stillman diet cottage cheese

can I use low fat instead of fat free? I've been doing atkins but I can't get past 179 so I'm trying to use stillman's to break my plateau.. I wasn't losing lbs or inches and was getting fustrated. today will be my first day on stillman's. Any support, or advice is welcomed.

I think I'll still use the low fat.. I'll only have .5 cup per day since that would be the equivalent of a full cup fat free. roughly 6 carbs... wish me luck!

I also use fat free plain yogurt, too. Tastes good with a 1/4tsp of unsweetened cocoa and sprinkle of cinnamon.

Hi pancakegirl! You dont need luck 'cause your gonna do great! The first few days are a little rough. JUST PRESS ON! Day 3 or 4 will be easy shmeasy! Let us know how youre doing and say goodbye to some serious pounds!

I don't have much advice on the cheese. Im not including it at the moment. My guess would be that the modification would be fine. Stillman says we can have ketchup (which still makes no sense to me), so I don't think a little extra fat would make a huge difference.

On the fat free cottage cheese. I have the book and he never says to use fat free or lowfat cottage cheese, just 'cottage cheese'. I use the lowfat of my own personal preference.

the diferences are:
1. fat free= 70 cals for 1/2 cup
2. lowfat= 80 cals for 1/2 cup
3. fullfat= 110 cals for 1/2 cup

Lowfat tastes a heckofa lot better than the fat free to me so it's worth the extra 10 cals for 1/2 cup. By the way the full fat version tastes great but I don't want 30 more cals per 1/2 cup. It doesn't taste that much better to me.
