Cottage cheese w/cinnamon - really curbs my appetite. Weird.

Ok, Im re-reading the Stillmans book tomorrow, it motivates me.

Today was:
cup of cottage cheese
piece of chicken and a stick of string cheese (the light version with the spongebob trivia )

I caved on the cheeses today - but yesterday I had a free meal, so I always awaken the cravings.

Note to self: Do not let best friend convince you to eat wings again. Wings are my weakness (TRIGGER food) - so I figured "hey, low carb right? Not exactly Stillmans, but not too bad". BAD rationalizing there, Erin. I swear they tasted like they were dipped in butter, but at least I didnt eat any fries dipped in RANCH (she did, ha ha). Im guessing like 1,000 + calories for the 10 wings, plus whatever else for the blue cheese.

Bleh! Im never eating wings again.

Silly: please post snippets from Stillmans. .I think we all need the motivation. .

Heck yes!! Thank you for starting the discussion (Slatman) on the refeed or break from Stillmans. I totally think that might be part of my problem. . being a chronic dieter, I realize my metabolism is so messed up that I need to rock my world time and time again. I've been researching low carb diets and reading everything I can get my hands on relative to this diet and the general conscensus has been that it is an "easier" diet to follow but one needs to exercise and continue to concentrate on the healthier carbs, veggies and related (fruit) in order to be successful. It has been proven that any diet that eliminates a food group, will result in more failures more than one that provides choices. I think I realized this long before starting, but I wanted quick results and didn't care how I got there. I still have a long way to go but I know as long as I'm not gaining. .I'm ahead. I'll continue to follow the plan and tweak it here and there. .if I fall off, if I eat a carb, if I decide to drink calories.. . I'm not going to give up. I'll just keep moving forward. . I DID NOT GAIN THIS OVERNIGHT SO WHY WOULD I EXPECT TO LOSE IT OVERNIGHT? Duh? Logical, eh?

So, I will continue to log into Lowcarbfriends. .I will read every word, I will eat lean protein. .I won't worry about the numbers on the scale as much as I used to, I won't obsess over evey little carb and (most importantly) I will smile with each ounce of fat that leaves my body. . . Can I get an Amen!!!

Daisy!! Thanks for #10 - The Maintenance Commandment was the best by far, for me. Lots of good points. I'll be better prepared as the end of my diet comes near, for sure!

IM2 - You've got a good head on your shoulders these days.. It must feel great to be at peace with the dieting thing. Look how far we've come since the first few days we logged on. Amen!

Everyone else: keep on keeping on. we're all in it to win it! Its so great to hear positive advice from those that have been there and succeeded.

Still 141...pork roast all day yesterday.....couldn't help but hop on the scale. (I'll have to hide it under my bed to keep away from it til Saturday)

Hey Ladies!

Just a brief update! I'm not doing all egg whites every day! Decided to do it one day off one day on! I don't want to stall out and I'm so close that you never know!

Princess, don't worry about the up lb. That happens to me all the time! It's our body's way of dealing with rapid wt. loss. Now, don't go and cheat and ruin all your hard work!

Doing great! Working on the house so I'll be in and out all day!

Hugs,
B

Hey Sheri - Just wanted to mention reading the sticky for Stillmans QWL, in case you didn't spot it. All the do's and dont's included... Your current plan sounds real close minus the bacon! 25 pounds in a month is fantastic! Keep it up!

Hi all! Just checking in! Had 4 eggs, 2 turkey breasts and loads of water! Trying not to weigh until Sat-then hopefully I will see 147 or less! There was a market today-start of Christmassy ones-and the smells of food was unreal! But I stayed strong and walked quickly home! Having tea at the mo-with tiny bit of milk-I know, not on plan but I just can't drink black tea! It's not my fault, I'm Irish!xx

Hey! Just stopping by! Taking a break for the painting!

GT! What's the weather like in Ireland now!? Have you ever thought about moving to America!?

I'm going to start working out today! Gonna do 20mins on the Tmill as I want to see if that can help!

Tried on one of my skinny skirts, it fit but I NEED TO TONE BIG TIME!! Man, why did I allow myself to gain 25 lbs!? This sucks;0! But, now I know I will never do that again. I didn't even own a scale for 3 yrs. Uncook! Ignorance isn't bliss, let me tell ya!

