I started Stillman's on Friday (I NEVER start a diet on a Friday but I was so anxious to get started I couldn't wait).

I weighed in Saturday morning and had lost 4.2lbs! I could NOT believe it!

But today, I only lost 1.8lbs and I'm scared about tomorrow's weigh-in because...

My mother got engaged today and it was an awesome, total surprise.
We celebrated with lobster, steak baked potatoes with broccoli and cheese, crab salad, and breadsticks

Let's just say I was a BAD GIRL today and I'm starting fresh tomorrow.
I've already seen what this diet can do so it is ON

I'll keep you posted on my progress... thanks everyone!
It's great to have ya here!

Feel free to use the quote GT. Wish I could claim it for my own, but it's actually the title of a book by Valerie Frankel. Interesting read and something I think a lot of us here could relate to.

Welcome msmotivation and tigerbunni! I'm still a newbie myself as well, but I already know you won't find a sweeter group of folks anywhere. No flaming or negativity on this thread - only humor, support and encouragement. Best of luck with your Stillman's journey. It really does work if you stick to it.

Super fun evening at the movies for the hubby and I. We actually ended up seeing another movie after our first one ended. Both were fairly violent action movies, but we had a blast anyway. The food was also pretty good. I ended up having two chicken breast sandwiches with no buns and no fries, plus a cup of green tea and lots of water. I could tell the waiters had seen all this before as they didn't even blink at the special request

Also happy to report, I finally saw movement on the scale again this morning - one whole lb down. No wonder I was in ketosis so deeply yesterday. The old bod was working hard on burning that extra adipose!

Hope everyone has a great week.

Hi everyone! Welcome Motivation and Tigerbunni!! Everyone is right-this is thee most encouraging bunch of people ever!!! And Stilman's works!!
You sound like you had a great time Pal! The low-carb never really caught on at home--so the waiters really look at you if you ask for no bread!!! Actually even if you ask for no dressing!!! We like our food!!
I said goodbye to my honey this morning-well I say morning-it was actually at 4:00 this morning. I didn't go to the airport-lazy me!! I brought the rest of my chocolates into work this morning so they wouldn't be there when I got home! Why he bought them, I don't know!!! I did have 2 more yesterday tho!! Apart from that I pretty much stuck to plan. Apart fropm yesterday when I did have a big frothy cappucino-with milk!! But I've always being having a little milk in my tea so I reckon it's not that bad! Hee! Anyway I am 100% back on plan today--have my ground beef defrosting. Actually I see it's 40% pork and 60% beef--but it was cheap!!!!
I let him read some of the posts!! He thought we were seriously funny!!

Good Morning Everyone!

Welcome to all the new folks! So glad you decided to join this great group!

Happy Day (a little late) to all my LC friends and supporters!

My hubby surprised me yesterday morning with a trip to the casino... We like to go (play penny machines!), but have not done so in awhile due to my daughter's upcoming nuptials... He also got me one of those really sappy, cheesy V'Day cards... It's the thought that counts I guess...I did remind him however that he used to get me jewelry before we got married... We have been together for almost 10 years, but only two of those are "married years"...second time around for both of us.

I am sure I didn't lose any lb's this weekend. We ate at the buffet and although I was good (carb-wise), I did have a big salad with my meat. I think I am going to try Lisa's idea and dump a whole mess of meat in the crockpot and season the heck out of it for this week!

Sure wish it wasn't Monday... For some reason I really don't want to work anymore...too bad I didn't win a million bucks yesterday.

Kath

eat,. eat. .eat. .as long as it's legal, it will help you not hurt you. I know its difficult to believe but it's true! The first few days are rough and you will be thinking about food for awhile but then it eventually wears off.. As soon as Ketosis kicks in , you probably won't feel like eating much. A good rule, I recently heard, was to plan a small snack or mini meal and eat every two hours.. . that way your next meal isn't too far away! Tuna, Chicken, Steak, Lean Ground Beef, eggs, mustard and tea!!

OK. .no offense intended to anyone here. . but I have the day off of work today (President's Day!!) and can't figure out why the J. Witness people are out so bright and early. . Get this. .knocking at my door at 8:30. . I wasn't even dressed yet so I had to hide in my bedroom until they went away. . I can't believe they even drive out to my house! It does bother me a bit that anyone would still go door to door. There are times when my kids are home alone and I told them never, ever answer the door. We just live too far out! I especially hate the guys that come around pushing their super cleaner and want to come in and clean your rugs, etc. . GET OUT! ..That's my rant for the day. . I'm actually going to put on my new shoes and clean now
