Getting there - TOM or no TOM, 2 lbs up is normal when you eat more food and have a larger carb meal. In fact, its low. I'm up at least 4lbs the next day. It goes down, no biggie. The trick is to treat ur body like a machine, not be so emotionally connected to it. Don't react like its offending you. You just keep on with ur routine.

You need to know that 2 lbs is coming off, and taking a lot more with it. You won't be perfect 100 percent of the time, just don't let 1 day become 3 or 4 in a row. Get right back to eating clean, I think ur doing great.

Ironic - HI! and Welcome!

So the past couple days I have been having lean burger, I dont really like the way I feel eating it. I think its still too fatty. I tried upping my fat some cause my calories were way low, and with the running im doing - i dont wanna screw with my energy. My muscles were sore today and yesterday which made me fatiqued. I HATE that feeling. I took it easier today, mostly walking.

My goal is to run this half marathon (13 miles) in less than 2 hours - ehhhhh, thats scary!

Hope you all had a great day! Hows the diet coming with the clean additions? Any progress?

Hi Everyone and a big hello to our newest members! Stillmans is great. Such awesome results when you stick to the plan (or sillyerins even better plan)

I've been eating lots of turkey and tuna. Yesterday, I did include the dark meat.

Haven't had any crystal light but did have a couple sweet&lows and few peices of gum. The results are in and I am 149, as of this morning.

Crystal light will not be passing my lips any time soon!

I was sick from eating meat over the weekend. I think I'll stick with my veggie and egg Stillman's for the next week and see how it goes.

OMG! YAY! 149!!!!!!! Youre in the 140's! Im so happy! So how does it feel?

You know what I LOVE about this plan? The cleaner I eat, the earlier I wake up in the morning. I was up early this morning and felt AWESOME! Im gonna cut out the lean beef and just make it for my husband, my body likes ground turkey and fish much better.

I also feel bloated and retain water when I eat more than 1 egg a day - maybe a sensitivity, anyone else feel this?

Hey all. .

Lets just say that today is the newest start for me! Yesterday I woke up with a headache and felt like crappy doo all day so I really didn't do much of anything. Hubby and I had to run all over after work (with the kids) so I did not cook anything. We did stop for dinner, at a steakhouse . I ordered a steak and grilled veggie skewers.. and salad. I consider that a success in itself as I did not pig out (the steak was petite) so I don't think I blew the plan too much. Although, I did feel a little bloated last night.

anywho. .that is behind me . I started my day with plain water (yippeee!! - that's one small hurdle). .Black coffee . . 2 cups and a boiled egg. Lunch is right around the corner and I'm thinking tuna, tuna, tuna.

Aleriaaa: WTG. .You really deserve some kudos!!! I'm way behind you but I intend to catch up real soon. .Stuck in the 150's (high 150's) so I have a ton of work to do. I'm also thinking my "goal" weight might be a little high (its the old WW goal) so we shall see when I hit it if that's how I'm thinking. Right now, that's what I'll strive for. . .I'm dusting off my exercise CD's tonight and gonna get up early and do one!

Thanks for the kudos ladies!!! I don't think I'll weigh tomorrow because I want to bask in the glory of the forties for a bit. (Im sure it'll go up soon)

For those of you that have an off-plan meal, do the headaches come back the next day when you go back to all meat? sillyerin, I'm guessing not for you, since you do it once a week. I'd love to try it but I don't know if I can trust myself to do it just once.

IM2 - I haven't exercised at all! You bust out a cd, and I'll match you tomorrow!

What does your menu look like?

2 cups of black coffee and a boiled egg is usually a snack.

Beware of being stuck in the canned tuna. My trainer/nutritionist warns me all the time of the mercury content.

I know most of the fish that Stillman has on his list, I don't eat. Salmon is my next choice but I buy that fresh and broil it with rosemary and lemon juice. I don't like it in the can.

Otherwise, I'm sticking with the no meat option version of Stillman's for the next few days.

Ok, I wasn't able to stay on my own plan and had to have some almonds to satisfy my urge for carbs.....Still I lost 3 pounds. I am pumped. The goal is to get closer to my plan and as sillyerin says get in ketosis and not think about food. I do believe my strongest urge to eat is in my brain and not my belly....

You are actually satisfying your urge for fats. Almonds are good in a pinch.

I realized why I feel like Uck.. Woke up with a horrible sore throat and can feel a cold brewing. double Uck!~ Today was a rough day at work. no energy to do anything. .but I do have a cute story to share with ya'all..

I have a horrible habit of overloading myself with "stuff" when I go to work . .I carry a planner, purse, tote bag, lunch bag, coffee and my signature water bottle.. So, yesterday, I headed into work to find the door was still locked. . Carefully balancing my load, I tried to unlock the door and run into the vestibule before the "Kids" came in (did I mention I work at a youth detention center?) . After prompting from the staff, one of the kids came running up to assist me with the door... I stepped inside and immediately knew something wasn't right! Feeling something funny brush my leg,I looked down to see my slip sitting around my ankles! What could I do but gracefully step out and pick it up. . The girls were laughing hysterically when I overheard one of the boys ask: Was that her underwear? Another girl offered the explanation: No, silly. .that's her slip.. you know it's just like leggings but for old people! OMG. .I was totally embarrassed.. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry (especially the old part)as I crammed the slip into my lunch bag and marched into my office. What a great week its been!

And how was your week?

Well at least is WASN'T your underwear!

