hello all,
Hope everybody is doing well. For some reason my losses have been very small the last couple of days =( Less than half a pound yesterday!! I don't know what is going on... especially because I am eating less than a thousand calories a day. Shouldn't I be losing more? Sassy, thanks for the advice, I will try to buy the magnesium milk today. Anyways, -9.7 pounds for me since I started Stillman last week. I am going for my second week now and after that I think I am moving to Atkins induction. Hope everybody had a good day. Izzy |

longstocking- i searched the book and there is a guide for staying slim. i guess you can look at the weight you want to be and go by that many calories or higher a little. for your weight right now to stay slim-it is 1600 so i would go lower than that if you want to lose. are you wanting to be 110 pounds? if so-i would eat 1300.

![]() 1300 actually sounds like a lot, I think i usually eat less than that. I think I'll start eating a little more from now on. I don't want my metabolism to get even slower than it already is. |

There is a rule of thumb, that your metabolism will not be effected by any noticeably amount unless you eat less than half of what you are supposed to consume.

Seems like everyone is doing really well so far. I'm not feeling this Stillman's QWL and I think I might throw in the towel, unfortunately. I'm not feeling hungry per se, but I'm BORED with the limited choice. And the constipation is not fun. I'm NEVER constipated, so this is new to me and sooo not fun... I feel gross. I haven't had any salad greens since starting QWL on Monday, but that's because I don't like low-fat dressing. My fridge is full of yummy Induction-friendly dressings and I just don't want to spend more money on yucky low-fat stuff... LOL! I dunno... maybe I'm trying to justify going back to Induction! It doesn't help that I've lost a measly 1 pound as of today. I also have my period.
But, don't get me wrong. I'm not being negative here. I'm just feeling like Stillman's is not for me. I think I'm an Atkins girl through and through! I am going to switch it up a bit and add a little more fat to my diet, but still watch calories and see if the scale moves a bit more. I'm over now at the 90 Day Challenge thread, if anyone is interested in joining. Keep it up, ladies! Good luck! |

This is a subject we don't like to talk about but is needed constipation, If you go and buy some enzymes from a health food market they help to soften things up a bit,
Maxi zymes, or something ike that just ask they willhelp you, they are not very expensive. Besides helping that way you get the enzymes that often are depleted with all the water we drink. |

dizzyizzy, I did the same thing and lost a good 1.6 lbs overnight! Yay for us!
As I mentioned above, I'm moving on from strict QWL to a combination of Induction/Stillman's. I'm having some fats, but not too much. At least until after next weekend *fingers crossed that I can still drop drown to 165 lbs by next Sunday* ToM is in full force (LOL!) and "things are moving" so I'm feeling the bloat lift away a bit. Happy Friday, everyone! |

Congrats Izzy! You're doing great! Don't worry about the weight loss slowing down. You said it yourself: the scale i moving - this is what matters!
I'm down another pound since yesterday! |

, but I'm not that good at recognizing true hunger, so I need to know exactly how much I should eat.I've read somewhere in the stillman's section, that in his book he actually advised not to go over 800 calories a day (!). I've heard before that most people on stilllman's eat around 600-1000 cals, so that kinda sounds realistic... Manal, you've read the book, right? Do you remember something about it? (Sorry again for being so annoying). |

Another question (please don't hate me). Does anyone have a problem with energy levels? I've been feeling very weak lately. Do you know what could help?
I've read in the Atkins '72 thread (zero-carb), that it's normal to feel weak if the weight loss is too rapid. Atkins suggested to eat more salt. Do you have any other ideas? I'm an uni student and it's finals. I need energy to study. But all i wanna do is sleep. I really don't wanna stop this diet. I love it! I love deep ketosis! Sorry, I'm rambling now... |

On a diet, can I really eat "as much as I want" of a food when it's permitted?
"As much as you want" means eating only as much of the food as will appease hunger, and then stopping-certainly not stuffing yourself. Is it neccessary to limit calorie intake to under 1,000 calories a day in order to lose weight? No-on some of my quick weight loss diets you can lose pounds rapidly yet eat 1,300 to 2,500 calories daily (depending on your height) of permitted foods. DO I count calories on the Inches-Off and other quick weight loss diets? No-by eating only the specified foods, your calorie intake is controlled "automatically", and there's no need to count calories. I have the most energy on this diet!

Hi longstocking
yeah actually I am feeling super weak today even that I slept my normal hours. I am also feeling very cold and just not hungry at all. Kinda forced myself this morning to eat two HB eggs (no yolks) and a cup of coffee. And right now I am having a diet coke to see if it helps me with my energy levels, as all I can think of right now is my warm and cosy bed! also my mind is foggy and I just can't get my head around all the many things I have to do. Anyways, reg. the weight loss, I am actually down only 100 grams (0.2 pound) but it doesn't surprise me because I had lots of cheese and tomato paste this weekend, which are not permited on Stillman. I also had a laxative so I guess is normal that if my body is rehidrating back I would gain a bit of water weight, so not too worried about that. I'll see how I feel in the next couple of days but if I see that I can't stick to clean Stillmans I guess it will be the sign for me to move to Atkins Inducton. Keep the good work everyone! |

longstocking, also I forgot to ask you, are you taking supplements?
I take a daily multivitaminic. Because of the restrictions we have in Stillmans we need to compensate with supplements. |

Good Morning Ladies!
I've been here a million times and haven't stuck to this. I've been able to do it in the past, but just haven't been able to do it for quite some time. Now, I'm at my heaviest that I've ever been. I was reading through the posts and someone had mentioned that you lose 10% of your body weight in the first week???? WOW!! That would be AWESOME!! That being said, I'll set that as my first goal, but I'll expect to come in a bit less than that. I'm at 246, so I'm thinking that I will probably not lose 24 pounds in a week!! Anyways, I'm here til I get the weight off.....I want to do this before my kids next school year....or at least have a good amount off! Thanks for listening!! 246.8 GW: 222.8

back darlahr. I did really well on Stillman's but am having a harder time just getting into the flow of things. My life has just been so crazy that my eating has been unfortunately my release. I have been working out to help with the stress but sometimes it is just too overwhelming. I was trying to remember how much Dr. Stillman said you could lose and I think it was pretty close to 10% the first week and then up to 5 pounds each week thereafter. Not every week would be that much, sometimes more sometimes less but it averages out to be about that much. I think the first time I did it I lost almost that much. I have yet to make it a full week yet without something getting in the way of my success, mostly myself. Like you I know it will work it just takes a strong desire to stick with the plan. Good luck to you and all others who are trying QWL!

ok well I did not lose 10% on my first week but I've l've lost a total of 13 pounds since I started on May 21st (down another pound since yesterday). However people have been telling me that is already very noticeable, I did not tell anyone that I was dieting so I guess they are telling me this because is truly showing!! I definitely can see how my tummy is getting flatter, and people commented that is very noticeable in my face. So I am really happy about that, getting compliments and positive feedback always helps!
The only thing is that yesterday I felt super weak the whole day, and I think it was due to dehydration. I too a laxative during the weekend and then I don't remember drinking enough water during the next two days, and then add that that I live in a very, VERY hot place (Middle East), literally the middle of the desert, so I need loads of water. So anyway, I am correcting that and I will also take on Longstockins' suggestion and take some potassium (thanks for the suggestion!!) ![]() Keep up the good work everyone!!! |
