Well thanks.
I think you can do it... and remember, if a day seems overwhelming, and you feel like you are going to cheat, whatever. Then switch over to atkins induction...
That way you wont put on any water weight and you will be able to indulge, it wont set you back... so if you can say no to the cake, and have a big ribeye steak instead, you will feel satisfied and wont feel guilty/gain.

20 days is awhile... maybe at your half way point have a day when you will not be following stillamns but instead follow atkins induction. That will give you some freedom, and keep things a bit more interesting? a reward for doing so well?

I think you guys are just doing amazing! way to go...
i was way off plan today, tisk tisk, so bad. I need someone to yell at me, i feel like crap emotionally and physically. Tomorrow i am going or AWF with the exception of a protein shake after my workout and one before bed... we will see. Give me all of your good juju, i need to pull this next day off!

Remykins - sorry to hear that it was a rough day for you! Can I ask what plan you are following? I would love to support you!!! (By the way, what does AFW mean? I tried looking it up in acronym finder, but none of them seemed to make sense in the context. ). So tell me your EXACT plan tomorrow, step by step!! Perhaps if you outline it exactly, you'll have a solid vision of how you want tomorrow to look, and that way, you can come back and report on your goals! I am sending all my and good juju (LOL! LOVE that saying!) your way, sweetie!!!

I received your prayers and juju by courier late last night, but it didnt open the package till this morning as i wanted it to last

Your right, good suggestion. AFW= almost water fast
My plan is rather simple.... i follow Johnsons up day down day, and low carb. I like to keep my carbs under 30g a day... but i dont have to really.
On down days i try to water fast, or at most have 300 calories, then i can eat whatever i want (within reason, try to stay under 1700-my bmr) on up days, (every other day).

I want to lose 5-6 more lbs of body fat, and now i have finally found a way that works, however the cravings and such i am dealing with at the moment are unheard of this close to my period... sometimes i guess i can chalk up my stress to just being a woman, lol. Not hungry, just want to chew, swallow and taste...

This week i am trying to lose another 1.5lbs, but it is going to be so hard to tell because of the extra water weight from TOM.

Remykins! Great plan! So today is your AWF day except for a protein shake postworkout and one before bed! What did you do for your workout today?? I hear you on cravings during TOM! UGH, they can get so intense and brutal!! Perhaps you can set up a reward system for yourself... like, each day you stick to your plan during TOM, you do something nice for yourself! 1.5 lbs is completely doable!!! Are you using your scale to set your goal? I notice you want to lose 5-6 pounds of body fat. How are you tracking your BF?

OMG, your puppy is something adorable...
yes, so this morning i do 15 mintues on the elliptical at a heart rate of 172,
Then 60 minutes of my strength training, it is a group class where you take no stops in between sets, so it is really very much cardio lifting, pretty intense. Then i do 20 minutes of yoga...
Today i am also going to be doing a bit of landscaping (it might rain here tomorrow so i switched days), so i m allowing myself a small snack under 250 calories, because i dont want to get too weak outside. I am tracking my BF in a really odd way, i weigh myself on a scale, and take measurements of my body, and also they use a caliper to try and get a percentage. But i was thinking about it, if i just make the scale drop 6 lbs then it has to be fat if i keep up with my workouts...
To be honest it is really that i want my butt 1 inch smaller, i know, i know, no lectures please. I just want to fit back into my old pants. I had some major medical issues in which i put on some weigh and got really out of shape. I was bed ridden, and i had to eat a significant amount of fat because of the medications and they slowed my metbolism... anywho... that was a few months ago and now i have been working to get back in shape and get down to where i was before. I have changed a decent amount of fat to muscle, but have not lost as many inches as i would like. I would like a bit more muscle definition, hence by by booty.

WOW! Your cardio is done at a pretty high intensity!! When dieting with Stillmans, I have found that I cannot workout intensely anymore, or else I am left with horrible crushing HUNGER!!! It sounds like you are going at your goal in a very methodical way! Please don't think I would *ever* lecture you, sweetie! If you want your butt to shrink, that's completely up to you!!! So, you are going to have 2 protein shakes plus a snack of 250? Sounds great to me! Can't wait to hear you check in later tonight and hear about how you did with your projected plan!!!!

Stillman talks about that, he says if you dont work out at high intensity that is ok, somepoeple en up light headed, etc. You will still do ok if you dont do serious workouts, just walking around the block is enough.

Its almost 2:00 here... i have been moving all day long. I have had a protein shake, and a couple bites of cheese and peperoni... i am right on track, but after 2:00 is my trouble time, lol.

Remykins - I do full body weightlifting circuits, but have cut down the weights by at least half, as anything else is just TOO hard for me.

Great job keeping on track for the first half of the day!! So after 2 is trouble, huh? Tell me your plan for tonight. I want to hear ALL about how you make the night an amazing success!!

