oh dear, I'm sorry it has taken me a few years to mildly fix my screwed up metabolism and I know some of the damage is actually irreversible. I am actually very surprised to be losing this well and some days I feel like I am just waiting for THE STALL to happen, lol

how do your clothes feel though? do you notice any difference on your measurements?

Also I'm pretty sure you are being a good girl but doesn't hurt to ask, are you exercising and taking chromium picolinate?

Let's get to the bottom of this!!

the dry mouth and the thirst are common symptoms of ketosis. As for the white coated tongue and the pimples, those could be signs that you are "detoxing" from sugar. Give it a few days and it should go away. How long since you started Stillmans?

Let's get to the bottom of this!!
Thanks for sympathy, Izzy. I must admit, hearing that it has taken you SEVERAL YEARS () to fix your metabolism is kinda depressing. I was hoping it would be easier and faster for me. Honestly, I didn't expect that I caused such demage to my body.
But anyway, I was feeling so depressed last night after stepping on the scale that I just...binged. Which was so stupid and not worth it. I didn't even feel hungry or crave anything, but I just felt like I had to binge, ya know? I couldn't help it. I obviously hate myself for that now. I was doing sooo good, well, expect for the weight loss part... and now I have to start all over again...
There must be something wrong with my scale. I think it's playing mind tricks with me. I weighed myself again this morning and it gave me the same reading as yesterday. after a HUGE binge with fat and carbs and everything! How is that even possible? After a binge like that I must've gained at least 3-5 pounds overnight, but no... it says I'm the same weight. So I thought to myself that the scale is broken afterall and that the readings yesterday were wrong. So I took my old digital scale (that was always pretty accurate), put the new batteries in it and weighed myself again. Guess what? Exactly the same weight!!!!!!!! What does it all mean? I know I'm getting paranoid, but how I'm supposed to keep track on my success if the scale gives me these odd readings everytime?

Btw, yes, I'm taking chromium everyday and i exercise now and then, but mostly i just walk everywhere. I have a pedometer and it says I make about 12000-15000 steps everyday, which means according to some fitness site that I'm "highly active".

actually, I've noticed that some of my clothes are a little less tight. I do not take measurements, because I just don't understand the whole concept. I mean, how can you be accurate with the measuring tape when you can just suck in your stomach and voila! your waist is a few inches smaller!

I feel like **** today. I sooo regret that binge. I want to get on track asap. That's why I'm planning to do the FAT FAST for a couple of days and then when I'm in ketosis switch to stillman's..

Sorry, I'm just rambling...

Day 1

Starting stillman's today at 201! Hoping to lose at least 15-20 1bs in the next 45 days. I've tried higher fat and it just makes me even fatter....here's to hoping lower fat will get rid of some of this weight.

Had turkey for breakfast and took a 2 mile walk. Baking chicken for lunch and dinner.

Longstocking, perhaps your eating too few calories. I've never been able to lose on low calorie and gain if i go too high....why does losing weight have to be so hard and so much work. My problem in the past year has been switching from one diet to another. I'm going to stick this out for at least 45 days and go from there.

Hi Longstocking,

Hang in there, it does get better, I promise!!

Don't let my story discourage you. I abused my body for many many years and now I am in my 30's which is why is much harder for me. You are just in your early twenties I suppose? So you've got all the time in the world!!

Is quite intriguing what is happening with that scale. Is there any other scale you can use at a friends house or something?

Sounds to me that you are doing everything absolutely right and you probably just need to make a few adjustments here and there until you nail it. I personally would not go for lower calories.

And about that binge, don't be so hard on yourself girl!! If I got a coin for every time I slipped I would be millionare by now, haha. Is my belief that this is a process and we are humans not computers therefore we are allowed to make mistakes and not do it perfectly. Yes of course we will do our best but when things like these happen we just have to cut ourselves some slack and pick up where we left. Can't change what we did yesterday. Is gone. So why bother and worry about something we can not change anymore. The only thing that works for me is focus on the present and focus what I can do now and like I said some time ago, work on learning new skills that allow us to manage our emotions in healthier ways. That's all we can do. And be gentle to ourselves, always

Hang in there, it will get better, you'll see

Hi all, This is my first post. I'm starting Stillman's today at 210. I have done this kind of diet in the past and had great results. Today I have had 3 eggs. We been outside working so haven't had lunch yet. I'll check back in tonight. Thanks, Liz

Izzy, thank you for everything! You're being very kind to me!
You're right. All I can do now is pick myself up and get back on the wagon. I'll keep you updated.

