Just wait a little bit more. The ketosis probably haven't fully kicked in yet. It'll get easier in a couple of days...

Day 5
It feels so good not to be hungry at all. My husband is sitting next to me eating cookies and I'm not even interested.
Today's menu:
B-Turkey
L-Chicken and 1 C lettuce
D-2 Chicken breasts (they were a little dry so I had a little ranch)
S-Jello
30 min walk on treadmill

What does everyone drink? I have been doing 30-70 oz water 30-40 oz crystal lite and I love my diet pepsi 2-3 cans. This weekend I'm going to try just plain water. I will try to have only one soda.
I wish everyone the best. Liz

Hi all,
This is day 7 for me and I am down 2 more pounds today and feeling great. Not hungry and full of energy. I like this feeling and the weight loss, so I'm here for the long haul. My mini goal is to reach 200lbs, currently at 218. My birthday is July 12th, so I hope to reach mini goal or be real close to it by then.

I think that it's just taking a little bit longer for your body to go into ketosis. Sometimes, that just happens. Don't eat the fat though. I would just eat a bit more protein and see if that helps. Also, try Milk of Magnesia. I know it works for me. How is your water intake? Maybe up that too. Hang in there!

Hi Liz,
Thanks for the welcome. Good to see that you're doing well and not feeling hungry. In answer to your post. I drink about 80-90 ozs. of water a day. Sometimes it gets pretty hard. I see that you drink crystal light. I have some, but am afraid that it may stall my weight loss. I might give it a try though, as plain water is getting a little to drink.

How's it doing for you izzy? Hope everything is okay.

Hey Longstocking,
Thanks for the warm welcome. How are things going for you today?

Hang in there Jen. A month goes by soooo fast. I know we can all do it.

I have to brush my teeth and get back to work, so I hope everybody has a great day and an enjoyable weekend. Here's to the scale going down for everybody.

Day 6

Had another good day. How are you guys doing?
B-Eggs
L-Eggs
d-Eggs
30 min on treadmill
I did not do very good on my water today. We were running around so much today. I had way too much diet pepsi. I may try just eggs again tomorrow. Not that I'm a big fan of eggs, but we have chickens and they are in the laying mood right now. This morning I notice we had 4 1/2 dozen. We collected another dozen today.

Have a good weekend everyone! Liz

I got on the scale this morning and it was very nice to me. As of this morning I'm at 200Down 10 lbs since Sunday.
I hope everyone has a good weekend and I'll check back later. Liz

hello all,

well after a whole week of no losses and actually gaining 1 kilo I decided to take the weekend off... the gain might be just water weight as I do retain a lot of water before my period (yes I am still waiting for my period to arrive!!).... anyways... hope my weekend off won't cause much weight gain.

So back on clean Stillmans today....

Okay so I weighed myself and tomorrow will be the start of 30 days with Stillman's. This is crazy and I keep committing and re-committing only to break that commitment by 5pm on any given day. So tomorrow June 15 will be my start day. My planned meals are the following:

B: 4 HB egg whites
L: 2 Turkey Burgers
D: 1 Large Chicken breast
S: SF Jello

I will be walking for 30 mins in the morning, 30 at lunch and 30 tomorrow evening. I am going to take myself off of pop completely tomorrow, so 90 oz of water and after I'm done with that tea or crystal light for the remainder of the day.

If anyone sees anything that I can improve upon with this, please let me know. I'm pretty young and my leg and foot are swelling at times....this can NOT be good. I'm taking it as a wake up call prior to anything worse happening.

Anyways, I've read thru the boards and everyone here is doing AWESOME!! YAY!! I'm sooo geeked for all of you and hope to see the same success!!

Smile!

Hey, everyone!

Lora, welcome to our cozy little room here . How are things so far? Is the scale moving?

Angye, you're doing great! Way to go!

Liz, I'm glad the scale was nice to you. Keep up great work!

Izzy, I'm sorry you stalled. I don't think I can give you a better advice than be patient and experiment. How many calories do you eat a day? Maybe you could try lowering them just a little bit and see if that works? Or maybe you just need to shake things up and try calorie cycling or intermittent fasting? Do you use a lot of a/s sweetners? Do you drink any diet sodas? Some people here on the board find that most a/s stall them.
How are you doing today?

It's not like it's an excuse for me but I was so discouraged by the absence of losses last week that I ended up binging on all the carby foods in the house. It was very hard to get back on the wagon but I'm back to Stillman's again today.