Do you weigh yourself every day? what kind of protein shake do you use?

I went to the grocery store, and yes i picked up a sample of granola, it was uber good, and i am not worried about the extra calories, etc (the 20 that is might have been).
I thinki am going to take a nap... it is almost 4:00 here.. mayeb an hour or two.
Then i will get up to roast a whole chicken which i will munch on tomorrow all day long. Around 6:00 i will have my protein shake, My protein shakes are:
1 scoop vanilla whey
6 oz water
2 oz almond breeze
2 tablespoons half and half
2 packets splenda
i flavor shot thing for coffee i use the cinnamon hazelnut, or butter pecan

Then i hope to head to bed by 10:00

How is your day going? what did you eat/do?

I just finished my dinner, so that concludes my eating for today! I consumed the following today:
- egg whites
- extra lean ground beef
- lean white fish

All the to tune of about 750 cals. Today is 6/20 successful days!!!!!

Remykins - your shake sounds delicious! I blend some whey/casein with water and ice, a splash of flavoring, and take it with me! It's not the most incredible tasting shake. But it does the job!

I was planning on working out today, but I was just TOO BEAT. OMG, I cannot wait to have my energy back. Tomorrow will be a workout day, and we'll see how that goes! 14 days, two weeks to go!! I can do this!!

Remykins - it sounds like you had a really successful day! I'm so proud of you! Your roasted chicken sounds LOVELY - YUmyumyum!! What a way to use your up day!!

I am excited for food tomorrow, but i will be at the docs for most of the day...
There is a subway in the office... sweet onion chicken salad for me... not quite low carb but uber yummy. I have a coupon so it is free, doesnt get much better than that! lol.

I bet you can do it, it seems like you have a great handle on it. Was it easier for you today?

Remykins!! Maybe your body is sending you a message and is telling you that your low day is TOO LOW based on your activity level!!! Perhaps you should go with your original plan of having tomorrow as your up day, and take that day to think about a strategy of how to target your down days with the right amount of nutrition for your daily activity? Just a thought from this nosy gal here. I hope you are not feeling too horribly. I believe some times we honestly can prevent these out of plan eating spurts, and other times, it's our body's evolutionary function, kicking in to make us survive no matter what! Be gentle and kind to yourself. Tomorrow WILL be better, sweetie.

I know it is not that tho.. i am not hungry, not once today was i hungry.. no grumbling, no hunger, no pain... i was actually uncomfortably full all day long. The problem is strictly emotionally/hormone related. And once i indulge it only make me feel worse, so then i eat more... so frustrating. Thank you for listening.

Oh Remykins, that is a horrible, painful cycle!! TOM is such a little bugger!!! I also have a hard time keeping my head straight when he's in the house! I am sorry it was a frustrating day for you.

Tomorrow, I think I might weigh myself to see where I am in terms of my goal. I am nervous. The last few times I weighed myself, I went into a tailspin and ate horribly!! I WILL NOT ALLOW THAT TO HAPPEN TOMORROW. No sireeeeeeee. Nope. I'm going to take the number on the scale, update my stats, repeat to myself why I want this, and MOVE FORWARD! That's the plan and I'm sticking to it!!

Hi Guys,

Just wanted to jump in with a little hi. I did Stillman's for the first time a few weeks ago (followed QWL to the absolute letter) and in 5 days lost 7 lbs. I ate til I was full, having chicken, eggs (few, not much of an egg eater) lean ground beef, lean steak, lean corned beef roast cooked in crock pot (yummy dipped in mustard and hot sauce) and low fat/low carb cottage cheese in small amounts- Here in Oz, the Weight Watchers brand was the best for these. (I changed from cappuccino to espresso with splenda during the 5 days in case you're a coffee drinker)

When I went back to my regular (well regular since May 1) way of eating that I plan on doing from now on, I only went up 1-2 lbs before starting to move back down again and I certainly don't starve. I'm in the states right now for a wedding but when I get back home to Brissy, I am going to add my Power 90 back into the mix to get rid of the jigglies. I'll probably do another round of Stillman's in August so will be checking in for motivation.

Just wanted to cheer you guys on. It really works if you really follow it! Good luck and happy meat eating!

Wow. I'm gone for a few hours and look what happens! I had to make sure I was on the right thread. NEVER expected to see this much activity. Changing, I'm so glad things are going this well for you! You can definitely keep this up. I totally get the low energy thing, though. I'm still going through pockets of it.

Remykins, I'm going to try your shake recipe. Sounds fantastic!

And, welcome Twofish and Katia! Hope all is going well for both of you!

