Ok... Weigh-in day...

So, I have been doing good all week...no cheats. I thought for sure I would be down at least 3 or 4lbs...not the case if I go from my last weeks weigh in, than I am down....are you ready.... 2lbs... I've really been drinking and limiting my food. Jane, maybe your right... maybe my body thinks I am starving it..I am really not sure...or since I've lost almost 60 - it does not want to give it up so easly What ya think??
I was thinking of doing the Atkins shakes...I really like them & plus I can buy chocolate ones. Just drinking about 3 of those day plus my water intake.
Do you think that might kick my metabolism into gear?? It seems like I've stalled..Or should I continue doing Stillmans and see what next week is like??
I am pretty much just eating one meal a day.
I hope your weigh-in goes much better....let me know!!! I'll be checking & thanks for the advice in advance!!!

Hello All,
Well, Auntie and Mr. Scale are very kind today, down 2.5 lbs from last week, I am pleased as haven't been this low since before Christmas last year

Lisa, I think you need to find out what works for you. Maybe to try the Atkins shakes, modify the diet to suit your needs and what your body wants, I'd say give it a shot, or do the shakes for awhile, then go back on QWL, I've heard also that people lose weight by rotatiing their diets - I'd say go for it.

Also, remember that 2 lbs. is 2 lbs. - and your total loss since April is 60 right!!! THAT IS AWESOME AND SOMETHING TO BE VERY PROUD OF - so keeping thinking positive and try what you think will work for you and go for it!!! And let us know.

In all honesty, I'm surprised that my modified diet is working for me, it's slower maybe, but that way I don't feel like I'm starving. And I've been pretty much able to stay on it with no real big cheats or fall offs. So I'm going to keep doing what I'm doing.

Desha, if you're out there, let us know how you're doing!!

Daniel, congrats on the 7 lbs.!!!

Have a Great Day all!

Hey ladies,

I'm still here. It's been busy the past couple of days. I've been trying to install bundles on to our demo environment (I work in the IT field) and I haven't had a chance to post. I have been working a couple of late nights and that makes for a little cheating and missing the gym, but I'll be done with this extra work today thank goodness. So I plan on getting back on track today and going to the gym tomorrow. Anyway, gotta get back to work.

Have a great day.

Hi All..

Desha - great to hear from you...I've noticed you haven't changed your stats... Do you have that much will power to stay off that scale...I wish I did...sometimes it just brings me down especially when I think I've done sooooo good!!!

Anyways... I tried today as a free day... went to lunch w/ my sister & daughter...Longhorns... I love their chicken fingers (and honey mustard dipping sauce)...so I got those with a side salad and grilled vegies...and yes, I had a piece & a half of their fresh baked wheat bread!!!! you know I think I need to reboot my system maybe it will kick in to lose again!! My sister thinks maybe I hit a plateau...who knows I'm just disappointed because I have so much to lose and it's not moving=
(Jane -fyi- I've only lost 59 - not yet 60)
I am going to go and buy the atkins shakes and try those for awhile... I just can't seem to get my niche' of what makes my body lose!!! I should be out exercising.. but it is in the 90's & humid here!!! No excuses right? my butt should be doing something inside!!! I'm going to look for our weights tonite.

Okay...everyone have a great nite & I'll check in later...
Take care..
Lisa

Hi All,
I'm still hanging in there. I did indulge in some pizza yesterday, course I scraped the top meat and cheese off, didn't have the crust and I actually ate a lot yesterday, more than I had for a couple weeks. Even though all of it meat, cheese, egg and that sort of stuff, I am still feeling full this morning.

For some reason I hit a "hungry" day yesterday and thats why I ate the pizza tops I think, it was the first day I've been truly truly tempted to actually eat what I saw instead of walking away from it, so tried best I could.

Today I have yet another pot-luck dinner to go to and so I'm going to follow the diet as close as I can. It feel like yesterday's excess threw me off a bit willpower wise, so I'll have to really fight the urges today as all that food will be laid out before me and my will power is a bit weak for some reason

And I'm gonna start right back full force this afternoon when I get home and probably not eat anything else the rest of the day.

So I hope you all have a greeaaattt day today!
I'll check back in later sometime.
Jane

Hi Jane...

Don't worry about the pizza tops...it's been quite a while since you gave into temptation... Just get right back to it today!!! I did pretty ok Sat & Sun - of course I had to get on the scale...not too much of change... stayed the same. Thats good after the way I pigged out on Friday . Oh well, I'm still trying to figure out what's going to make those numbers move!!
Have a Happy Monday...we'll talk to you later...

Hi!

Sounds like everyone had a good weekend.

My system is out of whack this morning, I also ate some summer sausage over the weekend (it wasn't the regular kind I use, tried another brand), and maybe it was bad, ingredients were similar on the label. It threw my whole body for a loop intestinally (bloating and my stomach swelled like I had grazed a huge meal and politely put, "Montezuma's revenge").

Feeling much better this a.m., but I'm going to take things slow today food wise and try to drink some extra water today to see if I can flush out the rest of this uggg.

Other than that, things are going well. I had a pot luck to go to this weekend (our group played & sang there), but we played during the meal, so by the time we were done they had put all the food away and everyone went home. So I was glad that temptation was taken away! I wasn't even disappointedat!

