That was the amazing part. Not acidic (sp) taste whatsoever. It just broke down the proteins or whatever makes a turkey tough (maybe it touches it's inner child and softens it up a bit??)
It was the first bird the girl had ever cooked. I think she did baste it a bit with the juices as it cooked and kept it covered like usual. Said her grandfather told her this was the best route to a juicy bird. Gramps was right!!

Does anyone drink green tea? If so do they find it helps in weight loss?

Good Afternoon!

I am doing much better, but I am following more of an LC approach since I've been having salads and more fat than I do while on QWL. I want to have 10 clean QWL days before Christmas.

I've done the salt water flush several times. It is just 4 T non-iodized salt and 32 ounces of water. In 30-45 minutes, you better be near a toilet!

My shopping has been done, but not wrapped. Tree isnt up because I was waiting on the new carpet, which came yesterday!

I drank a lot of alcohol over the weekend, and of course the scale gave some "false" reading afterwards, but boy is it nice to see them

Did the "real" weekly weigh-in yesterday and I am heading back down again.
Total of -30.5 at this point, Thursday will be my 2 month which I will weigh again on.

I have been making cookies, and doing very well at not eating them, but instead I turn to something low carb BUT not Stillmans.

Looks like everyone is doing so well!

I dont think my Blood Pressure would like the salt flush lol but boy do I need it most of the time.

Stillmans Day 2
Woke up this morning to be at 255.0 I think it was a error in the scale... lets be hopeful though... I think I am going to hold off and do weekly weigh ins so I dont get excited then dissapointed when I am up

Todays Menu:
B: 1 egg with 1 piece of canadian bacon sprinkle of Ms. Dash ( Cal:117 Fat:7 Carbs: 1.4)
L: Chicken Roll (ground up chicken breast with canadian bacon and Low Fat string cheese (Cal: 398 Fat:18 Carbs:1)
D: 3 oz. beef steak lean (stir fry style beef) (Cal:196 Fat:8 Carbs:0)
S: if needed string cheese (Cal:78 Fat:5 Carb:1)

Totals: Cal:789 Fat: 38 Carbs: 3.4
I am sure I will have a splenda sweet def caf tea so add 4 carbs

How does my menu look??

Brittany, Hi
I never knew Candain bacon was low fat , but I just looked it up

I re-checked all 3 Stillmans threads, and I do NOT see cheese allowed any a single one of them, otherwise, ur menu looks good to me !!

I do see ur using low fat mozz, so thats better than other kinds of cheese

:::Slinking in::: (Hoping no one can smell pork skins or laughing cow on my breath)
Ok....I had a momentary lapse of reasoning. I didn't have a snack yesterday afternoon and went straight from work to the library then to pick up DD at gymnastics. It went a little sumfin like this:
DD: "Mom,I'm hungry." Mom: "Me too, lets go the grocery store." Need I say more?

It was a low carb trip but not a low fat trip. Except for the carbs, I'd been better off eating a can of chicken noodle like she did.
Scales are still holding steady. I probably would have had a 1-2 poud loss this am if it were not for the SO DiUM in all the junk I ate.
OK OK I fess up....I had beef jerky too!! Ya happy now??? :::speaking to my ever nagging conscience:::
Had a laughing cow JUST ONE for breakfast this morning. Going to throw them in the trash if DD or DH don't eat them soon. Pork skins usually don't tempt me after one or two handfuls. Just gotta have that crunch every once in a while. As for the beef jerky. I may have to enroll in BJA - You guessed it - Beef Jerky Anonymous. They have methadone clinics for Heroin addicts....wonder what could be injected to get your Beef Jerky fix?
I'm seriously thinking of looking up recipes and make my own lower sodium version of jerky. Not sure how Mrs. Dash would be in it....but if I can find enough flava (sans salt and carbs), I'm going to give it a go.

HOOPS - I saw you had made jerky from ground beef. How'd that go? I have a dehydrator. It seems that a ground meat would make a very tender jerky. Just not sure how to stack it in the dehydrator.

