Aleria - I am very apprehensive about it. My boss' daughter did Stillman's for 6 months and lost 45 pounds. She told me when she got off in THE FIRST WEEK she gained 10 pounds and took a while of eating regular foods (vegetables, salads, ect) before she got rid of the ten pounds. So, I so go 10 pounds below what you want to be to be safe.

Em! Yes, the water is so vital! Gotta flush out the crap! And we do hold onto crud while losing wt. Hormones, fat, other stuff so you MUST flush it out! Don't workout for a few days also as our bodies hold water in the muscles. Like I said, I had to STOP working out as it was stalling me.
HEY GT! Hope you had fun! I didn't want to say anything about the Atkins bars you were enjoying as I didn't want to be a KILL JOY, but, those suckers are the devil. I used them for a week once and gained 4 lbs. They arn't LC at all. I hate all those LC things. Don't worry! You'll get back into Ketosis and lose that wt. over night! Sometimes we just have to live our lives and enjoy!Doing great! Not weighing for a while as I just want to focus on the Holidays. I'm still eating the same stuff. I tried on a pair of size 2 slacks and they fit! OMG! I haven't tried on my jeans yet. I will do that on Tday. I'm so excited! I even changed my hair color. I'm a chunky blonde now! LOVE it! Life is good! When you put your heart and soul into something and it pays off, it's such a wonderful feeling of accomplishment. Have a wonderful day! BBL ![]()

I was reading through the board and realized that a lot of people that start out on Stillmans don't stick.....I hope I can hang in there! I can feel the weight leaving my body so I don't want to get discouraged!!
i want to make the soup after my family leaves....anyone got any pointers for me? I know you boil the bones in vinegar (how much?), then you add what kind of seasonings? This would be great for Friday and Saturday. I know Aleriaaa has been doing this for several weeks and has lost very well...but is there anyone else that has stayed strong for more than 3 or 4 weeks? If so, what are some tips? I love reading the boards....I have gone all the way through june and July's challenge! So, any info would be great! |

The 10 pound gain on veggies sounds horrible. I wonder if they cut back on the protein portions... hmmmm.... I guess I'll be the guinea pig and report all results when the time comes...still gonna be a while though... updating my goal weight to read 10 pounds less... with that, it'll be a really long while...

Don't shoot the messenger please. I am going to ask her the next time she comes to the office if she cut back on protein or just added in some veggies. It scares me to say the least.

Hi Beth!
Missed you-your posts are always so positive! Really-about the Atkins bars-4lbs? Yeah I thought I had struck gold with them! Actually the first one tasted so good but the second time I had one it tasted "fake" And prob TMI but they did not agree with me!! And didn't think they'd kick me out of ketosis-don't know cos don't use the sticks anymore! What a fip-off!Congrats on the slacks-that really is the best! Cos really it's def smaller we want to get-o.k. lighter too-but you know what I mean!Oh and welcome to the blonde club-I went blonde too after a couple of stone off-amazing how confident a little weight -loss makes you!! xx |

Hi Msgirl!
[QUOTE=msgirl;12784902]I was reading through the board and realized that a lot of people that start out on Stillmans don't stick...They don't stick cos it's so repetitive and boring!!- but once you get over that youu'll do fine---and actually that can be rather good in a way-you don't have to think too much about it! I def find that aspect of it good. I know Aleriaaa has been doing this for several weeks and has lost very well...but is there anyone else that has stayed strong for more than 3 or 4 weeks? If so, what are some tips? I have been doing Stills really since May-o.k. that has been with a few cheats (Al was v.dedicated!)but basically been doing it. Think I was about 195 then. I don't have tips(you've prob read my rants) but it does work! The only thing I would say is be prepared-like always have boiled eggs in the fridge-handy to take with you! I love reading the boards.... We all love the boards and this is def the best bunch!!! ![]() |

Here's hoping Al!!! Seriously even if I gain a couple of pounds-(I mean just a couple)it wouldn't be so bad but I don't ever intend to weigh 250 again-ever.
I see you "downgraded" you goal weight-that would be my ideal too-119! But I'll work on getting to the first one first tho! |

I used to have that book-I can't remember anything about after goal-maybe he knew something we don't!! I remember him saying something like you would loose 5-10% of your extra weight in the first week and 5 pounds a week thereafter!!

thanks for the recipe again Aleriaaa!~ Can't wait til after Thursday and I am gonna give it a whirl!
I too would like info on maintenance....should prove quite interesting. So, Al - you lowered your goal - WOW~ Would it be beneficial to go 10lbs below goal and then prepare for the instant gain from adding foods back in? PLEASE, PLEASE Aleriaa when you get to goal keep up with us so we can know some tips from someone who is actually in maintenance! Getting there - thanks for the hints of always having something prepared! I think that is def a major key!!! |

Hi Al! God I would looove someone to say that to me!!! I'm 5'6". But I do have a small enough frame-and I think I def weigh light-I mean-how can I explain it-I know I have a lot more to loose. I have friends who weigh 133-140 but are thin. I know I won't be thin at that weight. I can wear a uk10 now and I think at this weight I should be more like a u.k. 14. Which makes what I did weigh doubly(can't spell!) bad.

Speaking of hair.... I think I'm going to get blonde extensions for my goal weight celebration. It's like $1200 out here, so my guess is, its not happening. Anyone have them? Whats the upkeep like?

9 chicken legs---go Al!!
I don't think he could be alive-well I don't know but I think that book was written in the 70s and I don't think he was that young-well he'd be old-maybe he died of a turkey overdose! I can't do my quotes the same as everyone else! I click the quote button but it doesn't come up like everyone elses-like in a box!! |

No, would like them tho-they're just as expensive here! Think the upkeep is fierce-you have to use special shampoos and stuff!
