Hi Ladies,
Checking in briefly, been super busy this weekend as this is my favorite time of the year. Yesterday (Sat.) went and sold some junk at the baby sisters yard sale, then went shopping with Susan and my mom.........so too busy yesterday. Today, went to the local flea market over 600 vendors, I love it, they were having some promotion and were giving away popcorn, cotton candy and boiled peanuts............I had a few boiled peanuts and left the other things alone!!!!!!!! TOM is due tomorrow and I'm already bloating some.......was up 3 pounds this morning.......... I guess that's not bad considering I usually gain 6-8 pounds around TOM but I hate it and I am PMS'ing like no bodies business.......arrrghhhhhhhhhh, I really hate it. Don't know if I'll change my siggie weight or not, or just wait until the end of the week and update it then.Don't know if I'll weigh until later in the week, which is going to be hard for me being such a scale addict and all. I didn't get any water in yesterday because of the yard sale and shopping and I'm trying to get it in today, but I feel so yuck and bloated. Pam~~~ You look so great!!!! Such an inspiration. I'll try and pop back in later for personals...........I'm really blue today.

Thanks so much doit!!! I now wish I had not thrown out my copy of the book from about 6 years ago. The explanation was very valuable, thanks.
Everybody thanks for the encouragement on my sort of ok first day attempt. You are all so encouraging!! My lower abdomen is so bloated. I really need to kick my caffeine. I feel really anxious today. Is that normal? Last edited by chrissym : 10-15-2006 at 12:04 PM. |

I'm back.........
Chrissym!!!!!!!!Laura~~~ WTG on your weight loss..........awesome. Melly~~~ Almost back to siggie weight, huh??? You go girl. Michele~~~ Yes, yes Monday is a new day and week, wish TOM wouldn't be arriving here........it seems to stall my weight loss and tick me off. Glad you had fun on your trip. Doit~~~ Woohoo........almost in ONEDERLAND!!!! KUTGW. Theresa~~~ Ketosis............don't you love it?? Amber~~~ Sorry to hear about your Mexican food fiasco, you'll recover. Food Discussion~~~ Congrats on the new little baby!!!!! Sorry if I missed anyone.............. Wanted to let you know that Susan doesn't have internet at home and rarely posts on the weekend unless she comes by my house or goes to mom's, she is still really, really struggling, I really wish I could do more for her, but I don't know what. She is thinking that maybe Stillman's is too strict for her right now. And I think Stillman's is just right for me right now because it is so strict. We are kinda funny in the way that we really try and encourage each other but it seems when one is doing well the other isn't and vise versa........ HANG IN THERE SUSAN WITH WHATEVER YOU DECIDE!!!! |

I BLEW IT!!!! Yes, I blew it at Chuckee Cheese Pizza.
I sat there and decided with my sister we were just going to eat. I even had a thin slice of cake, and I am not even a big sweets eater. Now, I absolutely VOW to be back on plan tomorrow. That is my bigger struggle, to go right back on plan the day following a cheat. Theresa~ I wouldn't sweat it. You are doing great. Increase if that makes YOU feel better. Karen~ Wow, you gain that much during TOM? Poor thing!Doit~ Yeah, that's for the 14-day shape up. I'd think QWL would be just as strict, since it is his fastest reducing diet. I guess it makes no difference as long as we all keep it as low as possible. Melly~ Oh, you are just going to the results you get with T-Tapp! Okay... I am off to exercise now. I am not going to mess that up, too! ![]()

Ok, Is it me or what? I find I am ok with eating this way until a certain point. Today again, I went for the cheese. I will describe the feeling...
I was feeling really anxious. (By the way, I only had one cup of coffee this morning and plenty of water. But, yes, I am considering dropping it. But only one cup when I usually have more does not normally cause me to react this way) Too anxious even to go to church. I felt I couldn't be around people. I eventually got it together enough and went to the gym. I did a hard workout for shoulders and abs. Then I did 25 minutes hard on the stairmaster. When I got home I felt so crappy. I ate one egg, then my drumstick (small). I planned to stop at this. But i was feeling so crappy. So then I had steak (4 oz) . So at this point I feel like vomiting or something. I just don't feel "right". Also, by this time, my protein is over the 20 grams "safe" limit for sure. So, I fall into a deep sleep. Then I wake up and am wildly craving cheese, so eat 4 oz of cheese in one sitting. Then I definately feel sick. I had a huge bowel movement (of what I do not know) and lots of cramping. So I lay down and hope it all passes. Honestly, I feel like I have a flu or am experiencing some strange reaction to something. Any feedback would be appreciated. Today was really scarey. I actually felt when I had finished my workout like I was not mentally sound. Is this a normal feeling when you go without carbs like this? Thanks for listening. PS... I just went to a few sites and the following pretty much describes me. Guess I just haven't seen any other people here post about these weird symptoms. It is Ketosis, apparently. Which means I am burning fat like crazy: Symptoms of ketosis include general tiredness, abrupt or gradually increasing weakness, dizziness, headaches, confusion, abdominal pain, irritability, nausea and vomiting, sleep problems and bad breath