And I dont think she was saying you were old - I think she was just explaining it that way to the kid. To a kid - everyone older than them is old. I remember the first time I was called "that lady" by a kid - (not "that girl")...I freaked. "WHAT?! Im a lady now?". Of course I was trying to hit his dog with a broom...long story.

So how is everyone doing???

I had the crappiest day yesterday...you know, when it feels like a thunderstorm inside your body? I was sooo irritable, like I would cry at the drop of a dime. My body was just TAXED! Running, stress, diet - I was OVER it! So I had some ice cream! I feel SOOOO refreshed today...I so needed that!

OK. .I still feel like crappy doo but I'm making the most of it. I took cold medicine this morning so I am very, very thirsty. I did stick to my plan so far ..1 boiled egg for breakfast..chicken for snack.. more chicken for lunch and planning to have grilled pork for supper. .I can't taste anything so it shouldn't matter. Perhaps it is time to try the sardines that are way back in my cupboard!

Aleriaaa.. don't feel too bad. I'm up again too - I don't know how much because I haven't felt like stepping on the scale but I can feel it - and I can't quite give up my diet Pepsi. I've given up just about everything else and try to reason that the Diet Pepsi won't kill me. I'm not craving sweets so that's how I try to justify it. Ugg. never ending battle but it will all work out in the end - it may stall weight loss for awhile but you have to live! At least we are more aware of what we can/can't have and can cut back as we need to.

Silly: Sometimes ice cream is just what we need! Don't beat yourself up and thank you for sharing.. We've all been there. .

I was feeling ucky yesterday too . . darn cold *&^!+ ) I do want chicken noodle soup really, really bad! I may have to try and make some up.. .. minus the noodles of course.

I think I have to go back and review the basic rules for some renewed insight!

Drinking the Crystal Light, diet soda, or adding sweet & low don't make me crave other foods or sweets either, and even if it did, I will not cheat. Its been like 83 days (but whos counting) and I have not gone off plan. I gave up the Crystal Light because I was honestly drinking gallons. Guess all those 5 calorie servings could add up to a lot of useless calories. Not to say I won't indulge in some of my favorite, peach tea, at some point, but at least I have a better grip now. I want to live every once in a while too!

IM2 - I hope you feel better soon! Great job sticking to plan with the cold!

The crystal light makes me eat more - plus, its got 8 carbs for every half gallon. (Even the walmart off brand...just cause it says 0 carbs doesnt mean they arent there) So - u drink a gallon of it - thats 16 carbs. And sure, in the grand scheme of things - 16 isnt bad considering we get 0 from all the protein. BUT - if ANY carbs stimulate the appetite for you (like with me) youre getting the appetite stimulation PLUS the risk of not losing any weight.

I dont trust nutrition labels. Certain "diet" foods - if its under some number they dont have to list it. I cant remember the details - BUT, people think they are consuming stuff with practically nothing in it, which isnt the case. These "free" foods add up. Splenda has 1 carb per packet, and if youre drinking stuff w/splenda PLUS crystal light, PLUS, all the others - you could be taking in 20 - 30 carbs without realizing it.

Thats why I stick to what I know has 0 carbs - there is no guesswork and its simple. Plus, there is always weightloss - it ALWAYS works 100% of the time...no frustrating myself. It just works and its simple. Wouldnt you rather do what you know works? There are no "lucky" days where today you actually lost weight. Its just continuous - no wondering or hoping about it.

You wont have to say to yourself "I hope I get a woosh here in the next couple days"...cause you just KNOW its working.

I just wanna help u guys, I hate seeing people frustrated with their weight.

So so true. Like the tuna in water isnt really in water, or my all time favorite - Hellman's Mayo. I actually emailed them a while back asking just how many carbs of sugar are in thier 46oz. container. They responded, hellmans mayonaise is always carb free. LIARS!

Well, Im still holding at 151 (for the last 3 days). Menu has been turkey and broth. Should be finished with it tonight so my plan is to do "all white meat" for next week. I've been real good - no Crystal light for a week! Mini goal is to be 145 or less come Halloween!

How is everyone else doing? Share your weight and menu please!

Yikes! The Davinci syrups I heard were the worst for stalling weight and cravings. I know a while back, a bunch of people were mailing the company and hounding them for the REAL carb count because they thought THERE HAD to be extra stuff in there.

Tons of people stall on that stuff.

Yesterday for me:

(all day) around 12 oz turkey burger, plain.
99oz Smart water (3 x 1.5 liter bottles)
Ran my 3 miles.

My bottles say 0 calories/carbs for a 2 T. serving except for Cherry which says 1. I remember one time in the main lobby someone posted they had asked for more info on them and it was like 8 carbs per bottle, but I'm not sure. Maybe a search would help clear that up.

Here's a link:

I remember reading on some forum that someone had called Da Vinci directly and they said that there were carbs in it - 4 carbs per bottle. It must have been the big bottle, because at 2 Tbsp per serving, that would be less than 2/3 of one cal/serving (0.64 cals/serving), and less than 1/5 carb per serving. (If it was the smaller bottle, they would have legally had to admit to one calorie per serving)

So it's not truly totally calorie or carb free - but very close to it. Using normal serving amounts (or less), unless you're carefully tracking every 1/10 of a carb, I wouldn't bother to count it.
And more info (sweetening strength):

Thanks Locarbman and others. This info is awesome. I will have to pick some of this up. I love the thought of note dealing wiht the carbs in the maltodextrin in powdered Splenda.

Out here, where I live, I get the DaVinci syrups at Cash and Carrry/United Grocers, which is a wholesale place. They have a huge selection of SF syrups for $3.88 per large bottle.
Hope that helps!
