Hi everyone......I guess I have been a little preoccupied the last few days and just doing fly-bys but my life has just been really hectic!!!!! *understatement*

Update on me......got my Christmas tree up on Thursday as the snow was coming down. We had our neighbors over and I cooked a big pot of potato soup for them and made banana bread and put the tree up. Nothing like snow falling and putting the tree up.....really made it feel like Christmas time

DJ's trip is going well. He calls me several times a day and tells me what is going on. He shipped some boxes home today filled with stuff from his dad's apartment. He kept telling me that he felt strange about taking his dads stuff because they were not close and didn't have much of a relationship but there is a long history with all of that that is too long to go into. But all of his dad's family kept telling him to stop feeling that way.....DJ is his only son and they wanted him to have whatever he wanted. I also told him that even tho thier relationship was not what he might have liked for it to be, his dad would want him to haev his things. He has called me laughing at times and crying at others.....I really think this has been good for him.

My mommy goes home Tuesday. She has kicked the walker to the curb and is now using a cane and pretty proud of herself. Hopefully all this snow and ice will be gone by then

Sorry no time for personals as I have some other posting to do so I will catch up with you all in the morning

I never followed any exact plan, just been low carbing and exercising daily and the weight came off!! I still have a good 50+ pounds to go and I want to get there..finally.....reach my long intended goals.... I would love to lose say 15 pounds by xmas. I thinks its doable..don't you?

I did google it, that is where I found out about the all MEAT repetition plan, any kind of meat, 1/4 pounds -eat 3 times a day! It is one of the many plans listed. The first day i tried 2 eggs- 2 times a day instead of 1 egg -3 times a day,!! and I lost only 1/2 pounds (after a mysterious 3 pounds gain in one day) so I switched to Meat. Sure hope ur right about it all droping at once

Melly, my mom is going to have knee surgery after the new year, im not looking forward to all of this

Doit, at least u found out what happenes when U eat pizza .

I took tonight off from work, and going to try for some sleep

I don't know why anyone would have to google the Stillman Diets... it's right here in other plans where you find this thread... anyway... here it is...
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Stillmans Repetition diets
Dr Stillman also incudes in his book’s a selection of 'repetition diets' these plans are suitable for daily use inbetween Stillmans days, they give some variety to the sometimes harsh stillmans basic woe.
Taken from Dr. Stillman's Inches off diet book

the diets that seemed to have worked best for people following them are .. the egg diet..yoghurt diet..chicken and veg diet..melon and cottagecheese diet..meat only diet

REPETITION DIETS:

**Always have your recommended 64 oz. +8oz. water for every 25lbs you want to lose, and vitamins-you can add diet drinks, and decaf tea or coffee if desired**

***Purpose of these diets is that certain people can lose weight easier if they're only limited to one or 2 foods a day. These are very low calorie ranging from 180-420 calories a day. He says that on the repetition diets you can lose from 7-14 lbs. in a week.

You can switch back and forth from the repetition diets to the basic QWL diet.

You can mix and match variety diets that week or just stick to one.....

MEAT ONLY DIET:

This diet is limited to a half a pound of any meat wanted, 3 times a day, along with plenty of water and othe non-caloric drinks. For lots of those who like meat very much, this has proved an effective quick reducing diet. On this diet eat only lean meats, only when hungry and only enough to take away the hunger. You'll lose great amounts of fat quickly, safely and surely. **This is a repetition diet-choose only one sort of meat to eat a day.

YOGURT ONLY DIET:

For this diet take 120 calories of yogurt (I would choose no fat-or- lowest in fat...seems to be lowest in carbs) 5 to 6 times a day (total of 600 to 720 calories). You may vary flavors as much as you please, keeping the total calories under 900 daily. If you become constitipated take milk of magnesia to help.

SKIM MILK DIET:

(225 calories) 1 glass of skim milk 3 times a day

BUTTERMILK DIET:

(300 calories) 1 glass of buttermilk 4 times a day

COTTAGE CHEESE DIET:

(180 calories) 4 Tbsp. cottage cheese per portion 3 times a day

MELON-COTTAGE CHEESE DIET:

(240 calories) 1/2 melon w/ 2 Tbsp. cottage cheese 3 times a day

BANANA DIET:

(270 calories) 1 banana 3 times a day

MEAT-VEGGIE DIET:

(410 calories) 1 hamburger lean 3oz. well broiled, twice a day. 1/2 cup green veggie with each hamburger. *NOTE: you can also have steak(lean) known as the Steak-veggie diet

CHICKEN-VEGGIE DIET:

1 chicken leg or breast w/o skin-twice daily. 1/2 cup green veggie with each serving of meat.

