New to this Diet!!!! Please check my menu??? Imput apreciated

I eat this exact diet everyday. I'm a male and weigh approximatly 235lbs and am 6'3" tall. I'm a larger guy and used to play college football. A typical workout week for me is 3 days on 1 day off, workign out two major muscle groups, for about an hour with heavy/intense weight training.

I then follow my weight training with a session of cardio lasting anywhere from 20 min to 30 min on the treatmill. I like to vary my workouts between HIIT (interval training) and slow long distance running.

Like I said before, I rarely change my diet. And when I do cheat, I cheat with McDonald's Cheeseburgers (minus the bun and condiments)

--------------------------------------------------------------
BREAKFAST (7:30am)

(3) eggs scrambled
(1) protein shake (2 g of carbs and 3 g of fiber)

SNACK (10:30am)

(1) pouch of tuna fish

LUNCH (1:00pm)

(4) boneless/skinless chicken tenders
Spinch Salad Greens

SNACK (3:30 pm)

(1) pouch of tuna fish
(1) protein shake

DINNER (7:00 pm)

(12 oz.) Salmon
(8 oz.) Shrimp
Spinich Salad Greens

SNACK (10:30 pm)

(2) Boneless/Skinless Chicken Tenders

BREAKDOWN OF DIET

1,700 --- Calories
15g --- Carbs
8g --- Fiber (non-impact/digestable)
325g --- Protein

My question is this:

Is this diet good??

You posted this in the Stillman's forum, so I thought I'd ask, are you doing Atkins? That's what your menu looks like. If you're on Atkins, your menu seems a bit skimpy on vegetables. If you're doing Stillman's, shakes and vegetables are not allowed.

Actually Stillmans 14 day plan allows for veggies--not to confuse you even more!
I think your menu looks great-and if it works for you, even better.

I have only been on Stillmans for a couple of weeks. I eat greens every day -if I didnt I would be constipated badly. Plus, I dont see how greens could interfere with weight loss quite honestly. If someone knows something I don't here-please tell me!!

Lol no wife and no girlfriend... too busy! I've def lost weight, but I'm also concerned that I don't wanna lose muscle mass. I've noticed when I eat more fat, (like ground beef) my ketone sticks become a deeper purple, and when I eat low fat, (like fish and chicken), I'm at trace amounts if any...

I feel like my clothes are feeling loser and i've def noticed a difference in the mirror.. could the low ketones be because i'm actually using most of the ketones for energy and as a result there isn't that much left over to be expelled through my urine/breath?

I am not showing as dark with stillmans but I'm losing more. I think 2 reasons. I am drinking so much more water so the ketones are not as concentrated (150oz +calorie free )also Im exercising more so ketones are being sweated out.

Here is a quote from the newbie page (which is excellent...set up by an administrator here, Cheri, to provide lots of info for newbies to low carbin')

Quote:
It is true that,"The liver will make ketones from body fat, the fat you EAT, and from alcohol --- the ketone strips have no way of distinguishing the source of the ketones. So, if you test every day after dinner, and dinner usually contains a lot of fat, then you may very well test for large amounts of ketones all the time
I hope this answers your question re. the ketones. The newbie page is excellent and has a LOT of info including "everything you wanted to know about ketones"
