Oops -- forgot to add my food for yesterday: cottage cheese with low-carb ketchup, 4 boiled eggs, .5 lb. ground turkey with 1 wedge of laughing cow light cheese, 2 string cheeses, and 1 lb. shrimp with frank's hot sauce for dinner (I really tried to use the cocktail sauce, but it was SO sweet. Ick.).
I was a little worried about all the salt (not for health of course, but weight gain) but I lost another pound and probably felt so energetic in part because of the extra sodium. Also, ran 3 miles. Okay, now I'm really going. |

Im listening to the Thin Commandments (I have the audio book, too) as I clean out everything in the house today...im thinking of putting it on my ipod as I run, too!
Yea, Daisy...Stillmans will have you up REALLY early! Its awesometastic! And I still lose during TOM, and the PMS isnt so bad - I dont even get the water gain/bloat/cravings. I dont even remember what it feels like. I cant even tell when Im about to get it - its weird, just sorta comes and goes. But that could be from my running too - so who knows. Its true - the more clutter free your house is - the more adapt you are to eat cleaner and stick to routine. Daisy is today day 3 for you??? The first 2 are always the hardest - Im doing 5 days in a row with my break on Halloween. I have my ground turkey ready, I need to go pick up my Smartwaters from Sams today - and I should probably get some lean top sirloin steaks, too. I just buy all that stuff in bulk, and my fridge is stocked with TONS of meat. Its like the only thing in there. ![]()

Chessie: My experience was that it took 3 days to totally get rid of the cravings. On day three, I was actually light headed and thought I was going to be sick for part of the day. I toughed it out and once that was over.. I was good to go. (Hubby never had any symptoms). .Unfortunately, I never truly went into ketosis. In the very beginning I was totally obsessed with this fact, but after reading and checking out some web-sites. . I found that some people just don't go into it deeply. I bought some test strips and I never got beyond a trace and hubby was always in the purple! I think everyone is different. STAY STRONG!! You can do it and it will work - the weight will come off no matter if fast/slow. I'm very impatient and It has taken me since mid July to lose roughly 24 pounds and I've been very anal about this Die - T. . We will be sticking by you. . Go. .go..go..
Miss Daisy: Isn't it wonderful.. the energy!! I am still in shock over how awful those bad carbs can make a person feel. I no longer have any bloating, no mysterious vapors and no indigestion! It is great. I feel much happier (may be the side effect of finally doing something positive), more rested and I am always on the go.. .I love it as I was high energy to begin with. .It is amazing that I had a weight problem because I rarely sit and do just one thing. I always multi-task! Silly: What a great idea.. I'm getting on the library website right now to see if I can download that book.. I forgot all about being able to do that. I've listened to several others that way but quit going to the library now that I don't walk on my lunch hour any more. . Darn weather. . I might start going to the mall on my lunch hour and become one of those irritating mall walkers who mow people over!! Now that the teeny boppers are in school, should make it easier. . I'm always so excited to get new ideas from this site. .Thank you for making my day, all!! Yesterday, I was 100% golden. . . Today I started my day with Tuna Cereal. minus the milk and cereal part!! I was thinking lunch shall be Steak Spaghetti minus the spaghetti and sauce part. . . If all else fails, I resort to trickery.. BTW ![]() ![]() I'm down another pound. .Another whole pound.. I feel like it's Christmas !!! Haven't seen a real loss like that in a while. . Yipppeeeeeeeee Good Luck everyone! Happy Monday to me. . Happy Monday to you..

Yes we're all different. I usually take a super long time to really get into ketosis and get my appetite trimed down. Good news for me this morning I'm at 200.5 so getting close to my goal of Onederland. Stillman's works, even for old ladies.

