Congrats Jordan on your loss.
![]() Sometimes on this diet you lose more one week than another but it averages out to about 5 lbs a week after that first big loss. Honestly, I quit looking at the .8,.2,.3, etc... on the scale cause it can drive you absolutely nuts . I just look at the big number. I am exercising and eating on plan (except for the past weekend ![]() to those who are struggling, I know this is a tough diet, but it can work. to those that stuck to plan over the weekend, you rock!

Hello,
I am sammy. I have done stillmans in the past with great success... I of course did not keep strict with th "if your weight goes up 3 lbs" part of the life time maintance. So I am starting today at 164.4 I am going to spin class this morning and will likely do some light weights and yoga tonight. Bk - 3 scrambled eggs with a small amount of salsa. lunch - boiled shrimp dinner - turkey breast. Jordan and Cat - after going back and forth about what to do to stop gaining and start losing again... your loses inspired me! |

I think it depends on what program of stillmans you are doing.... I have both the QWL and 14 quickweight loss books... Based on what I saw - the cheese, espeically artificial would are not allowed. He allows for pot cheese which would be similar to cottage cheese, and this was also a limited amount. Many people in the past have had dairy intolerances and this stalls them. Also I dont know of any of his diets that allow nuts. Which again this stalls many people (not on stillmans). I sometimes think more people are senstivie or have allergies to nuts and are unaware. These foods are so easy to eat and really can add to "carb creep" when you start adding them in. Stillmans also advocates leaner meats than beef bacon. For beef I would try to eat tenderloin, loin or leaner hamburger beef. Hope that helps. Sam Last edited by sammykay; 04-21-2009 at 06:11 PM.. |

Hey there, thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I really appreciate your taking the time to look at my ****** and offer me such good advice.
I have slipped with the nuts and cheese, and coffee with cream. I tried strict low and no fat with just turkey bacon, crabs, steak but I gave up. I don't know what to do really. I can't figure out which one will work best for me right now. Keeping my carbs and calories don't seem to matter at all. I'm eating too much protein to be on atkins and too much fat to be on stillmans. Maybe I will go to atkins since I love fat. |

Atkins -well the induction phase does not really allow for nuts. Either plan you do, I would eliminate those items for a couple of weeks and slowly add them back into your diet to see what they do for you. Have you lost any weight? How do you feel? Are you drinking enough water? Last edited by sammykay; 04-22-2009 at 12:47 AM.. Reason: clarifying |

I went nuts for the nuts...kinda like going
cucku for cocooa puffs. I knew that I shouldn't get those almonds.
But they looked so beautifu sitting there. Quickly my mind went...didid di da da and pulled up an article from AOL that says nuts can help one lose belly fat. Then my greed said, so really these almonds are good for you. ![]() No more nuts ![]() It's hard to know how much I have lost exactly because I was afraid to weigh myself. I didn't get on a scale until about a week ago and it said 245, then a few days later it said 240, then a few more days it said 245...today it says 240. I started the Smart Balance Peanut Butter challenge. Here Even though I was told it was bad, I lost inches on it really fast. Once I switched over to stillmans it was easy but I came to a screeching halt. Gained back...I'm going to measure right now. I hardly trust my measuring at the moment, because in being so desperate, I actually wonder if I'm squeezing too tight ha ha One sec...Started April 2nd Upper Arms:15.5 (was 17) Upper thighs:27.5 (was 29.75) Hips:48.5 (was 50) Waist:36.5 (was 38) I kinda miss doing it Smart Balance Peanut Butter style because it was cheap, simple and fast. But oh well, I have bad habits. I have gotten hooked on the weirdest things. I binge on water too! I have had stages where I only wanted one thing and will eat that for weeks alone. One time it was honey, one time it was almonds, one time it was cheese, one time it was pecans, one time it was yofarm yogurt, bananas, whipped cream. I would eat jars and jars of honey until it passed. Pounds of almonds, but strangest of all, I didn't gain. Really strange. I would only want that one thing. So it wasn't a diet, it was like a weird trigger went off in my head People were afraid that I would get diabetes or just die. Once I did fat fast (5days)and lost ZERO Pounds. I don't really like veggies. Love fat, but really felt strong enough to live without it (surprised). I only changed my mind because I felt like my weight loss was really slow. In fact since adding it my belly gets weak and it's time to "go". Weird, it even hurts. I never thought I could live low fat before, but it was easy. My body is supposed to get only 59.4 grams of protein a day (534 calories). So what else would I eat on stillmans to fill the gap? Wait a minute, peanut butter includes a nut, so I don't know why I lost. ![]() I used Truvia and now my sticks are light pink instead of dark purple. :-( |

It's 35 calories per slice, 2grams of protein and 2.5 grams of fat. By Gwaltney! |

I think it looks OK, except for the nuts. If you can't give up the coffee than just use limited heavy cream. I wouldn't worry too much about the meat and its fat content. I only eat bacon on the weekends, then look out
I eat cottage cheese and I think you would be okay with about 1/4 cup 3 times a day. I ate a slim jim and cheese last night and I am down two pounds today. If I don't eat any fat than I just feel too hollow. I exercise so I feel like I need the extra fat. I do try to stay away from any type of cheese except skim mozzarella cheese sticks. You really have to find out what works for you, where you are still losing weight but are still staying sane |

Hi all,
starting stillman's QWL tomorrow. I've been on atkins induction for about 2 weeks, saw pretty good results but the high fat intake was making me a bit sick. new to stillman's and i've been reading up on the threads and everyone's progress, and i'm really excited to get started. But i have a few questions. I plan on staying on stillman's QWL until i get either to my goal weight or extremely close to, then i'd like to do the inches off diet for 6 weeks. Has anyone gone from QWL to inches off this way before? if so how did it work for you? and i noticed that one of the allowed foods for inches off was oatmeal, can it be flavored oat meal does anyone know? (i absolutely LOVE rasin's and spice by quaker) any help would be awesome |

Hi, I'm back again. And I'm going back on Stillman's tomorrow. The high fat wasn't working for me - I also felt sick. I had less hunger while on Stillman's and I like the simplicity. I'll do it til the end of the week and then reevaluate.
Amanda, I only know QWL. As for the oatmeal - I'd avoid any flavoured things since that usually means added sugar... but if you check it in comparison with the regular oatmeal, and there isn't any difference with the sugar levels then I suppose it wouldn't be too bad. Maybe as a treat rather than a staple food. |

Welcome LadyPearl. What do you want to achieve while on stillman's and how long are you planning on doing it for? I want to be down to 215 lbs by Monday so I'm on it til then, if not longer.

food day at work yesterday. I was a very bad girl, so I did not weigh myself this morning. I did a huge cardio workout yesterday to try and counteract the pending scale jump. Back on track this morning and will not be partaking of the other birthday celebration that is happening in the office today. Hanging in my office and avoiding that whole area for the rest of the day. Staying strong until my birthday this coming Thursday! to those that are sticking with it. to us strugglers! |

Good work Jordan!
Cat, - just get straight back on plan today.Yesterday's three boiled eggs paid off and I'm down to 217.6 lbs today, which leads me to think that yesterday's 219.4 lbs was probably water weight or an anomaly. I'm just happy to be losing again! I plan to eat something along the lines of this today: 4 eggs 1 chicken breast 2 black coffees Protein: 61 grams: 45% Fat: 33 grams: 51% Carbs: 5 grams: 4% Calories: 577 |