Seems like my metabolism is just too slow so this time I decided to try to combine stillman's with alternate day diet and intermittent fasting and see if that works for me.
I'll keep you updated!

Good luck everyone and have a nice week!

darlahr, . I hope you like it in here.

You're menu looks great! Walking three times a day sounds awesome too!

It's good that you've decide to give up pop, Since diet sodas tend to elevate insulin levels you would probably feel less hungry without it.

Keep us updated!

Good luck!

Longstocking~~

Thanks for the warm welcome!!

I'm sorry to hear about your metabolism being slow...have you been dieting for a while?? Maybe try breaking your meals into 6 minis per day....have you tried that??? It's supposed to help!

Thank you for the heads up on my menu.....I'm hoping to get 40 pounds off by July 15 - I've been on a carby binge for quite some time now...it's really just gross. I'm not living anymore, just eating, working and taking care of my children. Time to take better care of me so I can take better care of them!!!

I hope you have a great rest of your day!

hello all,

Woke up today and I've lost a pound from the 3 I gained (I still think is all water weight....)

Anyways, after considering my options I've decided to move to Atkins induction, because I really need to start eating veggies again. Stillmans was great to give me that initial boost and it was very motivating to get rid of 14 pounds in 3 weeks, it really helped me to get in the right mindset, for which I am very grateful.

However I need this to be a lifetime commitment and with Stillmans I just feel that I am crashing diet instead so I think is time for me to move on to a slower (if you can call Atkins induction slow, lol) but more veggie friendly plan. I owe it to my health.

Good luck to you all and I wish you the best with your plan!! STAY HAPPY AND HEALTHY!!

Much love,

Izzy

I agree, Izzy, everyone should find what works for them. !4 pounds is three weeks is great, but if stillman's soesn't make you feel good, then it's better to move to something that you're comfortable with with!
I wish you all the best! Maybe you could come here from time to time to keep us updated?

I will miss!
Good luck!

Bye Izzy and good luck to you too! I hope that Atkins works for you. Whatever plan you follow, may it give you the results you want. Pop in and keep us posted of your progress.

Darlahr. We hope that you like it here. Everyone is very nice and extremely helpful.

How is everyone doing this morning? Hope there were some nice losses over the weekend. I weighed in this morning and haven't lost a pound.
The only thing that i've been doing differently is drinking crystal light. I have been eating very lean meat, chicken and eggs. I still drink at least 80 ozs of water besides that. Could the crystal light be causing me to stall?

Maybe i'm just overreacting and shouldn't be concerned. I'm gonna up the exercise and see what that does. I'll see what my weight is tomorrow and go from there.

How are the losses today longstocking? Any change? I hope the combination that you are doing is working for you.

What's up Soccerchic? Hope by now that deep ketosis has kicked in and you are not still experiencing hunger. How is the scale treating you?

Great work Liz! way to go on the loss. Keep it up.

Lora. Glad you could join us. How was your weekend?

Good luck to everybody. Hope all are well and the losses continue. Got to get to work now. Have a great day.

Good Morning Everyone!!

Hi Angye....I don't think the Crystal light would cause that?? I'm definitely not an expert, but I think you should be okay with CL??? Hopefully someone will have a better answer! You lost a lot last week,(YOU GO GIRL) so your body may just be adjusting to your new weight and then it'll continue on losing!!

I'm soo excited about being here!! WOOHOO! I'm finally doing things the right way...granted I've been at this for about ohhh 3 hours nowLOL BUT I've exercised...did some Turbo Jam, ate a really lean boneless pork chop and am getting ready to shower, etc.....had a bottle of water already too! Super excited...the sun is shining...I got this! I did not weigh today...I weighed yesterday and that's enough for me...if I went up from water or whatever, that's okay...I'll most likely wait til Wed or Thurs to weigh in next!

Anyways, you all are just wasting away and I'd like to join you in that!!

Thanks for support, Angye! I decided not to weigh myself for a while. I don't wanna stress out too much about it. I got back into ketosis again! Woo-hoo! love that feeling!

Does CL contain some kind of artificial sweetener? If yes, then it could be what causing you to stall. Here's a quote from a thread about artificial sweeteners:

The body will just compensate for less calories by reducing the rate of metabolism. The "degree" of elevation, and length of time insulin stays elevated, varies from individual to individual. Whether someone stalls from the elevation or not depends on how quickly the body is able to recover from it.
I suspect that diet soda causes me to stall (I was drinking it last week and didn't lose a pound), so this time I decided to give it up for a while.

