Hi paleo! Glad to have you here!! Sounds like your modified Stillmans is off to a healthy start! How do you plan on keeping your calories up this time? Hopefully with more meat!!! Eat more weigh less. Not my motto, but one that seems to work when tuna and chicken breast are involved. Again, so glad you could join us.

GT: I have to comment that 11 pounds in 12 weeks is a great weight loss. .I know< I know. .we all want more. .and I know you've worked hard. but I recall reading something about stalls. . some people experience 3 or 4 during their journey, some of them lasting months (I hope not!!)! I think that is why a lot of people give up. .but not you . you are on target. . you keep the rest of us going. Look how far you've come! Hang in there. .the rest will come. it will. it really will.
We promise!

Hey. .Al. I think you should take it easy. you are getting way too small . Girl! I can't believe how much you've lost. You have to look like a whole new person! I'm waiting to get my neck bones back. I am sure you know the ones!! LOL Does anyone recognize you any more?
Gym wasn't bad . but too crowded to use the eliptical . I walked on the track and then did the nautilus stuff. My two bigger boys went so now my 14 year old thinks he has to do it every night. That's OK. might inspire me to do more! I can't believe he's already over 6" and weighs 200#. At least if I stand next to him, I don't look quite so big. . |

I still have some meat in a few of the right places..hahahaha...
a few people have made the your too skinny comments, but Im only 5'2. Most people are happy for me and hubby gets a brand new wife. I dont plan on losing much more, although, I am curious to see what 119 or even 115 feels like again......gonna be sure to get there slowly now and enjoy what each pound has to offer.. There are 2 pairs of jeans left in my closet that almost fit. Last edited by aleriaaa; 02-02-2010 at 07:25 PM.. |

Today was low carb. Not Stillmans or PSMF.. Just low carb with high fat to kick me into ketosis and suppress my appetite fast. Feeling better already. Took the day to make some meat loaf out of ground chicken breast, mahi mahi fish, and salmon patties. That should help make the next couple of days easier. So tomorrow will be my official start.
Thank you everyone for your advice about not weighing in. I happen to get my (.) today so that explains the extra extra bloat that I am carrying too. With the snow that we are getting, I hope I won't have to go to work tomorrow, because I swear it feels like my clothes aren't going to fit! Sheesh! That's was TOM does. ...well TOM and cheese-its (over the weekend). I made some spinach but I am pretty much going to stick with mostly meats until my period goes away....and then just lean meat and veggies from there on out. I plan to lose BIG this month...so there is no time to mess around. Exercise Today 10 minutes - Stepmill 35 reps for all exercises... 8 reps or less per set Bench Press - 85lbs Lat Pull down - 90lbs Shoulder Press - 30lbs Bicep Curls - 25 pounds Tricep Push down - 35 Incline trainer - walked 20 minutes at 15% incline. Higher fat eats for today.... Eggwhites, lowfat cottage cheese (may leave this out for a few days), steak, ceasar salad, flax Like I said... I was attempting to get my body switched over fast. Tried to deplete that glycogen in the gym...along with my eats for today. So tomorrow is my official Day 1. Will log what I eat tomorrow Cya |

Oh you guys are so good!
![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks Al,I know I shouldn't whinge! It's just I'm getting impatient--I want this weight gone, and I want it gone yesterday!!! Ok I'm definately shutting up now!! I know it could be worse Im2. I think you're great for not giving up during your stall. And you never complain(unlike me! ) You just get on with it! You deserve a huge whoosh and soon! Thanks for the info re. the dreaded yo-yo effect! I think we're doing well with the high protein! I keep reading that you lose more fat with a high-protein diet than with a low-fat, high-carb one!! And it preserves more musle!! So that's all good!! My new mantra will be (when I get to goal!)--I am never gonna put this weight back on--ever ever!! |

Ok I'm being blonde again! I don't know what Skippy is!! I'm guessing it's not Skippy, the bush kangaroo!!! (An ancient Australian children's programme!)
Would peanut butter not be half-ok to have tho??!! Is it not just fat and protein--like crushed peanuts!! |

GT: don't ever worry about complaining. . We all do it .well. .except maybe Al. she's always up. . (I'm a big one.. Emphasis on "Big"). Anyway, We are all human and we all ride that emotional roller coaster. Sometimes, just seeing it in print helps me get over it much faster and everyone here always has such good advise! I know I'm doing this for me and my health so I'll keep at it no matter how long it takes. . I just expect that all of you will go along for the ride. I want to be like AL. .new woman!!!

I am here!
Just been sick in the bed for the last few days. Felt like I had been hit by a truck~ But, I am up and willing myself to be better now. Yesterday, I didn't eat until 10:00 p.m. and that was just a small amount of cottage cheese. I felt so awful! I am taking vitamins and everything - can't figure why I felt so awful. Like the flu or something. Dustin - Welcome back! We missed you but I don't think it was very nice to mention the Reese's eggs!!!!!!! You know those are my weakness along with the hearts, the trees, etc.....GT - Peanut butter and chocolate is something that could rock your world Don't try it!!! EVER!!!IM2 - Your determination is amazing! You put me to shame with all the exercise you have been doing lately! When do you hear about your bloodwork? AL - Are you still doing 4 days chicken legs/beef and 2 days tuna/chicken? Welcome NEWBIES! Dr. Stillman was on to something when he came up with these eating plans! Renewed - WOW - do you still exercise at like 4:00 a.m.??? You inspire me! Nermo - Way to go on the loss!!! Lisa - You still holding strong?? |

Okay - when I get to 130 I am seriously considering either inches off or the Stay Slim Eating plan. Anyone tried that or considered it? Dr. Stillman seems to think they both keep you trim or help you continue to lose weight.
I am just worried that I may get hungry by not eating protein. I have been a major protein girl for a long time!! The inches off has almost no protein. The stay slim is counting calories. Just not sure what to do!!! Or, maybe I should just stick with QWL and have a refeed every 7-9 days. Any thoughts? |

Hi Msgirl!
Missed you!! Sorry you were sick--it really is catching!!Yeah I was really considering the inches-off one. It does say it works...but it has no protein at all and I'm just wondering because the best thing about high-protein is that you lose more fat than with a high-carb diet...and let's face it that's what we want to lose...yeah weight but fat. I keep reading that it preserves more musle. So I'm wondering with no protein at all will you just shrink your muscle mass...but if you do that then you won't look as good-I don't think-like smaller but flabbier! And if you lose muscle mass won't you then have a slower metabolism and so gain weight easier in the long-term??? I don't know!I know I'm not explaining it well, but I have given it a lot of thought and googled a lot!! And as I say everywhere seems to say high-protein-well adequate protein is best.I think I like the Stay-slim one or the 14day plan one. I haven't read them for ages so I'm not sure!! But basically healthy eating--low enough carb--well no white carbs, carbs in the morning, lots of veg and fruit(lower carb fruit) protein, low-fat dairy and good fats. But hey easier said than done! And if I had always done that I wouldn't be here now so...... ![]() ![]() Last edited by Getting there!!!; 02-03-2010 at 06:23 AM.. |

determination is a necessity at this moment in my journey. I know it would be way too easy to go back to my old habits. .although some of them were quite fun! I don't know when I'll get the results back.. I'll wait until next week and if I don't hear anything, I'll call. My feeling is I'll get the usual post card.. 'nothing found' . . you are just fat - live with it!! |