FISH-TOMATO DIET:

Fish (moderate, 4oz.), baked or broiled-twice a day 2 medium sized tomatoes 1 with each fish meal

EGG DIET:

(225 calories) 1 egg-3 times a day.

Crabmeat/Lettuce Diet~ 1 moderate piece of crabmeat & 1/4 head of lettuce- 2 times a day

Shrimp/Lettuce Diet~ 12 medium sized shrimps & 1/4 head of lettuce- 2 times a day

Tuna/Lettuce Diet~ 4 oz white tuna (water-packed) & 1/4 head of lettuce- 2 times a day

Salmon/Lettuce Diet~ 4 oz salmon (water-packed) & 1/4 head of lettuce- 2 times a day

Additional Information
1. A minimum of 8-10 beverages should be consumed each day, which include water, diet soda, coffee, and tea.
2. In addition, you can have 2-3 generous servings of geletins and 2 servings of broths.
3. The doctor encourages plenty of brisk walking daily.
4. Just one week or less will take off about 10 pounds of overweight. The average is a 1-2 pound loss per day.
5. You don't have to follow the same repetition diet each day. For example, you can do the Banana Diet on Monday, Egg Diet on Tuesday, and Steak/Vegetable Diet on Wednesday...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yep... almost happy that I can't eat cooked pizza anymore... now I HAVE to make a raw pizza.

I have grains sprouting for a pizza crust... *smiles*

My calories have been super low this week, and only carbs were some eggs, and I am UP 1.0 pounds obviously 3 days of Repetition didnt help me at all.
I made about 18 dozen xmas cookies yesterday, never once licked a spoon, finger or beater...I was so proud of myself not even a crumb of the done results!! I have 12 more days before my monthly weigh in, at this rate I wont even make 10 pounds for the month

Debi how old is your mom? As I understand it, knee surgery is tough but a little bit esier than hip replacement because you do not have as many limitaitons. It will be hard but I know she can do it. The main thing is for her to do her exercises and physical therapy.....that is what will make her better and indepedent again. Good luck to her....let us know how she does.

My mom was looking at the sales papers yesterday.....like she is going shopping sometime soon She is really doing well and can't wait to go home tomorrow.

My son flies back From New York tomorrow and I will be traveling half way to Kansas City tomorrow night to pick him up. It seems like he has been gone forever, even tho he has called me several times while he has been gone.....can't wait to see him and hear more about his trip. He called me yesterday and had been to the cemetary....he said he had been really emotional all day.

My eating was ultra good yesterday. I have food packed for work today and plan to be a good girl I did not attempt to go to the gym this morning......the main streets are not bad but the side streets are a solid sheet of ice......probably 2 - 3 inches!!! It is supposed to get up to 44 today.....hoping alot of it melts off

The Honeymoon is over

Well two days in a row I'm up 1 at 225. Had to change the stats. I read one of you stating something about 'watching your sodium'. I wasn't! I didn't get a response from anyone on beef jerky but am suspicious that it's the cause of my momentary gain. I can't blame it on TOM because it's predictably unpredictable. I couldn't tell you when it's coming or going. I just downed my last bag of jerky. Not going back for more. Back to simple protein with a dash of Cavendar's Seasoning.
I ate a small serving of green beans yesterday at my daughter's cheerleading banquet. We had BBQ with all sorts of side dishes. To save her the embarassement of a mom who only ate meat; I got a few green beans. Much better choice than potato salad, baked beans, chips, bread, or all the many homemade desserts they had. :::: patting own back::::
Debbi - I'm proud of you to resist the temptation of cookie dough! I'm still ignoring the thought of holiday treats. I usually cook things for they guys here at work. I would need to do it on a very strong day. Like after a 2 pound loss that morning on the scales!!

Stay warm and cozy!!
Angela

Angela some people are more sensative to sodium than others. I didn't use to think it bothered me but I now know I have to watch it. Don't sweat 1 lb.....it could be alot of things.....water retention or maybe your body has not processed the food you have ate and need to "poo" I am sure that you will see that pound disappear with several more....you are doing great

I'm back again! Started today because "balanced diet" was making me
hungry and gain weight. So today was 2 boiled eggs for breakfast with green tea. skinless chicken thighs for lunch and ground turkey breast for dinner and
kiwi-strawberry sf jello for dessert.

Oh, and I'm going to do my quick callanetic for legs tonight.

