I had chicken and ground beef yesterday, so obviously I cant follow my own rules. What is it.. do as I say, not as I do.. heehee
I couldnt help it- hubbymade it for me. I know thats no excuse! Gonna pick up lots of chicken breast. (Ive been eating the legs, sans skin) Another no, no for last night... I ran out of Franks Hot sauce, but had Franks Hot Wings sauce... tasted real good. Looked at the label and it had the same ingredients as regular, but with added canola oil. Bad me! I ate it anyway... But luckily, the scale stayed the same- 117. |

Hiya guys! I lost us somewhere! I thought what happened to all the people?!? Well I have been super busy at work! Now that the weather is better I have more clients than ever! I am back on the LC wagon! YAY! Not completely Stillmans, a variation of it. The Doc said to make sure I get a bit more fat a few leafy greens. Turns out I am hypoglycemic. With all the medical stuff out of the way I am ready to lose again! WOO HOO! I sure missed you guys. I will try to read the posts, but have been working 14 to 16 hr days! Forgive me... ![]()

Can I talk about maintenance?? Months ago, I was worried about maintenance. What would I do once I got to goal.. How would I add the veggies, fruit, eggs and cheese back without going overboard....Then, weeks ago, I figured, this is working, I know how to control it with adding and removing fat, I can eat as much as I want, which is a lot, so I was content on eating meat "forever". (kinda like a totally opposite vegetarian)
I've proved that my health hasnt declined, only got better....But now I want to start adding things back for a vacation coming up..The weird part is, if I were paying for every meal individually, I would be content with just meat, but Im paying up front for all inclusive food, and my brain says I have to eat and try evrything to get my moneys worth. (Crazy thoughts here folks) Im even worrying about what Im gonna drink? How to say no to lovely island rum punch?!?! The first thing on my list if I start to add things back is real onions. (I was also the loon that the flicked the onion bits off my meat from the onion soup mix). I would start eating all my meat with onions, and would probably have to use a little oil too. I love onions. I have been so strict and have not faulted because I basically eliminated EVERYTHING! I have no cravings, but the thoughts and ideas of how other foods would taste do come into play a lot! I dont know what Im looking for here. I need you guys to tell me to stick with meat, but you will probably say, start adding the stuff back. I have been meat only since July. (with the exception of a slice of pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving) Seriously. Meat. No lettuce has crossed these lips. Some people cant believe me. Im worrying about how Im gonna get a steak for breakfast on vacation, or if they will give me two for dinner. I guess I could restaurant hop and grab some meat at each. I know the pastries and bagels and potatoes arent gonna make me feel better, but thats what people eat at breakfast buffets! I dont know...just rambling and worrying for nothing..ignore me... but tell me to keep the meat and forget the onions.. |

O Al. . Seriously, you will have to start adding something back into your diet. . if not for your health. . than your sanity!! It has been a while since I reviewed South Beach but I know Atkins suggests starting off wiht 5 additional carbs a day. I think you start at 30 and gradually add 5 until you see a slight gain. . then you taper off. That way you have an idea what your body can burn without gaining. I think in your case, vegetables and fiberous fruit would be in order. Lettuce has basically None and you can have salad dressing. . there are a lot that have close to none. .. .People doing induction on Atkins still lose and eat up to 3 cups a day (Veggies) along with nuts and some fruit. . It'll be a learning experience, but you can do it. I suggest getting going to the library and getting a few books.. I researched my but off in the beginning.. . Plus, you appear to have wonderful metabolism so even if you do gain a little, it'll come off in no time. You know how to do it and you've proven to have the will power of a saint.
I hear ya on the no carb thing.. I was so good for so long but then I hit a few speed bumps.. It still freaks me out to think I haven't had bread since July or I haven't eaten a donut or haven't had potatoes. . I would never believe it myself. . I'm off to the store for more needed meat supplies! I'm going to think on this, Al and see what else I can come up with. . I like the South Beach idea, though. . it is lower fat than Atkins and it does make sense.. Good Luck to you. . .Start eating veggies. . you really want to be "used" to a little something before you go. . wouldn't want you to be sick on Vacation!

....Why does packaged tuna have to be so darn expensive!!!! $3 something for 5 measly ozs!!!! on sale!!!! I hate opening and draining cans at work. Argh! |
