Do you guys get tinned salmon(just salmon, with nothing added-like tuna) We have it in Ireland-and it's so much nicer that tuna---granted it has more cals and fat(the good stuff tho) than tuna--but I eat it at home-I prefer it to tuna-and you don't have to mix anything with it. But they don't have it in Germany--nowhere---I miss it.... ![]() |

You guys are awesome. .
I'm feeling better this morning. .I hate to be a downer but there are days when I could just scream! I have two thin sisters and one thin brother and it is so unfair that I ended up with the old lady body! Besides, both sisters are younger and one is all cute and blond and skinny.. i've wished my fat cells on her for years and years. That being said.. I am so going to get down there, too. . and.. I'll stop feeling sorry for myself. .here is my menu so far today: I don't eat ketchup except when I make the BBQ chicken. .haven't had it since my last batch. . Vitamin: multi, B12, Calcium, Magnesium, Fish Oil and Flax break: 2 boiled eggs and 1/2 cup lean ground beef. . (Usually only eat 1 egg but I was hungry. .) black (yes black) Coffee Water (16 oz before leaving home) Diet Cherry Pepsi - 1 Can.. (take to work..) Lunch: Grilled Chicken Breast Supper: I have a boneless skineless turkey breast in the slow cooker at home as we speak.. (I didn't know they made such a thing.. found it at Aldi last night) it looks fab!

IM, look at the ingredients in your vitamins.... does any of them mention any additives such as cornstarch, sugar, anything that ends is "tose" such as sucralose, fructose, etc.... those are hidden sugars.
If you really can, lay off diet coke... just to eliminate aspartame from your body. -Dustin Last edited by dlyons; 01-12-2010 at 07:40 AM.. |

I eat turkey all the time but I never really thought about boneless. . duh.. it does make sense.. .I usually just buy the turkey breaks (with bone) and cook it that way.. This bonless one looks to be so much easier . . I love easy. .

I guess I'll have to give that up tomorrow.. :-( Considering what I used to binge on.. this is sad. .very sad.. not ready to give up coffee yet. .bad habit and I already get terrible migraines so I don't want to add to it by getting a caffiene headache, too I guess the good news is.. Hi IM!
I just had my second can of tuna with mustard. I am still thinking about your food list. When I first started Stillman's, I ate a lot of eggs.... about 8-10 pieces a day because I was hungry! Maybe GT is right that you may not be eating enough. Make some hard boiled eggs and snack on those. I'm still thinking. -Dustin |

Ahhhh! now, I'm becoming aware of mercury in canned tuna. The brand I'm eating is Starkist.... let me see if they have any info on mercury content in their products. I tried different brands of tuna and I seem to like the Starkist the best even though they are a little more expensive than others.
Thanks for bringing this up, feebi! So how are you doing... is today your second day? Dustin |

i know Im all pro-fat at the moment, but if you up it, like eat the skin, you may not need the flax and magnesium. i like the others advice on upping the calories, unless your already eating like 5 grilled chickens at a time. PS - chicken legs will up the calories pretty fast and keep you happy and full longer.
Hence, someone said earlier how we always lose when we eat ground beef! |

So Al, what is the easiest method to make ground beef in my slow cooker? What kind should I get at the store?
I was at Starkist website. The FDA limit of mercury is 1 ppm (parts per million) a day. The tuna that I eat is chunk light brand by Starkist packed in water and their website states it is .1 ppm per can. So I have to eat many cans to even reach 1 ppm. Starkist states that they test their tuna is tested for mercury content and are around .1 ppm. StarKist®*|*FAQs -Dustin |

Hi Dustin,
Yes today is my second day. So far so good! Glad that your canned tuna seems to be safe. I used to love tuna too but have switched to salmon since it has lower mercury levels. Too bad salmon is not considered a lean fish (I think) so I don't think I'll be having any during Stillmins. /cry Phoebe |

Hi Phoebe,
That's why I did some research on Starkist. Plus I'm not going to be eating tuna forever! I have a blind date on the 22nd so I'm doing this until I reach T-day and then I will be able to add other foods into my diet. I want to make the best impression on my special lady! -Dustin |

Hey Phoebe,
I found this for you about salmon.... it is not QWL, but it is from Dr. Stillman Dr. Stillman's Repetition Diets Maybe this may help to motivate you to add some salmon back to your diet if you really like salmon! -Dustin |

I wouldnt recommend ground beef in the slow cooker. It will probably turn into a big meat mooshball in a pool of fat. Even when I used to make chili in the slow cooker, I would brown the meat first. I like it best cooked stove top until the edges are a little crispy. If you get 80/20, you'll have to drain a little fat. To me, 80/20 has more flavor than the leaner stuff, but hey, I'm lovin fat. |

I think if I was gonna do any slow cooker recipes with g beef, it would be meatballs. Add your seasonings, roll em up, pop em in, let it go. They'll still be sitting in a pool of fat and you'll have to scrape the yucky stuff off the tops. Actually, they may even come out nice and moist. Yes Guys! Try that!