It's a common thing to stall even on stillmans'. There could be amy reasons for that. But I whould suggest to try to stop drinking CL for a while and see if that helps.

Good luck!

Hey Longstocking. Thanks for the info. I read the crystal light box and it lists aspartame as one of it's ingredients and I know that is an artificial sweetner. Maybe my body isn't reacting well to it. I had some crystal light today, but I think that I will lay off of it for a while after I finish off this 16 oz bottle. I want to see positive results.

Great news on your being back in ketosis. I can see that scale going down for you. have a great day.

Hi all, Can I join?

I've been having major frustrations with atkins...even GAINING! I know its because I'm on medication that is notorious for causing weight gain, but c'mon, this is getting ridiculous! If Stillman's doesn't work for me, I'm going to have to consider kicking my medication to the curb, but I really REALLY do NOT want to do this as I need it to function!

Hi Heyjupiter,
My weight problem is ruining my life at the moment, well actually it has for the last 10 years, it is all I can think about and it’s driving me crazy, I feel so silly because there are so many other things to think about in the world yet this is all that is on my mind!
I have been low carbing for the last few months but not weighing so I don’t know if I have lost any weight and I seem to only ever last a few days without a breakout- starts with alcohol then turns to carbs so I doubt I have lost any weight which is annoying because I feel like I have been eating strictly, anyway, my point is I’m giving stillman’s a go too, going to last at least a week this time lol and try and shift some weight, I am sure it will work for you, it seems to work for everyone it’s just strict that’s the only thing. Congrats on your losses so far.

Hey, Liz! Welcome to our part of the board.
I hope you'll like it being here. I'm sorry you have a hard time losing weight. I also gain on Atkins. I don't take any medications that cause weight gain. I guess I just have a slow metabolism and maybe eat too much of allowed foods. It always all comes down to calories after all.

I hope stillman's works for you.
Good luck and keep us updated.

Hey, Soccerchic, welcome back!
I can relate to everything you said.
I'm sorry your weight problem is ruining your life. Sounds like you've been through a lot. But if it makes you feel any better I'm in the same boat. I think I already told you that I'm trying to recover from an eating disorder. It ruins my life, too.

Good luck with stillman's. Today, is my first day od the new stilman's round (I slipped up last week).

PM me if you wanna talk or anything.

Hey, bearcubsden, I'm glad you stick around and are staying strong with stillman's. Way to go!

Not to critique your menu, I think you're doing just awesome, but I just wanna remind you that if I remember that right, stilman's advised to not overeat eggs, because of they high fat content. I'm sure you know that but one egg has about 6 g of fat and 4 g of protein. So if you're eating just eggs your percentages look like this: 60 % fat, 40 % protein, which looks more like the egg fast. But If you're busy, eggs are probably the easiest thing to prepare.
I'm sure you will still lose a ton of weight though since it's so lowcarb. And if you feel like it works for you, there's noneed to worry.
I think you're doing great!
Keep us updated!

Eggs also have carbs... around .6 grams.... however you eat 7 eggs... thats 4.2 carbs... not much but they can add up.

Ok, people after a terrible stall (wekks and weeks and weeks), i thought all was lost, so i tried stillmans but even that was not working.... i switched to low carb JUDDD and this morning i dropped 2 lbs!!!!!! so excited, i just wanted to share my cycling success.

I already did a few days ago! Basically I wanted to do the same as you: stillman's combined with calorie cycling and intermittent fasting (which is almost the same as fast 5).

Hi Guy's!
I fell of the wagon today. It's ok I'll be right back on tomorrow. All I'll say about it is that something was going on at work today and I choose to be part of it. I don't feel bad about it because, I know I'll be good tomorrow.

Longstocking, Remykins - I did eggs the last two days for the repetition diet. I only get on the scale once a week, but today my jeans feel loose. I'll post my weight this weekend. I'll post the Repetition Diets. I got this from another Stillman post.

Dr. Stillman's Repetition Diets

A few people have asked, so I typed them out from Dr. Stillman's Book, The Doctor's Quick Inches-Off Diet, pages 134-141. Choose 1 each day.

Egg Diet~ 1 egg- 3 times a day