Mel, she going to be 65, the reason she needs it back in 1977 she broke her ankle (riding a skaetboard, or shall I say falling off) and it was NOT repaired correctly, she had 5 surgeries on it and it stayed open for one year do to infection to the hardware. Eventually it healed but her foot angles downward and is unable to bend it so shes been putting stress on the "opposite" knee with the way she has to walk, because of no flex in her ankle.
today:
2 eggs & 2 bacon
toppings of meat pizza. lil cheese

Hi all

Debi... hold on and yes the lbs will drop all at once...keep on track./I noticed thanks to Doit that the meat rep was 8 oz 3 times you were doing 3 oz if I remember right... you need to go.... if you know what I mean... use something if you have to... and do not lose faith...

Melly.... shopping was my mother's first trip further than the restaurant..and the cart gave her something to lean on... take your mom Christmas shopping... you will have a ball if she gets tired have aplan for where the restaurant is in the store... my mom started in the grocery store... and the first time lasted over 1 hour...lol... 83 years old....then..

Rushing... can't do indies for all... but seems you are all doing great...

Sodium... swells me and I just do not need any fluff.... ya know...

Running to get to Blast Off...

The knee surgery is tough too... but as Melly says... it is the exercises... that keeps everything in shape.... they are tough but so worth it....

It is all a wake up call for us.... we are going to live long and need to take good care of ourselves... weight and strength and flexiblity and just care not taking stupid chaNCES... I AM dying to go roller skating... with those new big wheel things... but at 56....I just think it is unwise.... I do not need a broken anythanggggg...

later

LMAO Pam......I have never had a broken bone in my life *knock on wood* but everytime I get out on this friggin ice I tip toe and pray....ALOT!!!!!

Yes we still have ice. I have not even tried going to the gym.....it takes me 5 tiems as long to get out of my neighborhood to the main streets which are mostly clear but the side streets and parking lots Trecherous

I went by my moms this morning to put out some salt to help melt what my brother was unable to get off with the shovel. My aunt and uncle are coming up today to take my mom home and I am worried about her being able to get into the house because of all the ice. My aunt will be staying with my mom for a week or so when she goes home to help her get settled in. She is very excited about getting back to her own home and her own bed......it has been 5 weeks today since her surgery.

Aliyah had a Christmas program at school last night. The 6th and 7th graders say and it was really nice. A local church had thier bell quartet there and boy does the sound of those bells put you in the holiday spirit. After her program we went to my favorite coffee shop and had coffee with my workout buddy Robin and her son, who rode with us, and they had something to nibble on. When we left there we felt adventurous and went out by my mom's house to look at Christmas lights......I must be crazy because the rodes out there are terrible....but the lights out there are beautiful.....she lives in a very nice area and to the south of her are homes that I can't even imagine living in much less being able to pay for. What a trip....I am so glad we went.....there are alot of deer in that area and we saw them EVERYWHERE!!! I think we counted 9 or 10 total.....they were close to the rode in the snow and we just sat there looking at how beautiful they are.....WHAT A TREAT!!!!

My eating the last 2 days has been great. I am not really sure what kind of 'plan' I am on but it is working.....I am definitely down from the weekend. I am really embarrassed to say I had jumped up to 236!!! But as of this morning I was 230 Trying to get back to my siggy weight and keep on going. The last month has been stressful and I guess that is my excuse and a lousy one at that....but the only one I have. I am getting a grip however and looking forward not back

December Dolls Just a quick hello. I am off for work in a few, although I will read what's going on and post later this evening.

I will be back on plan tomorrow. Today is the party for the track team I coach, so I am ordering some non-Stillman foods. Since I've been off plan for 3 days, I've decided to enjoy the foods at the party today and get back to business tomorrow. It is what it is.

Have a great day!

Holding steady! Have to adjust my attitude this time around. I can remember on previous attempts/failures to lose weight, I would get very discouraged - very easily. At least I haven't gained anything. I'm sure tomorrow will be a better 'loss' day.
I am SO cold. Have my heater on by my feet here at work. We have had a very mild Fall so far. This 20 degree weather is for the birds! Hmm even THEY fly south! (further south)
We ordered countertops for our house yesterday. I'm so excited. We are hoping to move in by the first of the year. Two house payments are killing me. My DH is off work this whole week. I'm thinking of going by at lunch to crack the whip! hehehe He is amazing. We have done all the work ourselves so far. I'm the painter and hole filler/sander extraordinaire. He's the carpenter, sheet rock hanger, electrician/plumber and puppy feeder and all sorts of other things. But we are both going to be bankrupt if we don't git'r done soon.
Can you tell it kills me to have to sit at work while I could be working on the house!!!!
I use this website to occupy some of that time I could be worrying

Meal plan for today:
B-Cottage Cheese
L-Smoked Turkey
S-hb egg
D-Steak

Until Next Time.......