so lesson I learned the hard way- DO NOT take the Free Day BFL allows. Um yeah I ate 3,000 cals (oh yes you read that that right), I'm bloated like whoa, and back up to 196. And what exactly did this to me, you might ask? Oh a SMALL Frosty and then I had a burrito and taco at Taco Bell- that's it! It wasn't even like I tore up the buffet, either...
I have never binged in my life and I had my first one on Saturday. I COULDN'T STOP eating- I didn't WANT food, in fact my stomach was screaming in agony but I KEPT EATING. The scary thing is, I felt completely out of control but somehow still satisifed like some deep inner child was finally placated. And all I could think of was how badly I wanted to throw up, yet I couldn't. It was horrible- I was so full that my blood sugar went out of whack (I'm borderline diabetic/severely hypoglycemic) and I was awake all night sweating in the bathroom with stomach cramps in agony. FOR SOME STUPID TACO BELL AND ICE CREAM. And it wasn't even THAT good... *sigh* it was awful and I felt like complete crap. How can people do that all the time? Ugh it was one of the worst experiences I've ever had, and now I'm miserable. and yes, I'm back to eating fine now and drinking water, but I still feel like my stomach doubled to twice its size overnight and like it's all stretched out and saggy now...

My workout rocked! Oh, did I enjoy that T-Tapp Tempo Lower Body Floor workout tonight!
It felt SO good. Perhaps it felt good to only work out 1/2 hour, instead of a full hour when I do that and Tempo Arms. My sis told me I look thinner than when she last saw me a few weeks ago. I am 1.5 pounds heavier today (more now after all that food today), so it is definitely the T-Tapp!!!!Chrissy~ I have never felt that way. I can only try to understand your pain and frustration. I usually don't feel like food after a workout, unless I just ran a marathon or 1/2 marathon, and suddenly even gross bagels plain taste good. ![]() Heather~ It doesn't sound like you ate a ton, although I guess your calories prove otherwise. I know that sick feeling, because I do overstuff myself at times. Next weekend, I know you won't be having a frosty. I hope you feel better soon. ![]() Doit~ I am a nerd and read up on everything, too. It seems you are the same way. I am really curious what you find out about the actual fat gram count for QWL. Please share if you find the information. Michele~ No sweat... you will have whatever gain off in no time. I am looking forward to your pics! |

Hoops...Oh you know IF I ever find anything out anything about that I will let ya all know...lol
I haven't found anything as of yet. He said to trim all visible fat. I guess if you do that and don't eat any marbled meat you should be fine. I wouldn't worry about the fat grams if you do as he says. Unless you're doing one of his diets that states the lilmit. I'm really reading up on fasts, Hoops... I plan on doing more of them. The next time I do it I WILL go a FULL 2 days. I think the next long vacation from school I will do more than 2 days. Might not be a full week. Might just work up to that. cya all tomorrow morning.... I'm going to bed. 6am comes fast.

And I too always gained back...... right away... until on this site somewhere I read about some people that have to avoid carbs and FAT to lose...so I came to Stillmans... and off my weight went... and I have to keep both low to maintain... increase either... and weight comes on... Anywho... I decided this time was the last time I was going to suffer thru Ketosis Flu.... and go Cheat Free... now I enjoy Food Freedom.. my food is a habit...never recreation... and a meal can not last more than 15 minutes.. then I move on to something else... and never eat inbetween... all it is, is a habit... Love being thin and my new wardrobe... hold on... you will be feeling better and thin... soon... and yes you will be adding in veggies .... I switch to Atkins on weekends and stay Stillmans on weekdays... and your energy will really increase... I am 56 and have more energy than any other time of my life.... I am also a hypoglycemic... which had me starving all the time... carbs demanding more carbs.... So nice to be out of that prison of walking around thinking about food all the time..

