Good deal! Welcome Desha!!!
Hey hey, I am down another pound this morning!! Haven't changed my profile yet, but I am doing the happy dance! ![]() I ended up getting some ff cottage cheese and mixed 1/4 c. with HB egg and mashed it and believe it or not it tasted like egg salad! It's amazing how we end up liking the weirdest stuff on this WOE isn't it? |

Now that egg salad sounds really good!!!
I've made tuna salad & chicken salad that way. It's a nice change from all the red meat. Think I need to go to the store tonite and get me some more cottage cheese.I was down 1 lb. also this a.m., but going to wait until Friday morning to see if it holds (or drops more, would be great!).B: Nothing L: hb egg & whatever meat they have here at work, if not the turkey bacon I brought with me. S: Go to the store and get some cottage cheese to make egg salad!!!! Jane |

Jane, every day you list "whatever meat they have at work"...do you work with food? Like at a restaurant or grocery store? I have never worked anywhere that gave me meat! - well except when I worked at the College cafeteria! That's pretty sweet, if you can get free meat!

Kroger brand!
Also, I don't know if you have Kroger there, our store here is called "Fry's" but their generic brand is Kroger, anyway they have the best fat free cottage cheese~! most brands are kind of dry, but the Kroger brand is super creamy and good, so if you have it in Kansas, give it a try, if I can't get that brand the Walmart brand of ff cc is pretty good too! Lucerne brand sucks! "Dry as a popcorn fart!" - sorry about that, one of my DH's sayings!!

I'm so upset. I'm up 4 pounds from last week. Geez, all I had extra was 2 light beers and some fruit and salads a couple times. This is crazy. I'm so tired of not being able to eat.
I'm going through so much in my life right now - impending divorce, stress. I have watched all week other than what I've mentioned. I can't stick with it I guess and am going to try something different. Maybe I need to start counting calories. or start smoking again. or jump a bridge. Meh! Sorry to be a downer, but I just can't believe this. I could see if I ate pizza and cake and chips, but WTH is up with 4 pounds? Ruined my day.....

Started back on the diet yesterday...slipped a little though. But I am down 2 lbs. That makes me feel a little better.
Twitme...My own version is actually a combo of low carb plans...mainly Stillman QWL and K/E & Kimkins. Right now I'm on Stillman & K/E for a good re-start boost. Then I will add small amounts of the low carb veges. I take it a day at a time, or week to week to determine how much or if I eat the veges. When I need a boost, I delete the veges from my diet. There have been a few times when I was really on a big stall..weeks at a time, that I actually added more carbs, let myself gain a couple pounds and then hit the virtually zero carb WOE again. Then my body will drop more weight more quickly. It is almost like starting all over again. BUT one must be very careful not to let the carbs start up that strong craving again. That's what happened to me around the beginning of Summer and I just slipped back into the old carb addiction for the last few months and I gained that 12 lbs. I hope everyone is having a grrrrrrrrrrrrrreat day!!!

Twitime - Meat at work - I work in a nursing home, and at lunch time, the kitchen here puts out leftovers from the resident meals the night before for staff to eat. It can be a variety from roast beef, to turkey meat, sometimes chili, hamburgers, hot dogs, other things like that. Sometimes there are casseroles which I can't eat but the food is good, it is hot at lunchtime and I usually eat whatever meat is available, and don't know until lunch what it's going to be.
Cottage Cheese - we have Dillon's stores here which is a Kroger branch, I usually buy my cottage cheese there and even though I'm not a big cc fan, the taste is good. We also have Wal-Mart so have bought the Great Value brand cc, not too bad. I buy generic because I can't afford the name brands. TammySue - Sorry you are so down about the weight gain - but don't give up, no matter what you choose to do with your eating!!! Look at your stats, from 262 to 186 - WOW WOW WOW![]() They say the hardest pounds to lose are the ones closest to your goal. Don't get down on yourself for wanting to eat, we all deal with that, and we're all human, and sometimes when the food calls us, our minds just have to have what we see. And in times of stress and troubles the last thing I think about is what I'm eating. I wish you all the luck in the world that your situation improves!!!!! Take it one day at a time, take care of yourself first like the awesome person that you are. We are all here for you no matter what you decide to do!!! ![]() Keep in touch even if you decide to try something else, we'd like to hear from you at any time!!!!! Take care, Jane |

Tammysue try to hang in there. I have been gone for a while, so I don't know what all you are eating. I have done a very very quick scan over some of the posts. Perhaps your body is sensitive to eating the cottage cheese. I LOVE it but avoid it like the plague when trying to lose weight on low carb. It will stall me out every time and fruit is an absolute killer for me. Please don't give up. Just keep tweeking your eating and find out what works for you and what doesn't. Shoot it took me a long time to tweek my eating and find out what foods are the deal breakers for me to losing weight. I don't know what kind of fruit you ate, but for me, it will pack the weight back on just as much as if I was eating pasta or bread. Most food is loaded with carbs. Obviously some are lower than others but you'd have to eat very very little of any of them not to sabotage your weight loss. At least that's how it is for me. The very hardest part for me is the initial time of getting those carbs out of the diet. The cravings are strong (I'm going through it right now with my re-start). But it is so worth it Tammysue. Please hang in with us and let us help you through this rough time. And remember too, as with most of us (especially women) weight can fluctuate a LOT from day to day. I also know for me that the more water (plain) that I drink, the more I lose. Hang in there girl!
I think I've kinda rambled on here. I hope it makes some sense for you. Oh my goodness I just now saw your stats in LoveJohn's post. OMG, you are doing GREAT!!!! Don't give up on it now. Here I am trying to give you diet advice when you could probably give me a lot of good advice. I know you are going through a rough time personally. I have been there also. There is a light at the end of the tunnel and you WILL come through it. Last edited by shenue : 09-26-2007 at 08:16 AM. |

