Cycling QWL diet

Hi,

I have about 90 pounds to lose and I'm going to begin the QWL diet tomorrow (2/28). Many of you seem to have success cycling the diet with an Atkins type diet. I was thinking about cycling 10 days of the QWL with 2 days of regular low-cal eating (veggies, fruits, yogurt, and maybe a Lean Cuisine). Has anyone here tried that? I want the fastness of the QWL diet, and if I had 2 day break to look forward to I would fell much less anxious while on the diet. Since I have so much to lose, I think I'll go crazy I don't break it up! I just don't want to undo all the weight loss of the 10 days in 2.

So.... if anyone's tried this I would love to hear about it. Also, if anyone has any advice that would be awesome too.

Thanks!

I think that would work fine as long as long as you still keep carbs low on your atkins days

There lies the rub. Adding carbs can be a slippery slope. I do much better sticking solely with Stillman because, 1) it DEFIINITELY works dramatically, and 2) is less flexible. I use sugar-free jello as a "carb" breakout.

Good luck,

True, adding carbs seems like a bad idea. I know this diet works FAST, but is it really safe for long term. Is it really safe for more than a couple of weeks?

Also, has anyone done the QWL diet to the letter (basically no fat meat and eggs) for a extended period? I did it for 9 days once a few years ago (when I had much less weight to lose) and lost 10 pounds. It was amazing, every day I'd lose more weight and I could tell a difference in the mirror right away. I just got sooooo sick of eating basically nothing but chicken and eggs.

So.... anyone out there...... could you hang with this diet?

In the last analysis, we each have to choose a plan which we can execute for the long haul. If a Stillman's/Atkins combo allows you to go the distance, then I'd go for it. On Stillman, you CAN have eggs. I'm on my 3rd week and have an occasional omlette. I vary my meats, but mostly eat turkey. I enjoy a variety of fresh fish choices as well.

Good Luck,
