Hi all! im new ish. been reading alot and have been on and off this board as a lurker for about a year. i lost 55 lbs in 2007 and wanna make a lil push to eek a few more out before i get pregnant.

i do like the stillmans, have a really hard time after the 2 days of increased eating coming back, but as long as im struggling im still in the game right?

i do have a question about metabolism. i do find that i cant eat very much at all with out a gain, even under 100gs of carb. so how do i get back to a healthy metabolism and what do you do to prevent that slow down?

i started water aerobics a few times a week in january and i did the 2nd of the couch to 5 k walk/jogs this am.

anyone feelin like givin me a boost?!

"i do have a question about metabolism. i do find that i cant eat very much at all with out a gain, even under 100gs of carb. so how do i get back to a healthy metabolism and what do you do to prevent that slow down?"

1. lot's of exercise (till ya can't speak kind of exercise)Experiment till you find something you like to do.. if it's not fun it's not gonna work... start slow and build 10% a week in intensity/distance
2. refeeds - free meal at least once a week - not a twinkie free for all.. add wheat pasta, veggies, fruit etc. don't let your body adjust to lower calories
3. mental - strong mind = strong body challenge yourself mentally and physically and you'll be jumping out of bed at 5am ready to go.. when you feel like your slowing down during the day run up and down some stairs and your good for another four hours
4. write yourself positive notes and reminders around the house
5. you have to be happy in your marriage, your job etc.. problems in these areas will bring you down... fix these issues first
6. screwups are opportunities for improvement

GREAT ADVICE SLATMAN! THINK I'LL BOOKMARK IT.

WELL I SEEM TO BE FAVORING THE ATKINS 72 THREAD LATELY, SORRY, NEEDED SOME CHEESE AND THOSE LEAN MEATS ARE MORE EXPENSIVE! BUT I STILL HAVE LOVE FOR YOU ALL ON HERE AND THIS PLAN AS WELL, LIKE TO SWITCH IT UP EVERY NOW AND THEN, BUT I'LL CHECK IN EVERY NOW AND THEN AND WILL PROB SWITCH BACK LATER, LOVE THE COTTAGE CHEESE, BUT EVEN THOUGH IT SAYS UNLIMITED I FOUND MY SELF EATING THE BIGGEST CONTAINER 32OZ DAILY! AND THAT JUST SEEMED EXCESSIVE

BEST WISHES/WHOOSHES TO YOU ALL

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND

OK...I am getting my head wrapped around the Stillman plan for the month.

I haven't eaten on any plan the past 2 days but I have got my walking in...just couldn't stop the walking...I think it is something I do truely enjoy!!

After reading slatman's posts I can see some improving that I need to do to work the Stillman's QWL diet.

So I am ready....anyone else going for it this month??

Annie,
1/2 cup a day of the cottage cheese per day is a good limit
"unlimited" anything is not a good idea.. I don't think stillman knew how much this society could actually put away when he said that...
low carb & keeping calories where you lose 2lbs a week is the way to go

Slatman--
That's pretty much my long term goal, until my desired weight is reached 2.5 lbs a week would be a little nicer to make it a whole 10lbs a mon., but i know slow and consistant is key.
They actually sell the cottage cheese in serving size containers, i think in a 6-pack, so even though the cost is a little more, i think knowing "only eat one" would work well with me and I love my Jennie-O turkey burgers!

Most of it is just the mental aspect, feeling the need to eat something to make us feel good, when in the long run it just makes us feel worse.

Food was always such a big part of our "entertainment" i'm finding myself to find other things to fill that, and that's always a slow process.

Glad there are people on here like you to remind us that there is more to life than unhealthy food.

If I do recommit to QWL sooner than I thought, I'd have to look into those refeeds further, sound like the smart thing to do, if you make the right choices.

Hey everyone,

Just checking in kinda fell off plan the past few days due to stress and all but brand new month and a new commitment.Realized eating the Stillman way makes me feel a whole lot better, the few days I was off it I got so tired and sleepy at work, that cheating just wasn't worth it because I felt awful.
Got my eating plan, did my grocery shopping, found a lot of motivation, even bought a new mp3 and finished doing the workout playlists This should be a great month!!!
Goodluck to everyone

Weighed today. 173. At least I didn't pack on any pounds on my 2 day escape. Didn't lose any either so time to get down to business.

I got 6 miles done on the treadmill yesterday and plan to do another 6 today.

B- 2 scrambled eggs
L- baked chicken breast
D- 1/3 grilled hamburger steak

Hope everyone has a great day!

hi all.

I wanna join for feb 2008. I've been making so many excuses. I am ready for Stillman. I am 5' 1", small boned and currently weight 140. My clothes are tight and I just feel "yucky". I hope to lose at least 10 pounds for a start.

cskies and slatman, you guys are so supportive and discipline...you two are my inspiration.

I'm here, forgot to look for February I was wondering why I hadn't gotten any emails to update me, lol.
I dont' know if what I am doing is Stillmans or not, but I continue to strive for it. (I believe it's not, I'm eating more fat than he recommends ) I'd still like to stick around.

