Hey Everyone!

I have been a lurker here for way too long...time to join the fun and lose this weight once and for all!!

I lost quite a bit on Stillmans a couple years ago and then life happened

For the past 8 months I have been working with a personal trainer, spending about 10 hours a week exercising. I feel great and have definitely seen lots of improvements (strength, inches lost, toned), but the actual weight is barely coming off. I have only lost about 10lbs since October!

I've been mainly following the Weight Watchers Core plan, which is basically a "well balanced meal plan including whole grains only once/day." I had high hopes that with the increase in activity that would be enough to drop the weight...obviously not the case.

Been doing some research on the Primal Blueprint (Primal Blueprint 101 | Mark's Daily Apple) and easing my way back onto Stillmans.

I have selected my sister's wedding date of April 17th as my goal to be under 200lbs. This might be slightly complicated by the fact that we are also hoping to have another baby soon...so we'll see what happens!

Hi Alison! Im so glad you decided to join us. Once you hit the ground running I have no doubt you'll get to goal. Many of us have dropped 20-30 pounds (probably even more)within that time frame and you will follow in our footsteps. Nice job on all the exercise! YOu may want to lay low for a few days while your body gets used to the plan. Were you considering QWL?

Stillmans QWL can be quite extreme, but yields great results. I know you know this, but Im just throwing it out there. I would make babies after the wedding!

I'm an old WW gal myself. . . The program used to work wonders for me but I've gotten older and more stubborn in my old age. . My body just wants to hang onto all the insulation a bit longer. .

Welcome Alison! Looking at your avatar makes me think about that time I spent at the beach last Spring... of course, I don't wear polish on my feet. Only on my fingers.

I've been on QWL for 2 days now and starting to get over the initial shock to my body from switching to low carb. Tomorrow, I'm planning to drink about 80 ounces of water. I selected tomorrow because I will be at home and easier on me to run to the toilet all the time. I am a firm believer of drinking lots of water to flush the crap outta of my body.

Another doctor update...since you're all begging to know..heehee. Found out I can only get a physical every 3 years, (thank goodness I called Insurance Co) Luckily, I convinced them to book it as something else. Isnt that cool. Didnt know I could do that without fibbing. Neat! My results shall be in next week!

Yes, I do get cranky. I've been experiencing those slight headaches all day today. I am also glad to be back here too! I just try to stay positive and I just remember how much better I felt after a week on QWL. I still feel good, but I am ready to get my weight to below 200! That is my new goal! Any number below 200... I will be perfectly happy with 199!! 198 will even be better!

does anyone dry-age their steaks? Im reading that it brings out the flavor in the meat. But Im a little nervous about leaving meat in the fridge for a few days uncovered.....bacteria...eck!

Okay - got 50 ounces of water down so far. Had two boiled eggs whites - 1/2 yolk coffee, and Diet Coke.

Dustin - I am totally with you about the water flushing the crap out! After my day yesterday I knew today would HAVE to be a WATER - WATER- WATER day!
I have run to the potty numerous times~

IM2 - You are HILARIOUS - you know I heard you can burn 300 calories - now that's my kind of exercise!

AL - It's cold out and there is tons of snow on the ground - hmmmmm.....hubby might like that kind of exercise

Welcome orteggleston!!! This is such an amazing group! The perfect place to share the funtimes on Stillmans!!

We pay big bucks for dry aged beef in the restaurants, would be nice to replicate it at home.. I hope someone has tried it...

That picture is from our Caribbean Cruise this past Christmas. Maybe someday I will allow photographs of more than just my toes on the beach!

I agree with the water flushing...I drink a ton of water. About 80-100oz/day.
