Yeah we started calling ourselves the Hotties during October for "Halloween Hotties, I think we usually change it..........did they ever decide on "December Dolls"..........you know men can be dolls too.........
I'm a little behind........I fell off the posting and reading wagon along with the eating plan during the time I had to put my dad in a nursing home. I haven't really gone back and read things word for word, just kinda skimmed over posts. We need to firm things up for the start of the new month.........soon will be an entire new year............YIKES.......better get my weightloss butt in gear.... ![]()

There are a ton of books.........I own many......... Google "water fasts" or something like that. There are plenty of fasts....I prefer plain ole water. I think there is also threads on this site you can do a search here for water fasts as well. I do Stillman's most of the time but plan on doing water fast from time to time to jump start after long cheats or just to break a stall. |

I made it through the first 2 weeks of induction on atkins right before thanksgiving. When I did cheat, I completely fell off the wagon. I am pretty sure that I am going to have bad headaches and the groggy feeling for a few days. I was eating more carbs then should be allowed by law.
I think that I was making up for time lost eating?? Not very sure what was going through my mind. So, hard boiled eggs, and meat for the first 6 weeks? |

No, it is the best but it's how you break the fast that can get you in trouble. Also, any medical issues like diabetes, liver problems etc. best to consult a doctor. try for 48 or 72 hours the first time so you know what to expect. Get those carbs totally out of your system before fasting makes the fasting way easier. |

Hmmmmmmmmm, not sure. Stillman's is pretty strict and you should probably be in deep ketosis within 2-3 days if you keep the calories low. I usually average anywhere from 600-800 calories a day on Stillman's. Now if you REALLY want to get into ketosis fast to help break the cravings you could try 3 days of water fasting then go into to Stillman's but I'd only eat around 400 calories a day when breaking the fast. You should break a fast by half the time you did a fast......so if you fast 3 days.......break it by eating very lightly for 1.5 days. It's really up to you......either way should help you into ketosis quickly thus helping you with the "cravings" and more importantly it helps KILL YOUR APPETITE. |

The following was copied and pasted from a fasting site..........
When you finish an extended water fast (3 days or more), your stomach will have shrunk considerably, which means you will not require as much food to make you feel satiated. Also, your metabolism will have slowed, causing you to need fewer calories to get through the day. Take advantage of the opportunity to eat smaller portions of high quality food rather than larger quantities of lower quality food. Good foods to use when breaking your fast include steamed veggies (yellow squash, broccoli, etc.) and fresh fruits like watermelon and blueberries. Stay away from anything spicy or sour or acid. Breaking your fast with whole foods (rather than juices) will help stimulate a bowel movement, which is very good. Hopefully you were doing daily water enemas while you were fasting, to help remove all the old stuff from your guts along the way. They say that, for each day of your fast, you should devote one day to breaking the fast. So, if you fast for five days, you should spend five days gradually re-introducing food into your diet, beginning with the easiest foods to digest (cooked veggies, yogurt, etc) and finishing with the hardest (meats, spicy food). Using this strategy — particularly the part about sticking with small portions of higher-quality foods — I gained only about two pounds when I broke my most recent fast, and I have stayed at that weight for more than a month, which means I can probably stay here indefinitely as long as I’m eating healty foods. |

Now see what I just posted that I copied......? It says break the fast day for day of the fast instead of "half the time", so I guess people vary on opinions.
I plan on breaking my fast with fat free cottage cheese a couple times a day and some sugar free jello maybe. Last time I did the 14 day fast I broke it with hamburger and fries..........not the best idea. And I'm not sure about doing the "water enemas" daily.........weird.......get some fleets enemas if you must use some and I plan on drinking the Senna tea daily for my "bowel movement issues". |

Yep, any kind of "dieting" can cause constipation.........
I just found Senna Tea a couple of months ago. Alot of it is actually sold under "Dieters Tea"......it really keeps things moving in the right direction. And I love the taste of it with a little Splenda. |

thank you for the welcome. I am sorry that I sent the topic in such a strange direction
I guess I am just not ready for the fasting thing yet. I find that drinking LOTS of water helps me have a healthy digestion. I will just stick with that. Hopefully I can be a part of this group rather than just an observer, I am glad to be here. ![]() |
