Is it okay...
Is it okay to do Stillman's for say 5 days and then have 2 days where you just do the typical Atkins? Would that do any harm as far as weight gain? I feel that I need to have somthing to look forward to like eating a salad or chicken wings instead of dry chicken breast. I feel like I can do Stillman's during the week but on the weekends I'd like to treat myself to Atkins stuff.
Thanks! ![]() |

I think that is a fantastic idea! go for it, make sure to let me know how it goes. Stillmans gets a bad wrap a lot, but it is really not all that bad, just roast a chicken, a turkey, grab some lean beef, lean pork, and a bunch of fish.

i'm about to do the same thing, i've been trying to do atkins but i eat too many calories and i don't know if i'm losing weight. i have a friend's wedding in 5 weeks and i seriously want to have lost some weight by then. we can cheer each other on.
i feel a bit scared for health reasons to just eat boiled eggs and lean meat for a long period of time but i guess it can't be worse than all of this weight i am carying around. today i've only had boiled eggs so far and it's 3pm(i'm in aus) and tonight i'm having grilled chicken breast with maggi seasoning (i can't do just plain chicken) i've also bought a lean steak which i will cook for dinner tomorrow night. do you think it is bad if i mainly just eat boiled eggs? they are cheap, i love them and easy sorry for rambling |

Hi, Iluvpooh, I can only tell you what works for me, hope it helps!
I've been doing Stillmans Since May 21st. the first days very very clean but the last days I've cheated by adding some gouda and cream cheese (which are not allowed in Stillman) in moderate quantitites, during those days when I really craved something different than the boiled chicken, or a dessert treat. I don't feel it has particularly affected me (who knows, maybe it slowed me down?) but it definitely did not stop my weight loss. I've lost almost 14 pounds since I started. less than 2 weeks ago. Actually I don't think it would be healthy to lose any more than that (as much as I would like to). So for me it has worked to have some eventual atkins treats but with much moderation. Soccerchic, reg. the boiled eggs I think is the best option! I wish I liked them more! But after a few days of having them as breakfast I find them very boring.. lol... but they are awesome, so filling, full of proteins, and low fat especially if you don't have the yolks (which I do not eat because I dont't liek them anyway). I think they are the perfect Stillmans food and I wish I like them as much as you do. Good luck!

wow 14 pounds in 2 weeks that is awesome, exactly what i needed to hear!
i've had 5 boiled eggs today (with yolk..) which is probably too much tomorrow i'll just have 3 and steak and chicken. how many cals have you been averaging do you think? i don't want to go too low and go into starvation mode and hurt my metabolism, again wow on the 14 pounds down!!! |

hehe thanks soccerchic, yes i am definitely super excited!
I'm eating in average 800 cals a day according to ****** however I definitely want to go higher because the last thing I want is to slow down my metabolism, so I think this weekend I will do the transition from Stillman to Atkins even if that means to slow down my weight loss. I've been thinking about it a lot and of course I love the quick weight loss with Stillman but I think the sooner I reincorporate salads to my diet the better. Stillman is a very, very effective and FAST weight loss method but because I've suffered from eating disorders in the past, the rapid weight loss is just waaaay too tempting!! So I think I'm moving to Atkins induction soon. But it was awesome to get back on the weightloss wagon by doing Stillman! It definitely motivated me a lot and now and I lost 1/3 of all the weight I need to lose in order to reach my goal. I feel much better and look better and feel much more comfortable with my body now so I am OK with slowing down the process now by doing Atkins Induction. I never thought I would miss eating veggies this much but I do, haha. So yeah ladies this works!! Good luck!! |

Everyone's body is different to how it reacts, but I have recently found that overall, QWL during the week and Induction during the weekend has worked out pretty good for me! I am pretty close to my goal, and had a stall for 3 weeks (1 on atkins ind, then 2 on stillmans). I got so frustrated, that while I was camping on Mem weekends (and a few days after), I had cake, s'mores, sandwiches, chips, bad, bad, bad. I gained 5-6 pounds! I went back on QWL and lost it all in 2 days! 1 day later, I broke my stall weight I had from before the cheat week. After that, I continued to do the QWL during the week and did induction over the weekend. I TRIED to stay away from trans/sat fat. Anyways, I still am losing. It may or may not be at the fastest pace, but its fine with me, because like you said, it gives you something to look forward to! However, only you will know what works as all our "make-ups" are different. I would try for a full week and see how you do.