I'm sorry you've stalled. I'm sure it will pass soon. Hang in there!

Longstocking - I'm not shy. I just won't be on much during the week. I work long hours and I don't go online at work.

I'm doing really good today. My menu today B- 3 eggs, L- Taco turkey burger, D- Taco turkey burger and a cup of lettuce with spritzer. 30 min walk. I'm doing the 14 day shape up.

Keep up the good work everyone. Liz

Hi everyone. I am back on Stillmans starting today I am a little late for the first week in June but better late then ever. I am at 134 and hope to reach my goal weight of 120 sometime soon. Went running/walking today and ran to the beach and back 8.2 miles. Dinner time - grilled chicken!

hello everyone,

Hope everyone had a good day yesterday!

I had been stalled for two days and today I actually gained a pound. As far as I know my period is not due until next week so I can't really blame that, but who knows. However I will take my measurements today to see if there is any change there.

Longstocking: yay that is the attitude!

Longstocking,
Don't be so hard on yourself, of course its frustrating when you work so hard doing everything write and don't see the scale move at all! The same thing happened to me (stalled 3 weeks) and I binged, I'm mean SCARY binge for 5 days. I gained weight from it, but once I got back on the wagon, I lost what I gained and some in 3 days. I think my body and metabolism can do the all meat for too long or it goes into a stall. Since then I have been cycling and not a stall yet. Maybe this will work for you as well? Just don't give up and know those frustrations are valid! Hang in there

Actually, this is exactly what i'm thinking right now. I wanna try cycling stillman's with VLC (or atkins induction). I think that switching cals might help as well. And on the top of that I'm going to add some extra exercise and see what happens. Monotonous low-cal diets slow down metabolism and this is why we stall. So what you suggested is a great idea! Thanks! And good luck on new week!

agh,

OK at least I've lost 100 grams of the 800 that I went up for reasons that I still don't understand (could be water retention because of my period but as far as I know is too son to start with the water retention!!!)

but is nice to see the scale going down again even if is just a little bit.

Have a good day everyone,

Izzy

Hi Everyone.. my name is angie and I have been looking in on this site for a while and really haven't posted. I saw the Stillman's diet and became interested. I read most of the posts and have looked at the recipe link. I started on June 6th at 228lbs and as of today, I am down to 220lbs. That's a loss of 8lbs. Hurray!! I finally found something that I think is gonna work for me and am very excited about it. I love eggs, cottage cheese, chicken and fish, so this is right up my alley. I hope the losses continue. Just wanted to share that.

Angie, welcome to the board! I like your enthusiasm! Way to go!
It's great that you like the allowed foods. In that case weight loss is just a nice bonus!

Be aware though that first 10 lb or so are usually just water weight and the weight loss will probably slow down a little, but don't be discouraged by that. 0,5-1 lb per day is the average weight loss for stillamn's, although everybody is different and some lose weight very quickly, the others lose slower, but they still lose weight! Be patient!

I hope you stick around!
Good luck!

Day 3

Hi Guys,
Welcome angye and LoraJR72 I'm glade you came to join us. I had another good day with staying on plan. Do you guys mind that I post my menu. It's just nice to unwind on here before going to bed.
Menu:
B- 3 eggs
L- chicken breast and 1 cup lettuce with spritzer
D- 2 chicken breast
S- 1 C chicken broth, 1 jello
30 min walk on treadmill

angye- Wow 8 lbs 2 days. The first week is always the greatest loss. Keep up the great job. I only step on the scale once a week. I'll check my weight on Sunday. If I check it to often, I get upset if I don't see a loss.

dizzyizzy- You'll get through this.

longstocking - How are you doing today?

I guess it's time to get the kids to bed. See you all tomorrow! Good Luck everyone, Liz

aaagh....still stalled and I actually gained another 100 grams from yesterday =(

I woke up very, very tired today so I think my period is approaching, if that is the case then this could be just water retention. Then I'm also constipated so I am not surprised the scale is not moving.

Anyways, I'll try not to worry much about it until I get my period....

Hope everyone else is doing very well!!