Struggling also, but today was 158, which was down 1 lb. I had a few off days also and got up to 160, but hopefully I have more control now.

B
2 eggs 1 oopsie

L
chicken/cabbage soup

S
turkey meatballs

snacks
oopsie
herbal teas

Hi everyone!! Newbie to Stillman's here...I hope you don't mind if I invade your thread...I have been doing Stillman's for 2 days and I've lost 3.5 pounds. I started at 146, and I'm 5' 3", so I'd like to get to 125 or so. Eating LC has been my main WOE for a year or so, but I've let carbs back in, and this is a great way to be tough, and get back into ketosis. i'd like to do Stillman's for a two week period, and then add a few veggie carbs back in. Wish me luck! You have a great group of people on this thread!

Kim, glad to have you with us. I am also 5'3 but at my age, 125 would be laughable, so I'm shooting for 140. Even 10 yrs ago 125 was too low for me. 135 was a good weight then.

Congratulations on your loss so far. Stillmans is a way to get it off quickly, but it's tough to stick with. Glad to have you join us.

Hmmm, annie, I never thought about making the oopsies w/ cottage cheese. I might try that and maybe it will help me w/ Stillmans. I did feel guilty eating them being made w/ cream cheese, but they helped so much I hated to stop using them too. Thanks for the tip.

Scale was the same this morning, but I ate on plan, I just don't lose quickly anymore. Today will also be on plan.

B
2 eggs 1 oopsie

L
chicken/cabbage soup

S
turkey meatball

snacks
herbal tea
s/f cocoa
oopsie

Morning ladies,

Weight: 198

B: Water
L: Water
D: Panda mandarin chicken

Exercise: Monday rest day
Saturday: Made it the 60 miles with the big boys... avg speed back to town (30 miles) over 32 miles per hour crazy fast on a bike
Sunday: Supposed to be a slow recovery day but some of the guys decided to really push it.. group of 24 shrunk to four at the turnaround. Had to go help work the superbowl party at work and was totally useless.. could barely stand up

Good morning everybody,

Not weighing in until the end of the week, until I'm sure it won't show the damage I did over the weekend
I have a question though everyone keeps mentioning oopsie rolls, what are they?
Got up early this morning about to do 30 mins of stairstepping and recommitted to my goal of sticking to Stillmans, honestly I want to lose 50 lbs by the end of March in time for Spring Break.

Hope everyone has a good day and hang in there.

Just made a batch of oopsies w/ cottage cheese. They were pretty good.
You can find the oopsie thread under recipe helps, but here is one recipe.

3 eggs seperated
1/4 t. cream of tartar
1/4 t. xanthan gum
2 drops liquid splenda
1/2 C. cottage cheese

Beat egg whites w/ cream of tartar until stiff, add xanthan gum if you desire and whip a little longer.

to small bowl add the 3 egg yolks, cottage cheese & splenda, blend together.

Slowly add yolks mixture to whites, being careful not to break down whites.

Drop 6 piles on cookie sheet that has parchment paper on it, 350 degrees for 15-20 min. Each roll has 1/2 egg, unknown amount of cottage cheese. Don't know how to divide 1/2 C. cottage cheese into 6 portions. My guess is it would be 2-3 T. cottage cheese or .125 C. on fitday.

leslie wantabe Welcome! 10 lbs off is 14 days or less away if you stick to this plan...
CyoneWeekends have always been tough for everyone... plan for it with a refeed meal with some good carbs mixed with fat.. (maybe steak, salad, broccoli & cheese with sour cream and bacon bits) and see how you do

That's some amazing biking Slatman!!

Linda...I always pictured you as tall in my head...like 5'7 or 5"8??

Hello to everyone!!

I did get 4 miles on the treadmill done today...wanted it to be 6 but 4 is all I got out!!

Had some beef in chicken stock soup for supper.

They say we are getting 5 to 7 inches of snow over night so I will have to get up early to shovel my walkways. Really looking forward to that again!! Actually it allows me to play in the snow without looking too goofy!!

Hi everyone! Thanks for the welcome.

I am going to be weighing twice a week, and eating on plan. I have decided that I will have an Atkins shake for breakfast, because they are roughly the same as 2 eggs for fat and calories and carbs...hope this is ok. I need to drink them in my car on the way to work, so they are convenient.

Today:
Atkins shake
roast chicken breast
3 chicken thighs no skin w lc catsup
water

Also exercised on treadmill for 30 minutes...

Have a great day!!

Good morning,
Scale was trying to move down, but didn't so I'll call it the same this morning. I'm hoping maybe tomorrow.
Wow cskies, that's a lot of snow up your way. Hoping we don't see any snow, but it's raining here now. You're doing great on the exercise. I went to the gym yesterday & did 30 min. on treadmill. I'll probably do weights today.
Boy, those chicken thighs sound good, Kim.
Everybody have a super day.

B
2 eggs, 1 oopsie

L
chicken/cabbage soup

S
turkey meatball

snacks
