Cat - My mom's loving the eggs I'm giving her to make decorate eggs for Easter. It just takes forever to get the egg out when I crack a little hole at the bottom.

Hope I can stay on plan this weekend. I find the weekends are harder because I have more free time to graze and get bored sometimes. Plus, everyone wants to go out to eat. grrr!

I did really well yesterday, exercised and stayed on plan. It is my DH's birthday today, so we will see what happens. We are going to lunch, his choice.

I am horrible during the weekend too, it is the only time I miss work

Good luck everyone and have a great Easter.

hey everyone... welcome sherryz...cat, good luck through the birthday lunch, you can do it!!
Not sure what is going on... Tom came today BUT this morning I was down 4 pounds since Tuesday morning??????????? Not complaining at all... just really confused... Hope it sticks!!!

I am only claiming 3 of the 4 pounds just in case.... but that makes 41 pounds lost since 1/5/09!!!
Maybe this was God giving me incentive to stick it out through the holiday!!!

Good Morning!

Weight 204... crud

Moving to my carb loading cycle at noon so I won't post my menu.

I do stillman's sun-thu and do the opposite extreme Fri & Sat

I ride with a bunch of extremely fast racers on long rides on weekends (60 + miles)
and have to have the carbs to be competitive

Plus, like everyone above... weekends are pretty much impossible so I plan for it... destroy myself with exercise to clean it all out and start again

The longer you do this woe the more a "refeed" cycle is needed... it actually will break a stall.. the bottom line a meat and eggs woe like stillmans put's similiar stresses on the body to fasting... you have to let the bod know at least every ten days that everything is ok by getting some carbs in... if you can do it with veggies & brown rice yay... if you drop a dozen ho ho's you probably will not be happy with the extra work required the following week..

Enjoy your weekend everyone!

KSS~your doing great. Did you lose it all doing Stillmans?

Slatman~you've motivated me to get my bike out and start riding again. I can't imagine riding 60 miles!

Happy Easter to all.

Stats: 5'5" 167/167/140 (150 by May 7th)
WOE: Stillman's QWL
Start Date: 13 April 2009
Hello Everyone,

It's been a very long time since I've been on this site. I have had a lot of success with the QWL in the past and I decided I am ready to start again... on Monday. I have to go shopping and get the right foods, and I probably won't have a chance to do that until tomorrow.

I told myself a a few weeks ago that I wanted to lose 25 pounds by May 7th... but I fell off of my diet and exercise regime in less than 2 weeks. I now have 26 days until my goal date, and while I know it's unlikely I will lose the 25, I am hoping to lose at least 15 by then. I graduate from school on the 7th, and my family will be here on the 5th... and I really want to look better (and by better, I mean good ) when they get here. That and I'm tired of wearing the same couple of pairs of jeans because none of the other ones fit me.

It's going to be a very difficult and boring 3.5 weeks though... I am in the military and live in barracks with no kitchen. I do have a hot plate, convection oven and microwave though, so it'll be interesting to see what I can do as far as recipes go.

I'm about 167 now... I'd like to get down to 140-145ish... 150 by graduation would be fantastic. See you guys again on Monday!

*Edited to say: I really think I want to up my May 7th goal to 20 pounds. Do you guys think it's at all possible? I exercise at least 4 times weekly (with the military) but I am going to start to do workouts on my own after class as well. I figure workouts 2x daily at least 5 days a week. And with the Army I run about 8 miles a week... but I think I want to up that on my own as well. I'm gonna say 12-15 miles a week, plus I want to start weight lifting to help speed up the process. Am I being a total dreamer to say 20 pounds in just over 3 weeks? Oh... I also take a diet supplement and something to help me "go." The something to help me "go" has nothing to do with dieting though, it has to do with my own stomach problems, so I don't want you guys thinking I do it to take my diet to an extreme

Hi Jeez! Seems like we have about the same stats. I'm around 167 too. You can definitely lose a lot by May if you stick with it! Good luck!!!

Jordan,

The plan is stickied on the main stillmans page or you can look at the first post of this thread.

Bottom line for new folks... keep it simple with eggs, fish, chicken, and beef.
Do it for ten days.. take two days off with induction or regular atkins.... repeat...
DON'T skip the water you WILL fail

If you have the strength to do it 30 days straight you will be a losing machine.. I've done it.. it's hard as hell and you really lose too fast and you will regain some ... steady with a PLAN is the way to go..

Exercise is critical to change your life. It is difficult to get going but find something you like try everything something will stick and do it!!

Think I'm finally losing my appetite. Ate lots of meat over the weekend, but still managed to lose a pound. I always have a hard time remembering to drink my water over the weekends. Hoping this week is much easier.

Day 4-195.8

Yesterday

B-eggs
L-chicken
D-beef

Exercise-walked 5 miles a.m and 2 miles p.m. I can never get out of bed to exercise on Monday mornings so will have to do it tonight.

Hope everyone survived the weekend. I did not, so a bunch of pounds arrived on my scale this morning. I still did my workout, but my food choices were not the best. Between my DH's Birthday and Easter, I blew it big time.

I am back on plan today and will go as many days as possible then take an Atkins break as Slatman suggested. I am going on vacation the beginning of June and refuse to take all this extra "me" along.

Hope everyone who fell off the wagon recently is back on and getting going!

Good luck everyone! I believe in you! you can do it!

Day 1

Ok, so my official stats for today, day 1:

Weight- 167
Waist- 29
Hips- 41.5
Thigh-25

Ran about 4 miles (guesstimating here, we didn't run our usual route) in about 40 minutes. I had a hard boiled egg before I went running, and I'll probably have 1 or 2 more before I head to class. After school I'll go to the gym and get in some more cardio and some weights.

I'll post again later. Have a good day everyone!

Its 10:41 am and I've started my diet. So far 2 boiled eggs, 32 oz of water, and lots of trips to the bathroom.

One question, how essential are the eggs? I know i wont do the cheese but are eggs essential everyday?

Today's my first day! So far I've had three scrambled eggs and one hard-boiled egg for a snack. Lunch will be tuna, then another hard-boiled egg, then chicken and more scrambled eggs for dinner. Exciting, huh? But for me, less variety = more weight loss.

Slatman, thanks for the suggestions... I am definitely gonna do 10 days QWL, then 2 days QWL + veggies and maybe some brown rice... Then repeat. Sounds like a good plan to me.

Also going to start P90X tonight, which may kill me. I'm just going to do my best.

Ok, I have two hours until lunch and I'm starving. I have had 3 hard boiled eggs so far today, and I'm sure I should've eaten more but I didn't have time to prepare much before class... I brought some pork roast stuff for lunch, and a mozzerella string cheese and one more hard boiled egg but it's gonna be rough!

How long does it usually take for your body to get used to this? It's been so long since I've done this diet that I don't really remember. It's about 2 days until ketosis kicks in, right? Oh, and one more thing I don't remember- is Splenda allowed?

May I join you all? I've done Stillmans in the past and have been successful at it. I lost 15 pounds in 15 days a few years ago. I find it very easy to stay on once I get started - it's just the getting started part that's so dang hard! My short term goal is to weigh 165 by Memorial Day Weekend. Today's weight: 188.5 Blagh!
