Down 1 more!
I wasn't going to weigh myself this morning because yesterday morning I had lost a pound and knew it wouldn't happen 2 days in a row PLUS I really ate lots of food yesterday! But I woke up and out of habit I hopped on the scale and to my amazement I was down another pound!
Wow I am so happy! Amazed, but happy! So Tues. started week 2 of Stillmans and I am sticking to it for sure for another week, and we'll see from there. I will always go back to it and probably just do it at least 3-5 days per week along with Atkins. Anyway this is the first time since Dec. that I have been able to take some weigt off and believe me, I've been trying every diet out there~~ Last edited by Twitime : 09-27-2007 at 06:22 AM. |

I'm just up for about any challenge, I need ALL the help I can get! My real challenge and goal is 20 pounds by Dec. 1st, and by Thanksgivng even better because I know between Thanksgiving and Christmas I will just be struggling not to GAIN! Starting Dec. 1st I have a trip to Vegas, (lots of drinking), then my anniversary, then my birthday, then Christmas! We have a wedding in Jan. and Feb. so I really need to get to my goal before all that hoopla!
Congrats on your loss! Doesn't it feel great? FINALLY the scale is moving for me which thrills me to pieces! How's evryone else doing? Check in guys!! ![]() |

No not famous whatsoever, we have some dedicated local fans though. Where I live is population of maybe 30,000, not a great big city but smaller community.
I'm in a group of 5 and our name is "House Blend" - originating from the music jams at the coffee house where I frequent. I play guitar and sing, we also have a banjo, fiddle and bass player. 2 guys and 3 gals total. We do bluegrass, traditional, gospel, some country, mix of others - oldies, a bit modern when we can, not too much rock. Our instruments are acoustic meaning they are not like the electric guitars you see the rock bands use and the bass is one like you'd see in an orchestra, not a bass guitar. We specialize us 3 gals with some solid 3-part harmonies - we'd been playing at the jams together for quite awhile and decided about 2 yrs. okay to try our hand at a group. We've played lots of different places, fraternal organizations, weddings, family reunions, one small festival, things like that -real low key. I wouldn't say we're ready for the big-time, I don't know if we want that, but we've had requests to get a CD done, and we have been hired to play at a music festival next June. The main thing is that we have fun together. If I didn't have the music in my life it would be pretty empty, it's a big part of my soul .....Sorry for rambling, Jane |

![]() Cheeses Hey Jane, Thanks so much for taking the time to share this info on cheese.....It is very helpful and I appreciate it so much......I agree with you, I have to go real light on the cheese, but I am such a cheesaholic, it will be tough !......so far this week, I have just been doing the strict M/E and I am seeing some good results, so I will probably just hang with that for a while and then swap it up and try something else......have to keep this old body guessing ! Thanks again for your help and good luck in your weight loss quest ! Brenda

So tomorrow we're having spare ribs. They look lean but I'm sure they are still too fatty for Stillmans. Guess I'll have to do Atkins tomorrow for a day or two, or do you think just one day of fatty stuff would be okay and maybe call it a "Meat and Egg" diet day, since the original does allow fat, or use it as an Atkins cheat day? (I would die for a tsp. of cream in my coffee..)
Any opinions? Will I totally screw up this lovely roll I'm on? ![]() |

New to Stillmans
Hello all. I have lost 10 pounds on Atkins. I have 35 more to go to reach my goal weight. I have tried to lose these 35 pounds for over 10 years!!! My body has been holding on to this weight and does not want to let it go! I am a 35 year old mom
I am 5'11 and 185. I have been stalled at 185 on Atkins for two months, LOL. My body really likes this weight. Of course, I cheat often and use way to many artificial sweeteners. My goal is to be at 165 by December for a get together. two months....20 pounds.....it would be nice. I would love to be 150 eventually. My body fat is horrendous (37%!) I exercise regulary. I am a runner and hiker and have incorporatated weights into my training program. I am also starting Callanetics and Isometrics. Hoping to banish my disgusting belly! Also, I am covered in cellulite. EWWW. I can't wear shorts, my legs are disgusting. I just want to re-shape my body. I am starting stillmans tomorrow. Lots of chicken breast, eggs, (some low fat cheese....) I ordered the books, waiting for them to get shipped from Amazon. Thanks for all the info on this site, so I don't have to wait!! I have a question; what do you think about low fat plain yogurt with a dash of splenda or stevia added? I know yogurt is really good for you. Have missed eating it on Atkins, can't believe I never thought of that before..... I love these forums, all of you are inspirational!!! Thanks. |

Welcome Freyja!!
Hi and so happy to have you here.
Stillman's is very strict, if it's not on the list don't eat it, so I would avoid the yogurt, there will be a time later on that you will be able to enjoy some old favorites but to reach your goal as fast as possible, stick to the original list. I can about guarantee you will get over your stall if you do Stillmans and follow it to a tee! It got me over my stall! and I will do both Atkins and Stillmans until I'm at my goal. Kind of a back and forth thing to shake it up a bit! Good Luck and just ask as many questions as you have, the people here are great and they have helped me tremendously~! I still ask questions all the time, and I HAVE the book! Sometimes a personal opinion makes more sense and the different ideas and input are valuable! ![]() |
