Never made it to the store yesterday but I have some meatballs in the freezer here at work for lunch and I can stop for the cottage cheese on my home from work. I am also thinking turkey bacon and some sliced meat of some sort. I am craving chicken for some reason, so I might pick some up tonight as well and either bake it or grill it.

I think you can have SF Jell-o, I have it when I need something sweet just not too often. I must warn you though, that little cup sometimes just isn't enough .

Take care all.

I make the SF jello. Sometimes one package, sometimes two packages...but generally only eat one package max a day...equal to four little cups. It doesn't effect my weight loss. I also have been known to have a few SF hard candies. I save them for nitetime if I get a dry throat or need a sweet. What does stall me is eating too much or off plan. Last nite I ate regular cheese. Bad move but I'm moving on today and eating lighter than usual. I'm making the cola BBQ chicken today which will last me a few meals. That's a nice change of pace for me.
Have a great Stillman day!

Day 6

Hi everyone!! Thanks for all the responses, Meg056, Cat430, sassymanal...... I feel so much better I had one cup for breakfast....phewww!! I feel like I've gotten into a groove with everything and have started going to the gym to get some cardio in now that I feel like I can manage the eating part of it all. I actually felt really good, keeping my water consumption up too! I feel so encouraged and actually feel like I can keep on track knowing that I am not alone and surrounded by people who are working towards their goals and supporting each other along the way. Thank you all so much!!

Hey...we ALL need the support on this plan! It is tough! I was at a lunch meeting yesterday catered by Panerra's. I did eat just a small amt. of salad, but took a sandwich and ate ONLY the turkey from it. I managed to resist the french bread and cookies! Yay me!

It seems like it is harder this time around becasue i'm hunrgy. You think ketosis hasn't kicked in yet? I think today is the 4th day. It doesn't help that i have been looking at recipes and yummy pics of them! I am still on plan though. I just have to keep telling myself that this will pass.

Everyone is doing great!

Hi all well i jumped on the scale this morning and down 10 pounds yay me . well I know its water weight but ill take it just that much closer to gettin to the fat lol .

sassy~it does get harder when u go off plan well at least for me it does takes me a min to get back into the groove of things, I do much better if i transition back into strict induction of atkins, cuz in all honestly i can live with atkins but for some reason ill go off totally then it takes me a few tries to get back on the wagon, so hang in there and no ur not the only one Im right there with ya like many others. I will say this tho over a year ago i got rid of all stretchy pants and all i wearr are jeans cuz they are my gadge they dont forgive so easily and kinda help u get back on so ur not miserable wearing em,just wat i found that works for me or at least helps me not go so long . good luck all

congrates to all of you so far looks like we all trying to get our health in controll this new year!!!!!! yay us

Got hungry and ate some eggs at 2 A.M. That doesn't happen to me often but it won't make me gain. I do eat less for the day if I don't start eating too early in the morning and that was too early! Still on plan though and this is day 7. Seven more days after today and then I get veggies! Yay!

Stay strong my Stillman friends!

I'm starting day 3 and oddly I woke up thinking "I am not hungry". For me I know ketosis has a whole bunch to do with it. It just takes that hunger away of ravenging through the kitchen trying to get my hands on something/anything to eat. When I did Atkins water was such a key then to having that "full" feeling and this time I am sticking to water only for drinking - anything else seems to start cravings.

You're right "it will pass" and you will be on the other side of it in no time!!

Tina - wooohooo for a great weight loss!!! It is such a big motivator! I'm gonna weigh on Friday and had to ask my husband to hide our scale in the attic in order to not have stepped on it today!!

Day 7

YAY!!!!! I made it through a whole week. Congratulations everyone for making it to whatever day you are on!!! I am so excited, I was going to weigh myself today BUT decided to do it on the same day each week, so I started on the first and so Thursday will be my weigh in day from week to week. I can see slight changes, but more than that today I feel really good. My cold is completely gone, all those nasty symptons, headaches etc are gone.....

On a side note, don't know how many of you watch The Biggest Loser, but I do and love it!! The new season started yesterday and you know how the theme song has the words "what have you done today to make you feel proud?" and for the first time in a long time, I was able to say "a lot" and smile....You should all be proud of yourselves and keep going, this year is the year for a new you!!!

Everyone is doing so well!! Yay Stillman Eaters!!

Still going strong here. Did the egg rep for the last 2 days and am eating QWL for the rest of the week.

Anyone have any other suggestions for sweet cravings? I cannot stand Jello

I do have a sugar free candy on occasion, but wondering if there are any other "more legal" ideas

Does anyone use l-glutamine?

Have a great day!

Great job everyone!!!!! I'm not hungry now becasue i drank so much water, lol. I'm not going to look at any recipes today. I'm getting my computer fixed so i will check in from the blackberry or somewhere else.

orteggleston- I have never tried l-glutamine but you can try sugar free 0cal drinks. I have the value kind but there is crystal lite as well.

milanoi- When does the biggest loser come on?

