There was a reason I swear. It gave me some energy to exercise, and it was also part of my refeed day. I also ate rice noodles and loads of vegetables and the next day my weight was down. I will be doing this every week - also making sure I raise the level of my workout on that day - because it seemed to have worked. |

Well all I can say is I've been bad bad bad. Started with a bagel Friday and ended with chocolate pie on Sunday.
I was reading in Inches Off and he recommended staying away from the drink mixes. Wish I had my book to quote. So I am off coffee with artifical sweetner and reducing my CL intake to 1 per liter of water. I have to eliminate caffeine slowly so Diet Pepsi or Diet Mtn Dew will have to due until the headaches leave. Anyway long story short...today I am starting over with a fasting day then I will start QWL tomorrow. I did order a new workout series called Barry's Bootcamp...must have been out of guilt for my eating. Reviews look pretty good, it won't be here until next week so I should have time to get myself under control. Congrats to all those that have held strong and to us that have struggled.

Good Morning!!
In the spirit of clean eating, I did NOT have the wine! Hubby said its not gonna go bad. (Its in a box - The Black Box, to be exact. Holds 4 bottles of cab. Not a good thing to have in my grasp. Unlimited wine for weeks on end. )Tealady - have a nice trip! Miss ya already! my question is, how in the worls did you stop at 8 peanuts? Hi Cat- Sorry its been rough. Glad you're on track now! Do you normally do a fast day? I would think that would be even tougher than sticking it out with plain chicken. Next time, check in with us before you eat the bagel. Im sure we could coome up with something to make you despise them. ![]() Nermo - I totally believe that we will be able to eat other foods again and not gain. They will have to be wholesome, healthy foods though, and portions will have to be controlled. By the time the weight is off, we will have a good grasp on how to keep it in check. Msgirl and I are close to goal, and I can assure you we will not go back to our old ways. Neither will you! you can do this!! How did those meatballs turn out? Id rather just eat the seasoned ground beef cause my meatballs turn into rocks!Good mrs. nadal - You had a plan, you stuck with it and it worked! Im so happy for you. Its all about making good decisions and not letting our emotions lead us to temptation. Nice job on the exercise!!! WTG! ![]() Lets eat with our heads and not our taste buds!! (I know easier said than done) Dustin - Careful with that stuff! I can smell you in Connecticut! Shannon - You may have fallen off the stillman wagon for a second there, but still a good choice. You kept it low carb and I totally believe you'll be A-OK. (unless you ate the darn toast too.) Get back on. The weight loss bus just pulled up! For those that have cheat days or refeeds.... are the headaches and carb withdrawal worth it the next day when you jump back on plan? Maybe its not so bad for some, I really hope its not, but for me, those first few days are terrible. I just cant put myself, or my family, through it again. I am one cranky woman. Miserable I tell you! So, whats on the menu today?? I never set the pork chops up in the slow cooker yesterday, but today its a sure thing. PS- I'm on IM2s workout plan. Day 1, for me!! ![]() |

Good Morning Ladies!!
It's Monday!! I had one can of tuna. I am wearing my new shape-up shoes. The good news is that I will be doing a lot of walking today so I will be breaking in my shoes and wearing out my calves! Thanks Al! I will cut back on my new cologne! Everyone, have a great morning and keep reporting back in here! I am always glad to have 2 or 3 pages to catch up!! -Dustin |

Al - For me after my refeed on Saturday, I was starving on Sunday morning so had my usual 4 scrambled eggs. I did not eat again until Sunday evening because I just was not hungry. No headaches or carb withdrawals at all.

Hey gang....just posting my weigh-in before I hop in the car and scoot out of town. Down .8 which puts me back in the 50's
:Today is going to be a challenge to stay Stillman legal while traveling but I have my mind set to do it. I have to because I have a house full of company coming on Friday, Saturday and Sunday of this week and I will be eating regular food for that time ( can hardly wait). Yes, I'll be starting over on next Monday but that is okay. My weekend is a very special celebration in our family and I'm not going to be the wet blanket who is dieting. I'm going to celebrate then get back on the program after everyone leaves. Al - I don't seem to have too hard of a time with those first 3 days. Mainly because I don't let myself get hungry. I start the night before and I don't feel guilty for eating as long as it is legal Stillman foods. And hey you guys....listen up.....don't suffer through a caffien withdraw. Here is how you can do it without getting those nasty headaches. Seriously, this works !!!! To withdraw from caffien stop drinking the drink (we'll say Coke for this example). When you begin to get the withdraw headache take only about 3 sips of the Coke and stop. Wait a few minutes....your headache should have subsided. If not take another sip or two ( small amount...aprox and ounce). By now your headache should have passed. The key is to drink just to the point that your headache goes away. NOW.......wait the hours again until your headache starts to return. When it does drink only a little bit more of the coke, just enough for the headache to subside. You keep doing this until your body quits having the headaches. Usually just a few days. This is a step-down method that works. By gradually withdrawing the Coke your body begins to adjust to not having it. By withdrawing the Coke and replacing the fluid with water you will flush the toxins from you body faster. This cafeen step-down usually only takes 3-5 days to complete and you will not be bothered with those terrible headaches for days on end. You'll get the start of the headache but then you will releave it by having just a few sips of Coke to chase it away. The key is to not have the whole glass of the Coke anymore. The other key is to not let your headache get out of control. If you have that pounding headache you many have to drink many ounces of Coke to get the headache to subside. I've done this many times successfully and I've shared this with many people who were so thankful that I had shared it. So Cat If you are dying from a headache consider having a nice tall glass of Coke to get the headache stopped then start over with my withdraw plan.......unless, of coarse, you love all that pain. I certainly don't. I hope this helps someone. Off I go on my trip. See you all tomorrow. The Tea Lady |

