Happy New Year! I'm new here and so excited about starting the new year on the right foot. I made so many excuses last year, started and stopped so many times and this year am determined to be successful. I know that I can do this and want to be surrounded by people that have the same goals as me. Started off an hour ago, just woke up but started right with some broiled chicken. I won't be weighing myself every day, once a week I think will do me just fine. Don't want to get caught up in the numbers........Good luck every one!

Denise...thanks for starting the thread!
I'm doing the QWL for the next two weeks hoping to lose a bit!
Milanoi...This is the diet that works for me. I wish you much success in this new year.

I'm starting off with
3 hard boiled eggs
3 light string cheese (not technically legal but was at the store and starving!)
1/2 cup cottage cheese
Planning on one cola BBQ chicken breast tonite and SF jello for dessert

Hi everyone! Happy New Year!

Just finished 3 days of the egg rep diet and am down about 6lbs!

This morning I spiced up breakfast a bit...
2 fried eggs
couple drops of hot sauce
sprinkled with about 1-2oz cheddar cheese
Lots of water of course

Been doing a lot of reading on the Egg Fast threads. Thinking about incorporating a few things I've learned there in with my egg reps.

Going to focus on keeping eggs the #1 food. So high protein and super low carbs!

Once I get tired of that I will switch to QWL, as I know that works great for me!

Have a great day!!

Eggs have been my #1 food for a couple years now..especially hard boiled. I've lost a total of 102 pounds.
Yesterday I ended up having about 1,300 calories of my proteins. No loss yet but I wasn't off plan before I started....213 1/2...this A.M.
There's some good recipes on the egg diet thread that can be adapted slightly to Stillman's by using skim cottage cheese instead of cream...etc. I was doing a custard with skim milk before I went QWL. I'm thinking of doing it with skim cottage cheese instead and see how it comes out. Anyway the recipe I was using was this:
4 eggs
1/2 cup skim milk
1/2 cup diVinci's
1/2 t. vanilla extract
1 T. cinnamon
1 cup splenda granular

Whisk well and add to a Pam sprayed casserole and bake at 350 for 45 minutes
Pretty good.
Like I said I'm gonna try it with cottage cheese instead of the skim milk...probably next week. It's very filling and sweet.
I also make the Atkins rolls using fat free cream cheese instead of full fat

New Year, Fresh Start

Hi all! I was here with some success early last year, but fell off the wagon after my dad had a stroke. You would think that would motivate me more, but I am a stress eater, and have put back what I lost. Anyway, he is doing great now and I am ready for a fresh start. I will be altering between Stillmans and an Atkins type approach just so I can incorporate more salads, and veggies, etc. I'm looking forward to feeling healthy and fit. I will also be trying to make the gym regularly as well.

Happy New Year.

Day 2

Thanks Meg056 for the welcome! You have lost so much weight and have so much to be proud of! Excited to do the same and put in the work!

Doing great today, had more chicken yesterday and a couple of hard boiled eggs. Walked for an hour or so to get some exercise and some air. Had some more boiled eggs this morning and some green tea. I'm not a big tea drinker but am slowly getting used to the taste and it's good for me! Planning to drink a couple of cups a day.

ShelbyS we can do this!! This is the year!! Keep strong everyone.........

Way to go on your loss! That is awesome and inspirational

I know that what works for me is high protein, low-carb, low-fat. I really have to watch cheeses, creams and such. Bummer, because eating low-carb is so much more enjoyable with those yummy fats

I will have to try that custard recipe...sounds tasty.

Hi milanoi and ShelbyS!!!

Last night I tried the Chocolate Eggs Not my thing...I might give it one more shot just to make sure it wasn't a cooking error on my part.

This morning I tried this pumpkin shake (I reduced the amount of cream and used a "lite" version):
http://www.lowcarbfriends.com/bbs/ma...l#post10989710

It was pretty good, but I could only drink about 1/2. I just kept thinking about all that cream

Going strictly eggs for the rest of the day.

Down another lb this am That I probably gained back drinking that pumpkin shake

Here's to another great day!!

Hey Alison....chocolate eggs?? You are braver than I am....when I first read it I was thinking of those chocolate easter eggs, but then remembered that real eggs are a staple on stillman's!!

So today started off great, but my slightly sore throat and runny nose developed into a full blown cold with all the aches and pains that come with it. I feel terrible and almost used it as an excuse to eat something that I shouldn't but it was all psychological. I'm used to eating to "heal" something, be it emotional or physical, but I wasn't hungry at all!! So I listened to my body and even though I'm still feeling lousy, I feel great about sticking to it.......So I'm going to try and get an extra couple of hours sleep for once!

