magickal...so sorry that you are getting frustrated...and I totally understand the feeling.
Wish i knew the magic words to make the feeling go away. Scales can be so disappointing!! There are other things that are indicating that you are doing a wonderful job with your eating and weightloss...including the walking and better overall healthy outlook. I like to go by how things are fitting on me to get past the no scale loss. You have done such a good job so far ....don't let the scale make you second guess yourself and what you have accomplished! ![]() |

Hi Ladies, Hi Slatman!
I guess most of us are playing the waiting game! Let's not get crazy here, we're just going to relax and let out bodies do it's thing in it's own time! Stressing doesn't help! We're eating right, so we know that something has to happen soon!!Debi, are you drinking enough water? Maybe you can try adding some fat to your foods, or eat a green vegetable. I know when I ate a small green salad, the next day I was producing lincoln logs! It's worth a try!!! |

Happy Friday Everyone!!!
Scales were up to 159 this morning. But I ate a buffalo chicken salad for lunch yesterday. Since the scales hadn't moved all week, I was like what the heck. I am eating. So I took 2 water pills this morning and then got on the scales again. I am down to 156 this afternoon. I will take it... Thank you for all the encouraging post. Hopefully the whoosh fairy will come visit us all this weekend. |

Salt Water Flush
I think this is what Slatman is referring to:
Internal Salt Water Bathing As it is necessary to bathe the outside of our bodies, so it is with the inside. Do not take enemas or colonics at any time during the cleansing diet or afterwards. They are unnecessary and can be extremely harmful. There is a much superior method of cleansing the colonic tract without the harmful effects of customary colonics and enemas. This method will cleanse the entire digestive tract while the colonics and enemas will only reach the colon or a small part of it. Colonics can be expensive while our salt water method is not. Directions: Prepare a full quart of luke-warm water and add two level teaspoons of uniodized sea salt. Do NOT use ordinary iodized salt as it will not work properly. Drink the entire quart of salt and water first thing in the morning. This must be taken on an empty stomach. The salt and water will not separate but will stay intact and quickly and thoroughly wash the entire tract in about one hour. Several eliminations will likely occur. The salt water has the same specific gravity as the blood, hence the kidneys cannot pick up the water and the blood cannot pick up the salt. This may be taken as often as needed for proper washing of the entire digestive system. If the salt wash does not work the first time, try adding more or less salt until the proper balance is found; or possibly take extra water without the salt. This often increases the activity. Remember, it can do no harm at any time. The colon needs a good washing, but do it the natural way - the salt water way. It is quite advisable to take the herb laxative tea at night to loosen, then the salt water each morning to wash it out. If for some reason the salt water cannot be taken in the morning, then the herb laxative tea must be taken night and morning.

Watch out Deb... It will take about an hour but you really don't want to be away from home for about 2-3 hours after it kicks in. From my personal experiences, I've done the flush at 7:00am and started flushing out about 7:45am and didn't finish till almost noon. WOW, that makes me sound like I was just full of it!!!
It will die down a lot but you will have times where you are almost certain that you need to go again so it's good to know that you have your own place to go and not have to worry about being at work and that inconvenience. If I were you, I would plan to do it on your off day if possible. Also, I love to eat raw spinach when times get tough. It works for me every time. It will take till the next day to kick in but it works. Good Luck!! And don't worry too much, Stillman talks about this trouble in his book and that it is mainly because we aren't eating enough to produce a bm for a while. Let us know what you end up trying so in case one of us has the same problem. )Last edited by WHIRLYBIRD : 04-18-2008 at 02:05 PM. |

What is this herb tea called?
How often should you do the cleansing with the sea salt? I have not started the diet yet, but I am getting prepared with all this wealth of info. on here. I plan to start on Monday. Thanks. Last edited by Moretta : 04-18-2008 at 03:13 PM. |

I believe the herb tea is called Smooth Moves and you should be able to find it in most grocery stores as well as health food stores. It's main ingredient is senna which is habit forming and shouldn't be used too often. I don't use it at all. It causes too many stomach cramps for me but I've heard that others love it so I guess it just goes to show that everyone is different. I just copied and pasted the above article from CureZone.com. Like I said, I have done the sea salt flushes and THEY work!!! No cramping either! Yes, Slatman is right, they are super nasty tasting and I have to chase each drink with a taste of real lemon just to not gag but it does work.

Good morning everyone,
Man, have I been struggling over the past week. But I'm back and at it again. Didn't get all water in yesterday..but will aim to do so today. The whoosh fairy has been on hiatus from most of us...hopefully she'll come back soon! ![]() Moretta, I think salmon is a higher fatty fish but I've still eaten it while on Stillman's. It's one of my fav fish. All your other meats look good. Magickal~I've done the Master Cleanse and the herbal tea and sea salt are some of the main components for the cleanse. It will definitely work and as Whirlybird suggested, you want to do it while you're at home for a few hours. You will feel very 'clean' afterwards!! Hello to all others and Slatman..congrats on maintaining your personal goal to not have soda!! |

Oh Deb, I'm sorry. Slatman and I warned you. It's N-A-S-T-Y!!!
![]() That's why I have to chase it with lemon. I either put it in the water or just suck on it after I have taken a drink. I know it's not Stillman approved to have lemon so I guess you could use those Real Lemon packets instead. It does work though... It takes me about 30 minutes to get it all down. Hey, I had a little movement on the scale, I lost a whole pound from yesterday to today! WoooHooo!! I worked out both AM and PM and pushed it pretty good to the max and it paid off. Thank You Weight Loss God(s) ![]() I'll be repeating that same work out schedule again today and see what happens. I have to tell you, I have found something that might just keep me sane while on this WOE. I don't know if it's on the list of things we can eat but I've discovered fat free Ricotta cheese. OH MY GOSH!!! I picked it up yesterday at the store and looked at the numbers compared to fat free cottage cheese and there was really no difference so I thought what the heck, I'll give it a go. When I got home, I sprinkled a little bit of the Vanilla flavored Splenda on about 1/4 cup of Ricotta. It was so good I thought to myself "YOUR CHEATING, this can't possibly be good for the Stillman diet" Well, I'm down a pound so I don't think it stalled me in anyway so I'm going to try it again today. Oh, it's goooood! You don't hear that often on this diet... Magical, I don't think I lost weight with the salt water flush. Maybe 1/2 a pound or so. Yes, I felt good afterwords. I knew my colon needed a good house cleaning and that did the trick. I don't think it would hurt to do this even once a week. Those that are on the Master Cleanse Diet are advised to do it once a day while on the cleanse. (for more info, Google: Stanley Burrows, The Master Cleanse) Good Luck to all today! Hope everyone is having beautiful weather like we are here in Texas today. I love me some Spring time in Texas!!! (you have to say that with a sassy, Southern draw )Chow For Now, Jenni |