Hi-
I really need you guys as there really are no Stillman's groups out there. I was on here a few months back and did great, but another Air Force move, living out of a hotel for a month and not working for the first time in 27 years took me so far off track that I am now officially the heaviest I have ever been. I feel disqusting. Stillman's is the only thing that works for me, so I hope you don't mind another person hanging with you. Day one....... |

I am starting to low carb again after being away for a long time. I am the heaviest I have been in years and I had switched over to WW but haven't lost a pound. I am trying Stillman's until Friday. I have a dinner to go to on Friday night and then I will try to stay on it for another week.
I need to keep trying my jeans on, as none fit at the moment. I am 10 pounds away from them buttoning, so I can do this, right? Yesterday, I went for a 5 mile mountain hike, today I plan to run and lift some weights- trying to get a bit of fitness in each day. |

Hey everyone! Mind if I join? I've been here off and on for a while, but i would really like to give it another shot.
I lost 100 pounds with Atkins/stillmans about 6 or 7 years ago and somehow over time have gained it all back, and then some. I'm very disgusted! I know this can work, so I'm ready to give it another go! I lived on these boards last time. Its such a great motivator! I started yesterday and I thought i did pretty good, but i weighed myself today and actually gained a pound! has that happed to anyone? I had :B:1 scrambled egg L:2 lean ff pieces of lunch meat ham s:3 bites ff cottage cheese D:lean hamburger patty with 3 T ff cottage cheese I had a gallon of water! I didn't get to work out though. I thought it was maybe the ham, but I have always eaten that nd had no problem, maybe my boby is different now. Any suggestions? Thank you! Tina |

Down 3 pounds!!!!!
I was 157 this morning...I really need to update my stats on the left...but I will be back to that weight in no time with Stillmans...Appetite is low this morning and I am feeling great...Chinamom.... I know exactly how you feel..right now nothing fits me, this is the heaviest I have been ever not counting pregnancies....I really dont want to go anywhere because I truly have nothing to wear..it is sooo depressing Tina.... welcome!!! I am sure it is just water weight, I remember a long time ago the same thing happened to me on my second day..the first day I lost like 2 pounds the next day I gained a pound I was so mad and almost gave up..then I lost 3 pounds the third day and I felt stupid about complaining....so dont worry about the 1 pound if you stick to Stillmans the weight will come off and come off quickly...it is impossible not to...I try not to weigh everyday because the ups can kill you.... How is everyone else doing??? Jessie |

Hi everyone! Welcome Bethyz, Chinamom and Tina!!!! Coming here and deciding on Stillmans is the best thing you could have done for yourself and us!! We need your support and motivation too! Lets get these darn pounds off together!
Stillmans, by far, is the best solution for quick results! The proof is in the chicken! and pork chops!, and lean ground beef!! I've hit a new low, and I mean this in the best way possible...... 147!!!! |

Hey tina!! I agree with chessie. Do not worry about that pound! It will come off plus some!!! I dont really trust lunch meat. I know the serving you had was sooo minimal, but with ham, there are usually some hidden sugars to make it taste so darn good. Plus the sodium could be high. I find it much more rewarding to gobble up 2 pork chops instead! Just a suggestion.
You are gonna do so great this time around! Im rooting for you! ![]() |

Great job Chessie and Aleriaaa!
Welcome Chinamom! Welcome Tina! Tina..yes probably water weight. I don't know how many calories a day your body is used to having but your calories are pretty low and it's possible your body is rebelling. You can definitely lose this weight again! I started at 315 on Stillman's and lost 15+ pounds the first three weeks, eating around 1,200 calories a day. Anyway you've come to the right place. This is pretty much the only Stillman support on the net and folks are helpful and supportive here. You can do this! |

