbs a day, so not Stillman's, but still relatively low carb. Hope everyone has a great week. |
