Anyone stall on Stillman's?

Hey all you "Stillman's Seasoned Experts"...
Do you ever have a stall on Stillman's and if so any advice on how to break it?

Hi Twitime,

Yes I have, and most of the time it's because I have eaten something that threw the diet off, hence stopping my loss.

You might review everything you've eaten over the last week and see if there's something that could have thrown the diet off. Remember it takes 3 days for the diet to re-boot if you've gone off. It could be anything.

Also if you've cut down on what you're eating, you may need to eat more eggs and/or meat. I know I get to the point where I'm not hungry at all, and have to almost force myself to eat.

So hang in there, take a look at what you've been eating, expiriment with leaving that out of your diet this week, and as always, increase your water intake.

Good luck!!!
Jane

Thanks Jane, that makes sense, I forgot about the 3 days, and i overate on Sunday,(my cheese addiction) I just was hoping after being strict yesterday the scale might have moved today. I am just looking for miracles I guess. and it's my own fault for the stall, I ate too much fat over the weekend and an oz of regular cheese on Sunday! Bad me!

In fact I am really hungry too, and that's probably why. Thanks for the input.

1 not enough fat
2 not enough calories
3 too much fat
4 too many calories (yes, on stillmans your not supposed to have to count calories but some folks don't know when to quit eating and having a calorie goal for the day will speed loss) see fitdaydotcom
5 not finding the "hidden" carbs that's in about everything (sausage, bacon, ketchup, dressings etc)
Lean meat, chicken, eggs, and fish with no sauce is about it... anything else could have hidden sugar and carbs
6 not enough water ... the more you weigh and the closer you stick to the plan the more water you need
7 not spreading your calories/fat/protein out over the day (eating light 2 meals then gorging)
8 not doing light exercise (15 min morning and night) to help keep your metabolism going
9 not reloading.. after being on qwl too long you need a reload (free meal) with carbs then back on plan (the bod can still go in a "starvation" mode on qwl you need to give it some reassurance that alls ok now and then)
10 things not moving... keep things moving with fiber as needed (see one minute muffin)
11 too much gum, soda, diet drinks, stick to water only if stalled
12 don't get too caught up the "net carbs" game... if stalled don't eat carbs

other helpfull hints:

write a letter to yourself about what your doing and what your goals are and why. keep the letter with you at all times and read it daily and when you feel the need to cheat

read your diet plan daily -- from the stillmans link -- it helps you stay on plan and not "find" things to eat that are not exactly on plan

Thanks for the input Slat, wow, kind of like "Damned if ya do, damned if ya don't"!

My body won't let me get away with anything! so I need to lower the food and up the exercise and not be so impatient with the scale. Maybe I need to challenge myself NOT to weigh myself till Friday!

Thanks a bunch!

Your at the point where the "quick" weight loss phase is over.. now your going into the 2 lb a week phase which is where a lot of people quit and start gaining back. This is where you need to be strong and keep going. Use fitday and find that magic number where you can eat what you want and still maintain/lose for a more permanent woe...

Find a type of exercise you enjoy and post it here daily will help you stay on track. I have never felt better after getting back into cycling which I never had time for but this time I made time for it

I've been walking every morning now that it's gotten cooler in the mornings! I would love a bike but my husband is afraid I'll fall off and break a hip or my leg! Jeez, I'm clumsy, but come one, not THAT clumsy! Well, I am a bit accident prone! We'll see, I would really like one of those bikes that is real close to the ground and you are almost laying down, don't even know what they're called, but they look fun, and if I'm close to the ground, not far to fall, right?

recumbent bikes... very difficult to learn to ride those
just going around the block can be very beneficial... I live on a busy street but ride to
more residential type neighborhoods with big hills