To all the new people!Today is my day 1 of my 5 days! I may not make it that far though - I lose so quick on this WOE - after 2 days I normally need to counteract the loss. So I will keep an eye on it. I think its the combo of running with the fat loss already from Stillmans. Its crazy. If you girls arent already walking or doing some form of exercise (walking and running is the only thing I have ever seen results from, personally - I GAINED from Taebo!) you may wanna try it. I have noticed a HUGE difference in the amount I lose. The question about the 1 pound gain: could be anything. Drinking a gallon of water will definitely do it Put a gallon of water on the scale - if your putting that in your body, I'd imagine your gonna be up too. Salt is a possibility, but "fat free" deli meat will normally have about 2 carbs for every 2oz you eat. And if you are carb sensitive, thats gonna effect you. One of the tips from the Thin Commandments that has stuck out for me is: Dont eat with your hands - if you are a finger food person. Its insane the difference when you make yourself eat with utensils. Im a huge finger food person - bread, pretzels, cupcakes. Imagine how much less you eat when you make yourself eat a cupcake with a fork and knife. Or bread for that matter - for me its never about the taste of the food (Im a texture person - I crave textures not tastes) its about the process. I like to sit in from of the TV (I cant eat an entire bag of doritos at the table, thats no fun) I like to eat with my hands, and relax. See...thats the great thing about the book. You recognize your behaviors..and you change them. Like telling myself "Okay, eat whatever you want - BUT it must be at the table and with a fork and knife!" There is an100% chance I will eat healthy. If I cant lounge and eat with my hands (snack, basically) then whats the point? Yea....and I dont keep ANYTHING off limits in my house. Everything in my fridge is 100% protein and a ton of water. If I want something "bad", I have to literally drive 10 miles to the nearest Walmart. Forgot to add yesterdays food: All day turkey burger, no seasons, no dips/condiments. Thats another thing w/me...when I have no mustard or seasons, i eat a TON and I mean a TON less. You really feel like you are just eating to get rid of hunger. Its amazing. This week im sticking to turkey burger and plain chicken, no frills. Just gettin er done. Thank you all so much for your replies! I was so bummed when I saw that 1 pound gain I was thinking of throwing in the towell. I was so sure I did everything right and still gained?? I couldn't wait to jump back on here, and was hopeing at least 1 person would say something to make sense, and I had a bunch of people! How great is that! You are all awesome!
I am gonna do my best to stay off the scale cause i am to easily discouraged. Have a great day! Tina |

Tina - I would recommend staying off the scale and keep going. This plan is no-fail if you follow it to a "T". Do you have the book? If not, you can find it on Amazon very cheap...its makes a difference to read the book.
Some people dont do well with the cottage cheese (like myself) or any other cheeses for that matter. The more variety, the more you think about it - the harder it is (for me at least). Keep very busy, and when its time for your meal - keep it simple. Thats the best advice I can give. When I start thinking about food and choices and what I will have - recipes, ect. It makes it almost seem impossible. Recipes and Stillmans? thats not an equation for success in my opinion. This diet is meant to be strict, feed hunger only, and work wonders! One thing I have noticed about making it work is getting your head right with it. If you try and make it enjoyable, you put too much emphasis on the food -Such as: "Im eating SF jello because I want a dessert, so maybe this will fool myself into thinking im eating normally and take away the craving and leave me satisfied"....never works. You know better. You are eating SF jello, not the cake you REALLY want, and your brain knows it. So...you just want the cake even MORE because you wont feel satified until you have the real thing. Whats this do? Makes you binge on either low carb stuff - or makes you just binge on whatever because you arent getting that satisfied feeling. Thats why (for some of us) leaving out all that stuff is the difference between making this WOE work and not work. I leave out the mustard because I want my body to know I mean business - Im not going to "mask" the turkey with a ton of mustard so that its easier to eat. Mustard with my turkey burger reminds me of real burgers, which makes me want one. Plain turkey reminds me that Im eating plain ole lean turkey - which isnt fun, and it doesnt bother me when Im finished - and im not left craving more. May sound odd and way too analyzed...but it really helps. It works. Thats just my strategy. |