BBL

Oh! AL! I don't think you would have lost that much on any other plan! I had a friend who did JC and lost like .3 lb a week. WHY she stayed on it a yr. is beyond me. Then she did A. and lost a ton. We have an advantage with LC for sure! YOU'RE rockin in girl! KUTGW!

Hi Beth! You're putting me to shame with the painting! I really need to paint the radiators-they're yellow at this stage! Painting is so messy tho-hate it! The weather in Ireland-is cold and frosty about 8 degrees-46f. But at least it's not wet! Was freezing today-have to fish out gloves! I always think it must be weird in a "hot place!" like L.A. when you don't have a winter-especially coming up to X-Mas (also no winter woolies to hide under!). Not planning my big move to the U.S. yet-but you never knowe might have to come over just to have a fix of crystal light! Oh yeah and to buy something in a size0!!! (I wish!!)
Love it when you try on things that haven't fitted for ages-isn't it the best feeling ever!!! I didn't have a scale for years either, but for me ignorance def was bliss. I went to the chemist Summer before last to get a thing called Lipotrim-dunno if yee have it-it's 3 shakes a day-oh God they are just awful-I lasted 2 weeks-Then started low-carb in Nov.-much better! Anyway I couldn't believe it when she told me my weight-I really thought I was prob about 2 stone lighter--oh God!!:blush::blush: So now I have 2 scales-one that weighs in pounds and another that is a body-fat one and kilos-not that I'm obsessed or anything! xx

Hi Sheri! Hawaii-cool! or that prob should be "hot"! Sorry about nasty stuck scale-don't worry- that happens me a lot-just come here and rant!! Have you lost 2 stone since August??? That's brill!! You're def on the right track! I know what you mean about being sore-I started back doing Pilates after not doing it for 2 weeks-I could barely turn over to turn off the alarm-pain where I didnt even know muscels existed!

Hi gang! Okay, that pound still hasn't left and my boobs hurt (sorry, Slatman) but it's not "that time" so I don't know what's going on with my bod. But I was at the store today and picked up a women's mag that I ordinarily NEVER buy and, lo and behold, there was a TINY article about progesterone cream, how using too much can backfire with sore boobs AND water retention!!! Oh yeah, forgot to mention, I've been using progesterone cream for about a year after getting a nasty ovarian cyst that had me laid up in bed every TOM; the cream got rid of the cyst and made PMS so, so, so much better (I only use the natural cream made from wild yams). But, me being me, I've been upping the dose, thinking "more MUST be better". I'm skipping tonight's dose and see if that extra pound (and more!) hopefully disappears.

I even thought my scale was broken, so before going to walmart, I weighed myself, then took a scale out of the box at the store and weighed on that one...EXACTLY the same (I would have bought it if it read, say, 3 pounds lighter!)

Oh yeah, I forgot the BEST part of my day. While I was in walmart I got this overwhelming craving for those frosted sugar cookies (crackies is a better description) and I felt totally depressed 'cause I thought, "Here I go again, gonna binge." But then I remembered last Saturday night and remembered that just b/c it pops in my head doesn't mean I have to act on it. For some odd reason, that was a eureka moment for me and made me so damn happy! I also remembered that a craving passes in about 20 minutes and, sure enough, by the time I headed to my car the siren song had left me. And then I felt happy all over again!

Later!

Ive had them for over a year.. but, last month.. 2 of them fit.. yay. I dont like how I look in them yet so.. 5 more pds I will wear them. woohoo.
Princess...LOL at you weighing yourself at walmart.. sounds like something I would do. er.. I may have in fact..LOL> I hope you figure out what the heck is going on with your body .. maybe you are going to have a whoosh in the next day or so..
good luck~
Im still in bed.. and its 2:30. LOL.. nah, Ive been in and out. I took allergy meds and I feel icky.. just really tired... so may as well rest.

Hi LVGal. . How exciting to see another smiling face join us! You will love these gals (and guy). .they are fabulous! I hope you feel better soon - Concentrate on getting well, first..