So here's to another day's goal of being cheat free, let's hope the extra water will do the trick for my system.

Take Care,
Jane

Hello,
Feeling much better today, must have been that summer sausage.

I got on the scale and was up by a lb., but I think that was due to the s.s. probably throwing off the diet, so technically I'm starting over, usually takes 3 days for everything to get into place.

I'm still planning on weighing in on Friday, we'll see what the next couple days bring.

Here's to a cheat free day for all!!!

Lisa and Desha, you still out there girls? Would love to hear from you!

Have a great day!
Jane

Hey Jane,

I'm still here. It's been hard but I'm trying to keep up. I hadn't been feeling well lately. I think just eating meat and exercises was not working well for me. So I decided to add a little bit of vegetables to my diet. Now that I have, I'm feeling 100% better. I think since I've been working out very hard I needed some veggies. I actually ran for 20 minutes straight on Saturday. I couldn't believe it. I think I'm starting to get my groove back. I haven't stepped on the scale in a while because I have cheated and I've been a little nervous to. If my weight has gone up I really don't want to know. So I think it's best for me to weigh myself in a week or two.

I help everyone is doing well.

Hola Folks!

I'm new to this thread, somewhat new to the site. I was actually on a couple of months ago when I first started Stillmans, and was posting regularly for about 2 or 3 weeks. I believe I lost about 9 or 10 pounds in that time before had to go out of town for a month for some military training. It was impossible to do Stillmans while I was there, and I swore I put on weight, but when I came home I had somehow managed to actually lose about 3 pounds in that month (thank God!)

I re-started Stillman's along with hitting the gym regularly as of yesterday. I'm keeping my starting weight the same in my stats because as far as I'm concerned that's still my start point... I just had to (unvoluntarilly) take a break.

I have a very bad habit of wanting to step on the scale first thing every morning, so of course I did today- down 1.6 pounds the first day, woohooooo!!! I just hope I can keep it up. I remember the first few days being the hardest, but once ketosis kicks in I should be ok. Hopefully.

I love this forum! It was total motivation for me to come on here and be able to share stats, and to see everyone encourage each other. Please you guys, don't let me fall off this wagon!!!

Tina

Welcome Tina

This is my 3rd go-round with Stillman's, first time was in 2000 weighing in at 285 lbs. to start, down to 190, then 2004 when I was at 235 and down to 157 (lowest). Have had some trouble over past couple years but decided to take charge of my life again and so started mid-July at 237 and down to 216 last weigh-in.

It was like a miracle that I found this "low carb friends" site - I LOVE IT It has kept me motivated these past 5-6 weeks and have met some awesome people. :aprayer

I'm in for the long ride, I don't plan to give up till I reach my goal!!!

Hi Jane,

Thanks for the welcome note Looks like you're doing very well with your weight loss! I'm hoping I can get down to my goal weight in about 3 weeks. It's about 18 pounds... a lot, I know. But I honestly believe that if I stick to the diet, along with my gym routine, I can do it. I plan to go back on Active Duty in the Army by the end of September, and if I make my weight by then it'll be the first time I make the weight standard and won't have to be taped for body fat. Man, wouldn't that be nice!

Grrr... I followed the diet and even did a spinning class (my first, not easy!) and somehow managed to put BACK on .4 pounds yesterday. What the heck?

You can do it!!!

I have a friend who is very petite in frame and has been trying to lose 10 lbs. for a long time now. She eats right, exercises, all the things she is supposed to do and still has trouble.

I think it's hard to lose weight no matter how much weight you have to lose!!!!!

We'll get there....

Hey Jane,

Yes I’m still here. Been busy so I don’t post as much. But still trying to stay on the bandwagon . My girlfriend was into town this weekend so I cheated a lot, had way too many drinks. But I’m happy to say I’m back on board today. I got up at 5:30am went to the gym and jogged for about 20 minutes so today is going to be a good one.

How have you been holding up?

Hi Desha!

Actually I'm doing good, just had 23rd wedding anniv. last weekend, but stayed on diet. We're going to a 4-day music festival on the 12th, so I'm tryin' hard to lose down to 210 by then, and we'll celebrate the anniv. there.

I walked our dog this weekend, once, so now I need to do that a couple nights a week. I didn't do my exercises over the weekend, so need to get started again.

I don't think the "cheating" is bad at all, you gotta enjoy the fun times in life when they are here, if you deny yourself that you aren't being fair to yourself!!!! Sounds like you're back on track with your food plan and exercise, way to go

Sooooooo nice to hear from you & keep in touch!
Take care,
Jane

Hey Jane,

Congrats on your 23rd wedding anniv (wow that’s a long time). Have a great time at the festival.
210 you’re almost there YOU can do it!!!. Stay focused like you have been and you will get there.

Thanks for the words of encouragement as always. Yes I think I’m back on track now. I can only say that because I got up at 5:30 this morning. It was hard and for a good 5 minutes I contemplating just getting extra sleep and not going. So that in itself tells me that I am back on track. I’m doing more Kimkins than Stillmans. Kimkins works better for me and since I’m in it for the long haul I guess I should somewhat enjoy it.

Have a good one,
Desha