Chessie! Wonderful. . .You are doing something great. .Keep it up!!!
Tina: Don't sweat it. . your body is taking time to shift a few things and you will see great losses very soon. Every single time I start a weight loss program - things are different! I do find I retain water more when I eat ham. .but it all eventually pans out. .You'll do fine. .especially if you've had luck with it before. . Alerriaa: How long have you been on Stillmans? Just curious.. it seems as though I've been on it forever. I should be a toothpick by now.. Technically, I started with Atkins and am not totally sure when I switched to Stillman's . . I'm OK with my progress but it makes me wonder why everyone else is so far ahead? It kinda makes me afraid to start with any carbs, again. . I haven't had a real gain since I started but boy O boy it sure is coming off slowly. .(OK. .I'm done with my pity party and back to serious weight loss business . .. ) I guess I hafta do some more exercise. . still waiting for my darn books to come in . . . so far: B - 2 boiled eggs, Coffee L - Grilled Chicken Plain with Water. . |

I am so weak. Yesterday, after a rip-roaring start, I got beat down by the baby. I am a courier for my husband's business so I pass about 489 fast-food places a day and can ignore all but the ice-creamy ones. But I made it past all the DQs, then got lunch for my husband at sonic and, out of nowhere, I was reminded of the (what I thought was false) promise I'd made to my inner baby the night before: you can have ice cream tomorrow. So I had a PB sonic blast...large.
But, I didn't throw the bathwater out with the baby (can I torture this metaphor any more?) -- I felt so bad that all I had the rest of the day was 2 TBSP of coconut oil b/c I felt like I was getting the flu (have you guys heard of the antimicrobrial/antiviral powers of C.O.? I just read about how effective it is in WW magazine and have been waiting for a chance to test it; well, during the night I woke up feeling feverish, but this morning I felt fine, just a little tired.) I will unleash my inner-tweaker now and cut out the cottage cheese and ketchup; I don't know if that's what contributed to my cave in, but I'm not gonna chance it. The good news is that I still lost .5 pound and am back on course today. Yay! Tina -- this WOE can be VERY salty; I retain fluid like crazy and am going to watch the sodium too, especially heading into TOM. Everyone is right about Stillman's: it WORKS (even thought I've only had one clean day, just simple science supports its effectiveness). YAAAAAAAAAY Jessie!!!!!! 3 pounds overnight is what I'm talking about! Woo-hooooo! Sillyerin -- I'm sitting here drinking my smartwater (it's kinda tangy); you'll be happy to hear that I haven't had one drop of AS (no diet soda, no DaVinci) since starting this, thought I am using a few drops of stevia. Thanks for all the great advice and support, girlfriend!!!! Aleriaaaa -- How 'bout I present a Thin Commandment a day? I mean, I'll try to give you all the reader's digest version; my book is so heavily marked-up that it's easy to just post the highlights of each one. Okay, off to make some meat (just have had boiled eggs so far). Later! |

Daisy - Smartwater - tangy? Are we talking the Glaceau Smartwater? Its just vapor distilled water w/electrolytes. I hope youre not drinking the vitamin water stuff. eeek!
I dont know how you do it - eat a sonic blast and then stay on track. My mind is so "all or nothing" I would have wanted a cake after that. Did you take the Coconut oil after the ice cream and notice it was easier to stay on the straight and narrow? Let me know what brand you got - the virgin C.O. from Amazon. I almost ordered it Sunday - but Donnie had other stuff to get and its free shipping over $25. |

Sillyerin: Yep, it's the right water but I think I'm so used to "bland" water that the elecrolytes had a compounded chemical reaction with my tastebuds to result in tangination. At least that's the simple explanaiton (will I ever learn to spell?).
The CO definately might have helped (it's nutiva brand and the best price around; they also sell smaller jars of the virgin CO at krogers -- if you guys have one -- or any of the "better" grocers) but I also wonder if it was a CAD reaction since I ate it w/i and hour... Hmmm. |