Ok, enough with the jerky obsession. Gonna eat cleaner today (cleaner for Stillmans) Can-o-chicken for lunch, got a egg for snack (realized yesterday how important it is to snack!!), fish for dinner.
I think I may make myself drink one pure bottle of water for each bottle I mix with Crystal Light.....we'll see how that goes. I'm not much for discipline if you couldn't tell.

Enjoy today all....you won't get another one

Hey, hey, hey, everyone...........and good morning............feeling good even though TOM arrived last night with a freakin BANG!!!!!!!!!!

So no weighing until it leaves............no need knocking a good mood since I haven't being seeing that lately.

Melly Lovely pics.........it's amazing your daughter looks so much older than she is.

Doit Yep, I'm woman enough to admit it..........you are my hero!!!! How in the world do you stay "raw" living in the blistering cold weather? I can't even get as much water in living in the South in the winter.........too cold..........

Brittnay What type dogs are in your avi? I rescued what appears to be a Bichon Frise...........they look similar to my new baby.

Pam Sounds like you are staying so busy..........but I think it's nice to be busy, I don't eat nearly as much when I'm a busy lady........

Waving to everyone else.............(we need a waving smilie, without the welcome sign).

Been really busy myself lately.........Oldest DD home from college for Christmas, first time she's seen my dad in the nursing home, she's taking it pretty well........you know when you are 19 you never think about being OLD.

Finally got my tree up last night...........it's so PURDY!!!!!!!!

I'll try and pop back in later...........DH's business has picked up thank goodness so I haven't even been able to come by and check in lately.....he's on the computer about 18 hours a day..........

Bye for now.

Brittany if you are following Stillmans strict you need to lose the cheese......other than that it looks good. You ARE allowed lowfat or nofat cottage cheese and there are alot of things you can do with it. You might want to also watch the canadian bacon......if you tend to retain water it has lots of sodium

Amy I drink my tea with a little bit of splenda...YUMMY!!! I currently am enjoying a holiday tea made by Celetial Seasonings called Candy Cane Lane....it is a wonderful treat. It is hard to find however.....I know that you can sometimes find it at Walgreens or Walmart during the holiday season......if you find some buy it and treat yourself

Day 2 back at the gym.....I am sore and paying for the week I missed.....WHY do I do that to myself......it will take me a week to work the soreness out of my muscles......but it hurts good!!! What can I say ........ I am a freak like that

I am changing my stats this morning......it gives me some incentive to continue doing what I am doing......I hate changing my numbers to a higher number but it is what it is and I know this *sigh*

Busted!

I was hoping that string cheese was allowed it is lc and low cal... I will do away with it though. Losing the weight has to be better than the 2 seconds of enjoyment from the cheese. Thanks Melly

Karen, yes they are both Bichon's...mine is on the right.. she is a smaller breed around 9 lbs....my parents have 2 of them one is 26lbs!! the other is 18lbs. Wonderful dogs.. very stubborn though.

We really think that's what he is..........I love him so much........he has alot of personality and I haven't found him too stubborn, we can't break him from peeing in the kitchen though, he won't go on the carpet and doesn't have BM's in the house so that's a good thing. He stays with me though 24/7 follows me everywhere even the bathroom. We've had him for almost 4 months now (still trying to get him to the vet, that's why we weren't certain what he was), when we rescued him he only weighed 10 pounds and his hair was falling out.........now he bounces from 14-18 pounds (he gained over thanksgiving......... ), but he truly is one of the friendliest and sweetest dogs I've ever seen (and I have 3 outside dogs, so I know... ). We think he is about 2 years old.

Thanks for the quick reply.

What is it about going outside to potty that makes them so happy? I have a teeny tiny Miniature Dachshund....7 lbs to be exact.....spoiled little brat but I love her......when she comes in from going outside to potty she always does laps around the house......she is so excited or relieved or something *shrugs*