Morning All! Up 2 lbs this morning...We threw a birthday party on Saturday and grilled burgers, hot dogs, and bratwurst. Had an extra lean burger patty made special for me but being as sausage is a big weakness of mine, couldn't be satisfied with just the patty I had to eat x2 of each of the weiners and bratwurst (one with cheese).
I partial fasted yesterday and turned my nose up at the remaining bratwurst still calling my name. Now I'm just waiting for the killer cravings to pass.Saturday's menu: (party day) 2 slices ff turkey breast 1 extra lean burger patty w/1 tbsp 1 carb ketchup 2 bratwurst (1 w/cheese) 2 hot dog franks 8 oz diet Pepsi Jazz 24 oz water cals: 1008 fat: 83 carbs: 8 protein: 55 Sunday's menu: 1 fried egg 64 oz water cals: 75 fat: 5 carbs: 1 protein: 6 Last edited by FaithM. : 10-16-2006 at 05:41 AM. |

Good Morning Hotties...........It is cold, gloomy and the rain should move in by the afternoon and hang around for 2-3 days, urghhhh I hate this type weather and alot of it of course has to do with TOM arriving today, not here yet usually shows up around lunch time.
Didn't do my 14 days measure also due to bloating, I didn't want to be any more depressed, I don't get depressed often or easily so when I do it really stinks. Also NOT weighing until at least Friday, and hope then to post a nice loss. As of today still up 3 pounds from siggie, so yep (198). Laura~~~ Yep, I use to gain alot around TOM, of course just water retention, so much so my doc use to have me on diuretics for it. When I started lowcarb and drinking tons of water I didn't gain any from the bloating, but I guess the few little boiled peanuts I ate did me in, I'm very sensitive to salt, I really have to watch my intake, or I bloat like crazy. Sorry to hear Chucky won out, glad you had a nice work out. Pam~~~ Good Morning, you'll be at 110 by Thanksgiving I'm sure, you are doing great. Chrissy~~~ Hope you are feeling better. The only symptoms I suffer from ketosis in the beginning are headaches, being tired and feeling like crap. Heather~~~ Sorry about your free day, that is exactly why I only took ONE free day when I started BFL, also I couldn't do the CAD diet because of the "free" meal daily", I just cannot think of "undoing" all of my hard work with one day or one meal, and I usually over did it, so I have to leave those kind of things alone. You'll have the weight back off in no time. Melly~~~ The huge flea market I went to yesterday is only about 3 miles from my house, they built it 3 years ago, so it has kinda lost its appeal and magic if you will, I love flea markets too but when you have one that close it's just like running to wal-mart, no big deal. I hadn't been in a while though and I do enjoy looking around, mostly junk....... Doit and Michele~~~ Good morning ladies, looking forward to the pictures Michele. Well off for now, wanted to walk the neighborhood for exercise today but I don't know if the weather will cooperate. Laura and Melly~~~ Questions for you two since you are the "exercisers"....... Do you have problems exercising during TOM? I seem to always want to "skip" working out, don't really know why except I just feel yucky and bloated and of course you have to wear something during that time and one feels like a diaper and the other thing feels like it is slipping out if I really exercise..........sorry TMI, but I really have a hard time sticking to my program during this time and I really need to work out. Any advice? |

Good morning ladies! Another busy day here at work for me. I am hoping I will get some relief later on in the week. I haven't had a chance to read everything I missed since Friday, so I will try to do personals later.
I did horrible over the weekend! I don't know what is wrong with me. I was doing so well and then I had to go and mess up. But today is another day, and I am back on plan. I am staying on Stillman's. I know it works. My books are on their way to me, along with my T-Tapp, so I am sticking with it. I know I can do it, I just know I can. Cheat free from now on!! I'll check back later if I can. Hope everyone has a great day and to everyone who has been struggling. I know I have.

Hey guys.........didn't have time to post from home this morning but I am at work and the internet is UP!!!!!
I thought of something that I had not tried this morning as I was getting ready for work and got here and tried it and guess what? IT WORKED!!!!!!I don't have much time this morning so I can't post individuals.....but I will answer your question Karen.....when I exercise on TOM it really makes me feel better. I do not cramp as much and just seem to feel better overall. It might be hard to get motivated, especially if you do not exercise daily, but if you can just make yourself do it you really will feel better I had a great workout this morning and feel really good to start the week. I will not get my Thursday off this week because my boss and another guy from work are leaving for Detroit for a school tomorrow and will be gone all week so no day off for me Oh well......'mo money 'mo money 'mo money I will try to check back later......for some reason I have a feeling today is going to be crazy.......anytime my boss graces us with his presence it seems to be hectic ![]() |