Remykins - I'm a big chicken. BWAK BWAAAAAAK!!! I couldn't do it. I was afraid of what it might trigger, so I think I might have to wait til I am satisfied with what I see in the mirror, rather than relying on what the scale has to say. To answer your question, I am really not sure why it triggers me to eat poorly when I weigh myself at higher weights. I have done it, both when I like what I see, and when I am disappointed with what I see. There doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason to it. Perhaps when it is a number I am happy about it, it triggers a self-destructive cycle in me. And when it is negative, I feel like it's just no use, so I might as well just make myself feel better and eat! BLAH! This only happens when I am out of my comfort weight range (greater than 118), so I am trying to get back there!!!!

Did you decide on what you were going to do today??

Shelby!!! How are things going for you?? The energy thing is the most annoying part of this protocol. I'm not used to feel so tired all the tmie. LOL!! But I like what I see so far, and I can do 13 more days of this!

I am doing an ud today, through saturday. These first couple days of TOM are killing me, and instead of beat myself up, i am just goign to take some time off and then get back into it on sunday. OI am goign to miss my workout tomorrow to take care of some family stuff, my dog is sick and my truck needs some major repairs.. although they have not diagnosed it yet, they cant quite figure out what is wrong with it, so in other words $$$$$$$, there is no way i could stay on track. So today i have just had 500 calories worth of bananas, ice cream, and a granola bar.. i cant care about anything right now or i am setting myself up for failure unfortunately. I am just trying to stay under 1500 a day for the next few days.

Hey there, guys. Remykins, hang in there. I'm sure you'll manage your numbers the next few days so you can rebound when things are less stressful and you don't have to deal with TOM. Seriously, it's a wonder any woman can lose any weight having to deal with that each and every month until we're too old to have it and then automatically gain weight. How long have you been doing JUDDD? I'm very interested in that WOE.

On the energy front, Changing, I went through something similar for about 3 weeks when I first started (although I had not been eating VLC prior so that had to be part of it). All of a sudden things just got better eventually. I am not going to be running while on this WOE, but I have been able to do some good walks up the hills here in San Francisco. Hopefully your energy will kick back in soon!

I have been out of control on the sugar alcohols this past day (TOM here, too). Not good, although I don't seem to have the side effects. Not exactly helping me kick my chocolate habit, though, SF chocolate is still chocolate . . .

I was on a 3 month stall (i was trying all sorts of things), and then i started JUDDD a couple weeks ago... the first week i dropped, and i have since then... with the exception of recently.

If i could get 3 more solid weeks under my belt i would hit goal... i just have to get through this week without gaining... lol.

Remykins, I am sorry for the hardships you are experiencing right now. I cannot even begin to imagine what you are feeling right now. Please treat yourself well during these tough times! I think that maintaining would be an incredible goal right now!! Please let me know if I can ever help!!

Oscarsmom - LOL!! Sugar alcohols and I are not friends. I love them but they do not love me! In fact, I just had ONE SF werthers, and it is letting me know in NO uncertain terms that I should not DARE to have another one again.

All right! Today is 7/20 successful days! I ate:
- fish
- turkey
- protein shake

I can do 13 more days of this! Absolutely!!!

8/20!!! Today, I ate:
- extra lean ground beef
- white fish

OMG. This is. SO. HARD. I cannot see my friends because my social interactions ALWAYS involve FOOD, like most other people! I feel like a hermit. Blaaaaaah. The next 12 days need to go by FAST.

You can do it... it is still hard this many days in? maybe you need a high calorie (low carb) day. Just dont worry about the cals as long as you stay on track, than you wont feel so deprived -you can go out and have a burger with your friends without the bun. Even so you are right on track, and think of the results! you are doing so well, im proud of you!

I actually had a pretty good day today, not worrying about calories, but the cravings are still there, however i have yet to experience true 'hunger'. I force fed myself some salad today with turkey on top, and a protein shake after my workout. Same thing tomorrow, maybe my food reserves will be depleted and i can remember what it feels like to be truly hungry, then truly satisfied.

just thought i would join on this thread as it seems active ,and i need support.
was doing very low carb atkins and atkins induct.for about a month.lost 11 lbs but that was in first 10 days.
then crashed a few days ago and had 3 day binge.yikes.
am on day 1 of stillmans today.
i want to do it for a week and see how i go.
i finally just weighed myself and have put on around 5 lb...168.6.
to be honest i thought it was going to be worse...i ate huge amount of sweets and fruit??!!
i wont change stats yet.
i have a problem with binge eating on emotions .it does seem to be better when i am
in ketosis .started taking 5 htp this week which is meant to help with craving...see how it goes.

First off, welcome... yes we are a bit chatty here...
And dont worry about the time, i post at 3:00 am at times, or 5:00am in the morning (i have a sleep disorder). I really suggest reading over the thread thus far, especially the beginning, there are some great topics. If you need help or have a question go ahead and ask, i check in way too often ;P
