~*Stillman's March 2009 QWL Get 'Er Done!*~

Guess I will get the March thread going.
So the 3 pound loss stuck plus an additional pound so I am down 4 pounds this week for a total of 28 pounds since 1/5/09.
How is everyone else doing?

Well Yippee for you! That is so great! I would like to jump in and git er done too if you don't mind! I have been dooing a lot of reading on stillman's and really need to QWL that it may provide. I had great luck on Atkins 4 years ago, but this time around, not so much. I think I lost my golden shot, so this may kick it up a notch for me. Any way, I am in it for the next 21 days!
March is a great time to start thinking about those cute spring clothes!

Thanks KSS!
Did you have a great stillman's day?????
I work at the Pentagon, and I was surprised how many choices I had to choose from. Some days I take ,but on lazy days it is nice to know they have roasted chicken that is just plain.
I did fine today, but the first week is always pretty easy at anything!

Hello,
Well, for the first week, I've lost 7 lbs and am pleased. My diet is based on Stillman's but a bit modified, meaning I know what other types of things I can personally eat that won't throw off the diet (certain meats & cheese particularly (sp?). The weight comes off slower but I'm less likely to cheat or go off the diet.

All in all it's nice to feel a bit slimmer again and clothes don't fit as tight.

Everyone else keep up the good work! I'll check in later in the week if I have time.

Hey guys! Can I join? I started stillmans QWL a week ago today, and so far have just taken off 3 pounds...though i'd been lowcarbing (atkins) for days prior, so I think i'd already lost water weight. Anyhow, though I weight the same I did yesterday, I swear my pants are looser.

I'd love to keep up with this as I swear i think i look thinner. I'm trying to get in more calories today (about 11-1200 if i can) b/c I noticed the scale hasn't moved since I got down to 900-1000 calories. You guys agree? It's amazing how hungry I was at first, and thinking "if only i could eat just 1100 calories" when now I'm trying to FIND ways to eat at least 1000!!!

juji... welcome aboard!

I have been doing well but on Tuesday found out that I had to fly back out to California the very next day. So here I am back i Cali for 4 days and hoping again that I will find no problems sticking to the plan and have a loss this week. I am sooo close to the 30 pound club... wish me luck!!!

Thanks KSS!!!

So good news - down 2 more pounds since I posted. YAY!

One question though, as next weekend I have dinner plans at a restaurant I've been dying to go for a long time...Do you think that straying one night will do much? I'm not talking about cake and french fries, of course, and I was planning on asking for things without sugar if possible, but if it comes down to it I do want to taste the menu as the chef intended. I know it will knock me out of ketosis...but if I get right back on the next day will it have that big of an impact? I know from doing Atkins that that was usually the case, I'm just not sure how different this is....

sometimes it is not so bad and sometimes it takes longer then you think. You just have to decide how you will feel if it sets you back and if you are ok with it then go for it. if you will be too upset then it might not be worth it.

So I finally got a chance to get back here... I am down 3 pounds this week.. which I am happy with since I was out of town traveling for 5 of those days. Just proof that you can stick to it while traveling. That is 31 pounds lost since 1/5/09

Hey everyone!

I got back on track yesterday and was down 4 pounds this morning. All water but who cares. I went to Target today and bought a bathing suit. Nothing like a little incentive to get the butt in gear. I am heading on vacation on June 5th so I need to get this body in better shape.

Yesterday:
I had 2 eggs w/ cottage cheese for breakfast. Roasted chicken lunchmeat wrapped around a lowfat mozzarella cheese stick with a little mustard and some more cottage cheese and a SF Jell-O. Dinner was two pieces of grilled chicken. I didn't drink enough water, but all sorts of other diet beverages.

Today, I missed breakfast for some reason and ended up having the same thing for lunch today as I did yesterday. I have to go grocery shopping tonight so maybe I can get my hands on a good steak for dinner.

Congrats to all the losers! You Rock!
HUGS to the strugglers, don't give up you can do it.

What do you guys think about the low carb yogurt? anyone ever tried it with or without success? I have done QWL and tend to get bored with the same stuff day in and day out.

Down another pound today so excited! I have been doing really well this time, of course it is only day 3. I had two eggs with cheese and 2 sausage links so far today.
The only thing I haven't done is exercise as much as I would like. I just don't have enough energy between dieting, school, kids, work, etc.... As long as the weight keeps coming off that is all that matters.

Hope everyone has a great day!

I only weigh in once a week on Monday mornings... so we will see. TOM showed up last night so that could possibly have a negative impact on my loss this week, but I hope not.

I was doing so well with exercise. I was up to 50 minutes a day on the treadmill at 3.5 mph and a 3-4 incline. I had 2 trips to California in the last 2 weeks which totally got me off track with walking (but I did stick to woe). I know I need to get back to the walking... maybe in a day or two when the worst of TOM is over.

I weigh everyday only for the motivation I find that it gives me, but not everyone can. It can sure make you crazy .
I am down another pound today which is nice, but the weekend is here and that can spell trouble.

I ate chicken, a low-fat cheese stick, cottage cheese and a S/F Jell-O for lunch. For dinner I had a lowcarb yogurt and two all beef hotdogs.

I am going to try and stay on track and not weigh probably until Sunday or Monday, depending on how I do.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Ok, jumping on bandwagon..to shake things up. Last time I did Stillmans, I lost 6.5lbs overnight!! And I wasn't carbed up..was on induction. Needing to drop at least 15lbs in 8wks and I know it's doable doing this.

I snuck on the scale today and I am down 3 pounds so far this week and my official weigh in day is still 2 days away so I am not going to count it yet but I am very excited since TOM is here I was not really expecting a loss

I eat a very very boring diet most of the time... or I should say a lot of the same stuff over and over.
typical day would be
B - 2 hard boiled eggs
L - 3-4 ounces thin boneless pork chops or chicken
D - 4-6 ounces hamburger patties 1 cup of cabbage

i hardly ever have snacks and sometimes will have an atkins shake in place of a meal and sometimes I do have a salad. I usually am well under 10 carbs a day

Hi everyone, I'm gonna jump on board with ya if you don't mind. I am totally discusted with myself! I did Atkins/stillmans about 5 years ago and lost 100 pounds! A couple kids later and just totally slacking off I guess, here I am starting all over and then some! I'm actually 40 pounds more than my starting weight then! But I know this works! And I'm ready to get back in my boxes, and boxes of "skinny cloths" I love all the support here, I couldn't have done it last time without jumping on here whenever I needed an encoueaging word. So here goes!

Hey All! I'm still here and doing good. I've lost about 10 pounds since starting and am THRILLED. Anyhow, i've noticed that I definitely stop losing when my calories dip below 1,000, so I'm trying to keep them in the 1200-1300 range. I've noticed that lean steak and eggs for lunch or breakfast tends to help me lose. yay!