As much as I want to lose the weight, it is like I sabotage myself and I don't even mean pigging out - just like you - maybe I will have some popcorn - I am a single parent raising two teenage daughters (have been for like 14 yrs) with no financial help from dad plus the owner's son at my job is the biggest A-HOLE you ever met so yeah, the stress is there also. But, it will come let's tey and drink lots of water today!! and if you need to vent, PM me!!![]() BBL- Cheryl

Hi!
It is hard to deal with putting yourself FIRST when stress is all around you. I understand your troubles as well. I work 2 jobs and extra clerical work when I can find it. My hubby's work is seasonal (outdoors), so the winters hit us really hard - he works extra where he can find it too. We try to save through the year to make ends meet but somehow the money always goes somewhere..... We had to buy a newer vehicle this year as our old trusty van crapped out, so there was another unplanned expense, and I'm still paying off a debt from a couple years ago when things were real tight and I had no option but to borrow money at a high interest rate. Our son is 14+ (along with everything at that age), and I don't know how anyone can do it - meaning my hat is off to all you BIG TIME, to you parents who have more than one child! Sometimes he's hard to deal with and I don't know if I'm making the right decision as a parent for his future, etc. Please, I'm not telling you these things to feel sorry for me, I accept that life sometimes hands you things you just have to deal with, and I'm dealing with them the best way I know how, take one day at a time, work hard, and hope that each passing day will eventually make things easier in time. So....., sometimes all I can think about when I get home is that nice comfy chair in front of the TV, and whatever food I can grab from the frig. So the diet is for ME, because it is ME who I need to help and ME that I need to feel good about. If I feel good about who I am then it makes me feel good about the rest of my life, and to deal with it a little easier. Just losing a lb. or two a week makes it all worthwhile for me, and being able to read / post with everyone here is such an awesome thing. It's keeps me inspired and gives me hope for the future. I hope this all makes sense. Take care all! Jane |

Bravo to you all! What a great, supportive team we have here!! and this is a great place to vent, so vent! It will get it off your chest and keep you from throwing in the towel and EATING all the wrong stuff. It's like a punishment to yourself to cheat/eat because it's like you don't care about yourself and are not worth it! I know that's how I feel when i eat crappy! I figure I'm hopeless, and deserve to be fat and miserable! So let's try not to go there, we are all here for the same reason and it's one of the hardest things to do, so we need each other's support so we can reach the finish line! I know I need you guys for sure!
So together we can do this!! Hang in there everyone and if we have a bad day, whether it's in our diet or our emotions, let's just try to get through it and let it go! We will all be here for each other! Okay crew?Last edited by Twitime : 09-26-2007 at 11:08 AM. |

Just checking in! Thought I would post my menu for today.
B: 1 hb egg L: 2 tilapia fillets sauteed in pam and 1 hb egg D: leaning toward steamed salad shrimp and 1 hb egg 1 20 oz diet dr p 2 sticks sugar free gum so far about 20 oz water (gotta work on this) Im not gonna do the cottage cheese for the first week or so, last time week 1 I did only the meats and eggs and lost 13 pounds. Then week 2 I added in 1/2 c cottage cheese and went up in weight. Im hoping to do this until the end of December with the occasional day of higher fat or salad. Does that sound ok? How long have you all done QWL at a time?

Biggest Loser?
So do you guys watch the Biggest Loser? I always watch shows like that for inspiration! If I find myself whining about not wanting to exercise or being bored with my menu, I think of what those poor people are going through every day! Can you imagine working out that hard every day and only losing 2 lbs! Now THAT would be discouraging!

I know! My husband and I watch it together and he likes it and looks forward to it but thinks everyone crys too much! He'll snicker and I give him the "Evil Eye"! Crap! I'd cry too if I only lost 2 pounds after a week of grueling Boot camp type workouts! I couldn't do any of that stuff! and I HATE to sweat! - good luck huh, since i live in Phoenix! lol!
I was not happy that Jerry got booted, what an inspiration to older people, and he was so supportive, like a father figure! |

Cottage Cheese - you can also buy "dry curd" which does not have the creamy stuff on it, but it is dry, dry, dry, worse than the hb eggs can get. uggg.

New to Stillmans
Hello everyone,
If I promise to be nice, can I please join ya'll ? lol I am in my 3rd week of Atkins induction and was just doing so-so......I think it is probably because I had greatly reduced my carb intake before I started Atkins....so I decided I would do Stillmans M/E for a few days and then switch back to Atkins. This is my first time ever to try Stillmans M/E and I just started today. I read the rules and allowed foods, but I was hoping you guys could take a look at my "intake" for today, just to make sure I am on track. B: 2 HB eggs 2 slices Can Bacon in microwave L: 2 grilled HB patties D: 1 small grilled chicken breast; 3 HB eggs 10 glasses of H20 and 2-3 cans Caffiene Free Diet Coke Exercise: 45 minutes on Elipitical Glider I understand this program is basically just meat and eggs period. I do know cottage cheese is permitted, but I HATE cottage cheese. I saw this info on farmers cheese and pot cheese, and I never even heard of these and they don't sound too palatable. Is there any form of 2% skim milk cheese that can be used on this QWL without it interferring with weight loss ? I sure appreciate everyone's help and I can tell by the posts here, this is a great group ! I am so glad I found you guys....I need the support !

Your menu sounds just fine to me! Hey, you are on the "Lose it by Thanksgiving" team with me too! I did Induction for 2 weeks and then came over here to Stillman's and this starts week 2.
Not sure about other cheeses, I just stick to the book. Anyway, glad you are here, the more the merrier! ![]() |