Zoinks! I cannot believe how much jibber jabber I miss out on when I go away for a day! I have to tell you . .I had a great day. First.. . I want to say a quick Thank you to all the Veteran's out there. . We often take for granted the very things that most deserve our gratitude. . . We appreciate all you have done and all you have sacrificed for us!

My dilemma (sp??) for the day: Has anyone else had any symptoms such as muscle aches in their legs? Weird. . . .not really an ache as in "I've over-done it. or I've been on my feet too long", just an ache I couldn't explain. Later today. .the back of my legs felt the same way...?? Weird, This has happened before and I've read somewhere (but I can't find it again) about something with this or the ATkins diet causing some kind of leg cramps and a supplement to help it. Has anyone else read up on that? Just wondering. .I'm going to google it, too.. I just have to give a shout out to Daisy for posting her "symptoms". . you never know who else may be suffering the same thing! (but, unfortunately most often mine is just PMS. .)

Al: I got some Coconut Oil . Will report back once I take some.. Also, THANK YOU for posting your very meaningful stats! I love it and will refer back for motivation.. .

I spent today walking and shopping (OK . mostly shopping!!) but I put a dent in my Christmas obligations already . The other news. . I tried on Jeans .. and discovered that a size 12 is toooo big. . I fit comfortably into a 10 and am thinking and 8 is right around the corner!! That is huge for me considering I haven't been able to wear jeans in years!!!! The weird part is, I've only lost 2 of the 6 pounds I gained last week!! I really weigh no less than I did when I fit into a 12. . .I guess I must be losing inches. . So Thank you Denise for reminding me that we should gauge our weight on how our clothes feel. .

I know I sound like a broken record. .but it is so great to be able to share these small successes with my peeps who understand!! My family just thinks I'm crazy.

I will also have you know that I spent the entire day without any back-up plan for food and I did fine. I stopped at B K and got two double burgers without condiments and tossed the buns. . They were very, very good and I was totally satisfied! My friend, on the other hand, got the french fries/burger combo and offered me fries! I kindly declined (even though I really wanted to lick the bag and her fingers (err. .thats a different post ..) and thought about how great I was going to look in my jeans this weekend!! I am so glad I have you guys to make me accountable!

Slatman: I am so glad you decided to hang out with us.. I read your posts to hubby, who is doing Atkins (1st time he has ever seriously dieted), and I think he actually listens!

Well guys.. I've been up since 5:30 so I think I'm going to hit it soon.. Here's to a carb-free day tomorrow!

HI everyone! Just a quick hello! I was laughing when I read your post about the scales Daisy! That is soo me! Well actually I was worse! I was on hols in France this Summer and it was killing me not being able to weigh-so went to a shop, saw scales-was like oh goody-but then there was no battery in it --so took off the little protective film and stuck it in and weighed.I thought if someone sees me I am seriously gonna be arrested(or carted off to the funny farm) And it was so not good-can't rememner exactly but think I had put on something like 5 pounds so was less than impressed.
You're right I love that you guys do the same as me-think my friends are getting slighly bored now!
Congrats on the jeans Im2- and Sheri on the cargos-it is def theee best motivation. Good on you for resisting temptation Daisy-you too Im2-The Comm.s must be really working!xx

Good Thursday Morning,

I think my number one favorite thing to eat or drink is coffee. I don't have that Crystal Light fetish. When I found out abut the importance of drinking water - I just made myself drink it plain.

This morning I had coffee, 2 eggs fried with pam and turkey sausage. Brought water to work with me so I can stay hydrated....

I am telling you - I feel your pain. My scales looked to me, to be stuck on 177.6. It seemed that no matter what I did, each morning I was greeted with the same number. I just got a new scale too. Finally yesterday morning they went to 176.8!! A small drop, but I was happy. I am making sure it sticks before I change my numbers. I want to see 169 (officially overweight) before Thanksgiving!!!

-Lynne

This has got me thinking.... if I could only have one which would I choose? I can't drink as much coffee as Crystal Light, thats for sure, but I can't imagine my world without coffee...

With deep thought, Im still going with the Crystal Light. I don't even like the taste of coffee without the cream, but yet I still keep slugging em down.