Great job staying on plan milanoi!! I hope you get feeling better soon!

Here is the recipe for chocolate eggs

2 large eggs
2 TB unsweetened cocoa
2 packets Truvia or stevia
1/4 teaspoon vanilla

In a large glass measuring cup or mug, whisk all the ingredients together until very, very incorporated and smooth. Micro uncovered on HI for 1 minute 30 seconds. Flip over and if the bottom is not done, micro 10-15 seconds. Eat warm.

I wish it tasted like the chocolate Easter eggs!

Shelby,
I am in the same boat as you...did well last year (lost 20 pounds) and have gained it all back gorging on carbs of any type! I feel like crap and am ready to get healthy again! Caught a glimpse of my behind getting into the shower...NOT a pretty sight!

I am trying to do strict Stillmans for at least five days! Wish me luck!

Good luck Katie...You can do it and Stillman's QWL rocks for losing weight!
Good to see you ShelbyS!
Denise..Alison..I hope you like that custard. I used babana flavor DaVinci's one time...pretty good with the cinnamon. I also used cookie dough which is my absolute favorite DaVinci's. If you cook it in a water bath it will probably come out better but I just shove it in the oven! It can get a little eggy at the edges but custardy in the middle.

I'm down to 212.5...a whole pound in two days. I wasn't carbed up when I started so I think most of this is a real loss. I'll keep going!

Day 3

Good Luck Katie!!

Thanks Alison! Feeling a little better today! Still have this nasty cold and I'm really not very hungry, forced myself to have 2 boiled eggs for breakfast, and some grilled chicken for lunch. Also had some chicken broth a couple of minutes ago, makes me feel nice and warm inside and its nice to have something hot other than tea........ Still going strong though. Also fighting to stay off the scale and wait another couple of days.....hope it's working! I'm going back to bed....

Thanks for starting the January thread! I started QWL on Thursday and, so far, have managed not to screw it up too immensely.

[Obviously, as you can see by my non-existent post count, I'm new here, but after joining about a week ago, I've read practically every post on this board and just want to let you know how inspiring y'all are and how much I'm looking forward to having this support system.]

milanoi...Broth will get you better quick! I have broth often with some egg or meat.

We all are rocking January with Stillman's.

I weighed 211.5 this morning..down 2 pounds in 4 days. Really good for me. I'm psyched.

Day 4

Hi Everyone!! I continue to be inspired by all and encouraged to keep going, especially knowing that it has worked for people before who are willing to try again! Keep up all the good work! I am feeling much better today, got my voice back and not so much of a cold left. I had two boiled eggs for breakfast and some lean ground turkey for lunch..... still drinking lots of low sodium chicken broth....Not really hungry even though I was hungry in the middle of the night.....

Still not weighing myself but can see a slight difference in my face, weighing in once a week and fighting not to get on that scale, will let you know how that goes..

Happy Sunday everyone!

Slow Start, but ready to go!

Well, I'm a teacher and have been on break, which makes it hard to stick to anything. But, I go back tomorrow and am glad since I know that it will be easier for me to stick to Stillmans and Low Carb overall. I'm looking forward to the journey with you all and know we can do it. I'll keep you updated and look forward to seeing you succeed as well!

Have a good night all!

I'm on day 3 of Stillman's QWL! Yesterday I had that dang headache, but today I feel better. I did a lot of food prep for the week yesterday...pork loin, cola chicken, HB eggs and some ground turkey patties. My DH is also doing it, so I made him some lamb... I haven't weighed in, going to wait a couple more days. I'm not a teacher, but have had a lot of time off and way too much junk food around. Glad to be back at work today and glad I had the willpower to throw out a lot of really bad-for-you food!

I just began Stillman QWL diet today. I've been low-carbing doing South Beach for the last month or so. I'm a carbaholic and know that is the culprit for lack of weight loss. Glad to be joining you on this journey.

I am back as well. Can't beat QWL for weight loss. I am up to 132 from my lowest of 124. I think I have been eating since Thanksgiving...I will actually be starting tomorrow, I need to go get a few supplies. I have started exercising again which should motivate me. Good luck to everyone!

Day 5

Woke up this morning feeling so hungry.... I had 2 boiled eggs and some lean grilled steak for lunch. I am craving something sweet though, I'm not hungry but want to taste something different. I think if I was doing Atkins right now I would be content with a salad but I'm keeping to QWL for as long as I can. I know its not on the list but are you allowed to have sugar free jello or gum??? Some one please let me know, I was so tempted but didn't want to eat anything that might throw me off track... otherwise just hanging in there...oh and my cold is finally on the way out...Thank God! Keep up the good work everyone!
