Thanks IM! I'm heading out to the store to get some bouillon cubes. I will thaw out one piece of chicken breast right now and then throw everything into the crock pot tomorrow morning before I leave for work. Whoo-Hoo!

Gt - I finally got my book and am posting the info about the fat fast here:

Dr. A recommends 5 feedings a day at 200 cals each (choose any of these for your 5 meals - each one equals 200 cals) p. 273

two oz of cream cheese or brie
One oz of tuna or chicken with 2 tsp of mayo
two oz of sour cream and two tablespoons black or red caviar
two egg yolks w/ 1 tablespoons of mayo
two deviled eggs made with two teaspoons of mayo

That's a shortened version!

My my you guys are chatty today!! I can't wait til we start our Dec. thread!

Dustin - I sprinkle Tony's seasoning salt on my chicken and cook it 5-6 hours on high or 8 hours on low in the slow cooker. It's yummy that way!!

You ladies and your pink! How cute!

Al - my husband thinks I am nuts with all my crazy meals! But, he is quick to tell someone she isn't eating that, or she is very disciplined! Makes me feel awesome!

Em - My son wants to grow up and be a Cowboys player - he has Cowboys on his wall and his bed and in his brain!!!

Im - that soy pork sounds yummy - did you say you cooked it in the slow cooker? Or, is that an oven meal?

Beth - it sounds like you are shrinking by the minute!! Yay for you!!!

Ok - what is everyone's take on diet coke? I have really cut them out to 1 or less a day but sometimes I just love the taste. Has anyone drank them and not lost or is everyone okay with them??

So glad I can come here! It's a tad bit of a stress reliever for me!

MSgirl: Tony's is the best! I use that too! Your son has great taste in football teams Go Cowboys!

It's perfectly okay to drink diet coke. Even stillman says so. I drink a ton of it...also the caffeine in it helps with the water weight. I thought it was the opposite until I researched it.

Interesting...now I am gonna be crazy with it again. I am gonna google it and see what I find out w/ the water weight and all! It just does the trick for me sometimes. I hope the sodium doesn't have an opposite effect on me though! My can says - 40mg and I know that isn't a lot but I am really a major sponge!!

Yes, he and my hubby are tried and true Cowboys fans!!! He's 13 and he is all about his football!

Thanks, MSGirl, for your suggestion about Tony's seasoning. I just came back from the store with small can of bouillon cubes. It looks like I may be making another trip to the store for that seasoning! I want to be able to enjoy chicken instead of thinking, "Oh God, not chicken (or tuna) again!"

EM! I hate to be the barrer of bad news but sometimes diet soda really stalls and could possible make you gain wt. I know it sucks so bad as I was a total addict big time! It was crazy what happened to me. This was a while back but I went for 2 mo. straight without weighing and I thought I was rock on All I was eating was ckn and diet soda! Low and behold I didn't lose an oz. Doesn't that suck!? So, this time around I'm I had to ditch all artificial sweetners.

Citric Acid in the diet soda is a staller for some as well! I hate to be Debbie Downer but I want you to succeed. Give it a try for a while and see if it helps you not to have it! It really helped me. Do a Google on how the body thinks the AS is real sugar and hence will give an insulin response due to it! This just came out in the news as of last Jan.

Beth: Thanks for the info! I've been a faithful diet dr. pepper addict for years. When I was 97 pounds I was drinking it even more than I do now so for me so far I think I tolerate it okay. I'll try going without it and see what happens. I suppose that applies to crystal lite too?

Pass on artificial sweeteners, too. Try to eliminate aspartame, sucralose, and saccharine from your diet. They are nonnutritive. Ask yourself how many pounds you have lost since you started drinking diet sodas. Are they working? Most likely not. Here's why.

Recent studies suggest that artificial sweeteners boost your insulin levels by fooling the body into reacting to them as it does to sugar. This is bad for weight loss and maintenance. The more insulin in your bloodstream, the more fat your body stores. If you are hooked on either aspartame or saccharine, it not only can be detrimental to your health, it also can stall and thwart your weight-loss progress. Give up artificial sweeteners.

Another sugar substitute is called sucralose, with the brand name of Splenda. We don't recommend it because it's manufactured by adding chlorine molecules to regular sugar. One of the reasons we recommend drinking purified water is to avoid drinking the chlorine. So to consume sucralose and put unnecessary chlorine back in the body makes no sense. Sucralose contains high-glycemic starches as a filler, and no one needs them either.

Other beverages you can substitute for diet sodas and other beverages sweetened with aspartame, sucralose, or saccharin are herbal teas, decaffeinated coffee, or purified water. Try flavoring purified water with lemon or lime juice and using natural sugar substitutes instead.

Just for your info . I'm an addict too but I have tried to seriously cut back. Not only are most of these full of artificial junk. .there's sodium too!! Ugg. .

Which, by the way, Dustin, be careful of with the bouillon, too. . You may want to throw the chicken in frozen! I always do. . :-)

Good morning, Everyone!

It's 6:00am! I had to check the scale twice because I could not believe that I lost almost 20 pounds. The scale reports 249.0 pounds. The first time I stepped on the scale, it read 249.1 and I thought to myself, "let me check again, maybe my feet are not perfectly centered."

December 1st, I lost 19 pounds. At least, I got my weight under 250 pounds! I plan to weight myself again in 2 weeks.

Congrats Dustin!!! 20 lbs is astounding!!!!

I jumped on the scale this am and had to do twice as well - I am down to 145.8!!!!! That is 2.4 lbs down from yesterday - when I had that gain!!!! I am so excited!!! Been good and clean since Turkey day and I am now down below where I was before that indulgence!!!

Yesterday I had -

1 cup lf cotage cheese
1 cup lean ground round
4 oz turkey (the last thank goodness!)
Couple bites of chicken

and about 100 oz of water! I finally was able to go to the bathroom ( I know gross!

So, my synopsis is water, water, water that is the ticket! Those items above are no diff than what I have eaten before! Total losses since October 26 - 12.8 lbs!!!

Total loss since starting Stillmans - 4.2 lbs (with a major cheat on Tgiving!) I know it isn't tons but I am thrilled!

Hope everyone has a great day - I will check back in later!!

Goooooooood Morning!!!

Dustin! What remarkable results! 20 pounds gone is amazing and so quick! You must feel wonderful!

Im still using sweet&low, Crystal Light, and I do have an occasional diet soda. I try to be so disciplined every where else. Luckily, I don't seem to be affected by it. But I'll never know if I could have done better without it.

I wasn't discipled last night though.... Went out for my steak dinner. 21oz NY Sirlion! and brought the sides home for my kids. Steak was awesome and so was the bottle of wine I shared with my friend. They asked if I wasn't eating carbs and I said nope, I just drink them. But boy, I'm a little tired today. Not used to stayin out til midnight.

I suppose Im dehydrated, but the scale says 133... I'll take it.

I have no catchy name for the December thread. Sorry.

Decaff coffee has sweeteners????? Well I found a coffee shop that does a gorgeous one. We were there nearly everyday last week after work---- I kept thinking how yum and sweet it was--now I know why!!!!!!! And I was having it cos I really only like (mild)Lattes--but the milk!!!!! And I thought the caffeine in a normal one could stall me!!

Seriously you'd need a PhD in hidden carbs!!!!

Hey msgirl! Nice job on the losses! Wanted to comment that as long as you not feeling discomfort, its totally normal not to go for a few days. If you are feeling discomfort, it may be the cheese.

Try upping the fat a bit for your next meal. That should help the headache. Feel better Em!

Editing to say that the fat will help if the headache is from the diet.