Beginning Day 4 of Stillmans's QWL and realizing how important it is to keep the food tasting as good as it can. The repetition of the same foods can start getting boring I'm sure. I'm finding that I cannot just eat hardboiled eggs everytime I eat eggs but I need to scrambled those egss and mix in some meat, make an omelet, etc. to just keep changing up the flavor. I added some cottage cheese to my omelet yesterday with some meat and just that little bit of cottage cheese took the dry taste away from the omelet and gave it a different flavor.

One thing I do each day is plan my food for the next day the night before so that I KNOW what I am eating the next day. And water is still key for me to not get the hunger pangs throughout the day.

Yes it does get a little boring eating Stillman's way unless you try some of the recipes and use your imagination. Last nite I had two different flavors of SF jello...lemon and strawberry kiwi together with a 1/2 cup of splenda sweetened cottage cheese..not bad. I have more left for tonite and so on. I do find the most filling way to eat eggs is hard boilled and made into an egg salad...using mustard, reduced fat bacon bits (just a little), a little cottage cheese, and Nosalt..also a little paprika.
I've been eating like a queen maybe 1,500 calories a day average and I'm still down 2 1/2 pounds in a week on QWL. Will do aother week before adding in veggies.
Have a great day!

Day 8

Good Morning Everyone! I slept really well lat night and woke up to the scale, I weighed in 10lbs less than I did last week. I feel so much better than I did then, I have so much energy and feel really good in general.

sassymanal - The Biggest Loser comes on Tuesday night at 8pm ET

magickal1 - You are so right! Did you see Bob and Jillians faces as they were weighing in??? I think its a good thing though because it encourages people who think that they are too big to do anything about their weight.

Can't wait for the weekend!!

Hi Magickal-

I began Stillman's QWL plan this Monday and my TOM came yesterday so I'm a bit nervous about the scale too. I'm wondering if maybe staying off the scale over the next week is a good plan for you and not let the scale be the ONLY measurement of how you are doing. If I get on the scale too often when I am dieting it tends to sabatoge me rather than sustain me. Maybe there is another measurement you can use during this time??? Maybe just realizing how great you feel in good enough???? I believe water intake is EVERYTHING with this type of eating.

Ate off plan. I'm going to the 14 day shape up for awhile. I miss the veggies and they may help me keep the calories down. I show no loss for this week which is better than showing a gain. All is not lost! I shall carryon forever if necesary!

well after today i will not get on the scale and weigh next week but i showed a 3 pound loss i musta a been really carbed up so that a total of 13 i always drop 20 really quick after a long carb fest which the holidays were for me , i always wanna cheat when tom is here too grrrr but i made it thru last nite and was rewarded on the scale this morning , i never lose during tom this is the first time , so im glad its going down , I did increase water thanks for all the suggestions. I hope everyone is doing well

meg~good attitude chica thats right get back on i seen u were doing 2 weeks stillmans qwl i do 10 on 2 off and seems to really work all i usually add in on the 2 days off is brocolli our a small salad with meat of course if i do gain its like 1 pound but then it evens out and i see a bigger loss in the next 10 days on , just a suggestion food for thought as i like to say , but over the years i have noticed if im craving something id rather add the veggies then the other stuff so good luck girl im cheering for u all

oh and another thing i am trying ~ eating more ground turkey and i tried that jenno turkey ham yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm and so easy to cut a thin piece and fry on the pan love it and really satisfys me quickly, so plan for the year is turkey fish chicken and very lil beef , ive seen ppl lose much more the lower the fat in the meat so i giving it a try even tho i love a steak , but i really dont stall as much if i do 10 on and 2 off like a mix up helps it get back to losing better , just my 2 cents ill check in with u all later

Magickal...you are doing fantastic and good advice! I do fine unless I get into an eating frenzy and it's not out of hunger but some type of stress induced eating, I think. So if I have some crunchy veggies to eat instead of say peanuts I might do better on the calories. Veggies help fill me up,too and if I'm full it's harder to overeat.

Beginning Day 5 and really enjoying what I am eating even though the variety of food on the QWL isn't as much as I am used to. I'm doing this plan for 14 days and then adding in a few more things to keep variety. I decided not to weigh in until day 10 --- IF I can last until then.

MagicKal --- what great weight loss for you! I agree about the lower fat meats. My body seems to get sluggish with too much red meat or more than once a week for me.

Today's goal is water, water, and some more water.

Day 6 (or maybe 7)??

Weighed for the first time today and am down 7 pounds! Yay me! I am really sick of this plan, though. I think I am switching over to Atkins induction for the weekend. I had a little mayo with my meat for lunch and thought I was heaven! Tried something new the other night...browned very lean ground sirloin and threw in some low carb catsup and Franks sauce...it was really tasty!