Depends what you mean by "normal"
I don't think we can go back to all the crap we ate that got us here in the first place( I speak for me anyway). I keep reading that to go back to normal eating you should do it slowly, like introduce veggies, and low carb fruit first, some dairy, then wholegrains, then work up......not have a big carb blow-out!! ![]() Having said that tho from the 18th Dec I wasn't doing QWL-well I was having salad at dinner and sometimes berries and yoghurt for breakfast---then came 25th and 26th--carb-fest! then I went back to the salad etc-but there were cheats along the way(my best friend found that they were selling boxes of Quality Street for 99c so it would have been rude not to buy... ![]() Then I was bad at the airport! But after all that I only gained 3lbs-but that's with the water weight and everything(and I'm down 1.5 of thise today!). So I dunno!! Hopefully we won't put it back on. I think exercise is really the key to maintaining...and not eating emotionally.... but have to get to goal first... ![]() |

I'm back at my desk, enjoying my second can of tuna. Boy, I did a lot of walking out on the floor. I measured about almost 4,800 feet of cable which means I had to walk that distance. I used this device that rolls along the floor and it is used to measure distance between both points. My legs and back are starting to feel a slight soreness from my new shoes. I think this shoes will really help my posture because it forces my back to straighten up when I stand and walk.
Now, I'm writing up a report and notes about my cables. Then I will go back out on the floor and mark the locations where to locate the new equipment. So that's more walking. I'm really putting my new shoes to good use! -Dustin |

Good Morining! Day 6 of eating low carb (cant quite call it Stillmans yet..) and Ive lost 6.4 pounds. This is also my third week exercising/weightlifting methodically. Im having a hard time cutting out some cheese, fat, and some spare veges. However, Im keeping the carbs and calories low, so Im still in the game. And no cheats yet, unless you call a handful of carrots a cheat...
You all look to be right on track! Keep up the good work! |

Hey Al! Great about the shoes! You should feel a slight soreness in your legs and your lower back. I feel a difference in my posture when I walk with the shoes... I feel taller and straighter.
I'm enjoying my 3rd can of tuna. I bought 4 cans with me to work. One can left! Dustin |

Yes, my shoes came with a DVD. I haven't watched it yet, but there is good information on Sketcher's website on those shoes. Some good reading materials and videos there.

Al, I decided to go back to Sketcher's site to read up more on those shoes... I found this snippet and thought I will share this:
Shape-ups have an unstable center of balance compared to normal sport shoes. The body will instinctively try to find the center of balance by wearing these unstable Shape-ups. As a result, it has been demonstrated that there is more muscle activity in the muscles on the back and down to the feet compared to common sport shoes. Wearing Shape-ups increases muscle activity, which leads to higher energy consumption compared to normal shoes, so exercising for a long time (walking) will burn subcutaneous fat and visceral fat, and effects such as firmer buttocks may be expected. This varies between individuals. I can really use firmer butt! -Dustin |

I'm having tuna too! Yum!
But actually I am so psyched up for this again-the same enthusism that I had at the begining-It's so cool to feel that way again! Since really the middle of November I have been so bored with it. I know I was complaining the whole time! Sorry! But now I'm back into it-and gotta say-lovin it(ooh like the fast-food place! Hee!)Didn't do any exercise yet-well had a snowball fight in the snow-do yee think that counts? But I watched my Bootcamp dvds -kinda fast, forwarded them-just to take a look so I won't be starring at the screen the first time I do it! ...Looks seriously tough...but it promises good results... so we'll see! Have to get up early to do them cos I'm just to lazy in the evening! |

Yes! I started last Tuesday..and I hope to be 7 pounds down in 7 days by tomorrow..which is possible since I have to go to work at 6pm, and I never eat at work!
Dustin, Tuna all the time works! Do you add any flavor to it? Tealady, congrats on being in the 150s! It feels good to get into a new lower middle digit, doesnt it? As far as shape-ups, I just bought a new pair of adidas running sneaks, and I didnt even know about these shoes. Can you run in them? |
