Stillman's Inches-Off Diet?
I've just started QWL diet and I'm already planning what to do after I get to my goal weight. Too optimistic, I know, I'm 30 lb from that, but I understand that it's impossible and not healthy to do QWL forever. So what after? I've read about Inches-Off diet. Sounds great, but I'm a little confused. It's practically zero protein. I get it. It should be that way because it's supposed to reduce your over all muscle mass. But even though this diet doesn't allow you too much sugar and refined carbs it's still high carb especially comparing to almost zero carb QWL. Basically almost 100 % of calories on this diet comes from carbs. It has CEREAL, COKIES, BREAD (in limited portions but still). And even if you eat only fruit and veggies - many of them are high glycemic...
![]() I'm afraid that after a while on an almost zero carb diet, I might rapidly gain a lot of weight, just by eating so many carbs, even if I keep my calories low. What do you think about it? Has anyone tried Inches-Off Diet? Last edited by longstocking; 05-26-2009 at 03:50 AM.. |

Hi Longstocking
I personally will do QWL probably for just another two weeks or so, and then move to Atkins induction until I reach my goal weight and slowly progress to the rest of the phases as is more balanced and manageable as a longterm lifestyle and it has worked very well for me in the past. I personally don't want to stay on zero carbs indefinitely, I just wanted to maximize the initial weight loss to keep me motivated at the beggining but in order to make this a lifestyle change I need to have less restrictions and more flexibility, within the low carb spectrum of course. I haven't tried the inches off Stillman but it doesn't look very appealing to me because of the bread and all the fruit, I get so much cravings whenever I eat fruit!! Maybe someone who has tried it can give us their feedback. |

It's up to you on what you want to eat. he just wants your total calorie to not go higher than what you are allowed. in the end it;s all about the calories! it says from the book "figure out daily menus to your taste" (pg 208). he also suggests you buy a calorie book.

I did both of these a long time ago and it works great. After you get to your goal, you go on inches off and that is supposed to pull out all the excess fats from in the muscles, I don't understnd but it does work.
