alcohol on stillmans

Does anyone have a few drinks on stillmans and still lose?]
my cals and carbs and fat are so low on this plan that i'm thinking a few low carb beers shouldn't do too much damage.
thoughts?

well in my case I can't as any type of alcohol stalls me, even sugar alcohols like Sorbitol and Erythritol and all the -tols. Also when I was in Atkins I caught a really bad cold and even the alcohol on the cough syrup stalled me. Don't take my word on it as I am no doctor but I believe having any alcohol would throw you out of ketosis immediately.

Dizzy is right, every one is different. On Atkins, they say when you drink the alcohol, your body burns that first before it burns fat. So you won't go out of ketosis, but kind of in a pause until you body burns the alchohol. There are some carb free drinks that may work better. Every now and then I will have a scotch and water. By sipping that, it goes alot longer. If I drink beer, I tend to chug it :)

kihayes is right! Alcohol probably wouldn't kick you out of ketosis, but your body would burn the alcohol first then the ketones. And yes alcohol can stall you, so personally I don't think it's worth it. Besides even if the beer is low-carb I think a bottle still has more carbs than you would normally eat on stillmans, which is ideally under 10 g.

wish i'd had the sense to take all of your advice!!!
We just had a long weekend in Australia and i went off plan for the whole 3 days, started with a few low carb beers........
I have honestly learnt my lesson though, i feel so so awful
anyway, i'm going to have a month off grog (which is big deal for me) and committ to stillman's. i'll be posting here a lot for accountability, please remind me it will be worth it
